But as this is a public facility and headcount and usage should matter to my thinking more is better. More people learning, and practicing, and enjoying... I was there mid day of a beautiful Saturday 5/7/2016. No one was shooting clays so I tried skeet and learned to drawl for the self activator. There 6 of 8 lanes shooting pistol and 8 of 8 rifle tables being shot. No one was waiting and it seemed busy enough but not with lines or crowds. Surprising for such a pretty day to be out! The manager and staff are all very friendly and accommodating. A great facility for groups as there were roughly 20 of us and there were no issues. The team was there from Monday till Friday. We prepared our own meals but they do offer catering. We shot Red skeet range on Thursday morning and had a blast. Since some us flew we used rental shotguns which were well worn but worked. That evening we utilized the rifle and pistol ranges. Lots of fun.

That is OK as they also have a snack bar that has nicely grown in menu selections and beverages. And very nice staff. In fact, really nice, gun-centric, knowledgeable people are all around you. They answer questions, give advise and educate and explain rules and how various ranges operate. The staff also can advise how to deal with gun problem-solving. An enjoyable place, for sure.

After spending 40 years as a teacher of both sports and academic things, I have to say that Mike is one of the best teachers and coaches I've ever had the pleasure to study and practice with. His instructions were paced with patience to how I could learn best (aka, ve-e-e-e-e-e-ry slowly, lol). I'd grown up firing long guns with great precision in different scenarios still and moving but that was decades ago. More recently, I'd had some lessons in short gun but from someone I thought was a not-so-great teacher a few years ago, so I asked Mike to start from scratch as if I'd never held a gun before. The more he taught me, minute by minute, the worse that other teacher seemed, and by the end, I knew he'd been a rotten teacher. That's despite the fact that he was a veteran of many years in the police including S.W.A.T. and special operations, but high skill levels do not always equal great teaching ability, do they? By contrast, Mike's instructions were clear, precise, patient, kind, and constantly adapting to the microns of progress I made with each round of five. By the end of our lesson, all my shots were in the center, and for someone who scored a D- in high school geometry, that was darn close to a miracle! Or great teaching. Yep, it was that one, great teaching. I'll be practicing most weeks at this range, and will study again with Mike soon.

I remembered one of my coworkers telling me about a Range in Sophia he wasn't sure the name but remembered triple, so i googled it. Headed down on a sunday , enjoying the drive through the country. Down a long gravel road was I found the check in office, I was met by two Friendly and welcoming people. They assisted me getting checked in/ paying and such and explained the range rules after asking what i would be shooting. They explained in good detail where to head. I headed to the pistol range and showed up at a great time because the range was currently cold and was able to hang my target and converse with some other patrons. Shot some decent groups at 20 yards after not shooting a pistol for 12 years. At check out i was again greeted kindly, i inquired about the ccw classes and went ahead and signed up for that. I will definitely be coming back and can't wait till then.

I found this place by accident. This is an indoor VR range with REAL handguns and rifles. They…read morecan also convert most personal weapons to use their system. The premise here is to use modules that fit into real weapons giving you real feedback without real ammo. 100% safe. When you pull the trigger a laser fires from the module, and CO2 cycles the weapon. Nice! NO CLEANING after a day at the range. One can also see one's performance level and diagnose issues in aim, reaction, etc. They have tons of scenarios from plain target shooting at different distances to self-defense scenarios to a full-out ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE (MY FAVORITE). The facility is very nice! It is temperature controlled, light controlled, and the screens are bright and crisp to display the "targets". You can shoot individually or in teams. The staff and owner (Ted) are very professional and friendly. You can just "go-wild" hunting zombies or bad guys, or get assistance from the staff on becoming a better shooter. There is a good restaurant co-located for snacks and such. For hot or rainy days, this IS the place to be. It's very popular, so make sure you call Ted or one of his crew before you go as their resources are limited. This is the closest you can come to military / police style training in million-dollar simulators, and other than 360* action, very little deviation. This is far less expensive than hundreds of rounds of ammo, cleaning costs, driving to a range, etc. Does it sound like this customer is addicted? I am!

We used the shooting range and both of the guys there were extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. We tried out a couple of different handguns and they both were able to speak to the specifics of each and made recommendations based on what we were looking for. We also spent time at the gun counter speaking with two other employees, one about guns and one about sites, and they too were extremely friendly, patient, knowledgeable and helpful. If you are looking to shoot and/or purchase a firearm I would highly recommend this place!

Only partially wooded, most of the 15 stations are wide open. My fellow 80 year old shooter and I looked at each other and simultaneously said, "cart". Yes, we usually walk the sporting clay circuits, but Four Branches was going to be a long, hot walk. The cart should be considered. Normally I fire pairing a skeet and an improved cylinder choke. This is workable where most of the clays are within range. But on courses with very high and very long/distant throws, I will use a modified choke with an improved cylinder. So is the case with Four Branches. One could even use a modified and an improved modified. This is not a shooting situation for sub-caliber shotguns, like 28 gauge and 420 bore. 20 gauge is OK. The clubhouse is well air conditioned and they do sell some refreshments, but not any meals, per se. They also have shot, shells, shirts and hats for sale. Josh Blayton is the general manager and he is a super guy who shoots there and is the set-up guy for the stations. A really nice guy, so say "hey". Challenging course, wear a hat and dark glasses as you will be exposed to the sun a lot.
