Definitely Took me a while to post this review but saw they have like a 2 star rating so had to add…read moremy bad experience with them as well. We had them fix up our house after hurricane Sandy. Now at first glance at their office they ran a smooth operation and the people there were very kind and helpful. So I thought we were in good hands. Fast forward to the actual work? What a bunch of screw up. They somehow broke a knob on my stove, they damaged a whole kitchen cabinet when they redid the kitchen. Oh and I found the original cabinet end panel, which was in perfect condition, laying out in the mud and rain. Smashed a marble vanity top from the bathroom. Put the roughed in hole for the toilet like 3 inches from the shower pan and only 10inch away from aThe wall when I told them specifically to do a 12" rough. Took all my copper pipes and replaced with Pex which was NOT in the original work order. Oh and the best is they reconnected my electric hot water heater using only electric tape. Certainly not code. They didn't even use wire nuts. Oh and after the house was raised by a very competent company they came back and built the stairs for what is now the second floor. Wobbly as hell as if the 3 stooges built them. So to be fair they made good on all this and replaced or rebuilt what their incompetent workers screwed up. And even though the mistakes they made and damage they did was so glaring they never came to us and said "we r sorry we broke a few things and will replace them". We had to keep calling them To get the issues rectified. Oh and the competent builder who I wish was there in the first place, who came to reinforce the stairs, was like "you shouldn't have been using those stairs in that condition " lol. Oh and some items went missing from my son's room on the second floor where no work needed to be done. Just sayin. So in conclusion I'd give them a few stars for the office staff who were very helpful in picking out flooring and paint etc. But as far as the workmanship went? If it were possible I'd give negative 5 stars.

Mr. John Murray, owner of Johns Furniture Restorations, took more than a year to refinish my…read moredresser, with EVERY excuse under the sun. Everything ranging from his mother being in hospital to temperatures being too cold. ( My work order time frame states 4 to 6 weeks). While I was out of state for two weeks, Mr. Murray refinished my dresser in the wrong finish, and then 'sold' my dresser to his mother, Maureen Murray, who owns La Strega Antiques in the same building! When I went to pick up my dresser, it was refinished in a brick red color, instead of the 'brown maple' color listed on my work order. I explained that the finish was wrong, and showed her a copy of my work order. Mrs. Murray told me she had 'paid' her son the balance of what I owed!!! When I asked Mrs Murray why she 'paid' her son the final balance of $700.00, she replied, 'because he has a family.' Two weeks later, Mrs. Murray sold my dresser to one of her retail customers. To this day, Mr. Murray has never returned any of my phone calls. Subsequently, I learned that this mother and son duo, have done this exact thing thing to many people - confirmed by the Better Business bureau with 8 complaints, and the Consumer Board of Affairs. Mr. Murray has NEVER returned my phone calls. The man will take your furniture and your money, and you will not see either of them again. When I asked his mother why he wouldn't return my calls, Mrs. Murray, John Murray's mother, feigns 'poor health.' Furthermore, I learned that Mr. Murray uses his mother's business address, as his own. She is not his partner, employer or employee. BUYER BEWARE: His mother, Mrs. Maureen Murray WILL NOT tell you which suite her sons shop is located! Watch out for these two! I'm out of my antique high boy dresser, and my $450.00 deposit. Take your business elsewhere - or you will be sorry!!
