I've always been anxious about having my picture taken by professionals but I knew I needed to bite the bullet and get new headshots. I sent pictures of my clothing options in advance and Sarah helped me narrow down to a few different things we could try. During the shoot: we got off to a great start with free and easy street parking at our meeting spot (I know that's not totally in Sarah's control but it's a point in Petaluma's favor as a location!). We wandered around downtown's alleys and parking lots for about an hour. That doesn't sound glamorous but it's true that exterior walls are a lot more interesting as a background than you'd expect in a photo. Neutral but not boring. Throughout the session we talked about my goals for the shoot and my work, and I learned more about Sarah, too, which helped me relax even more. After the shoot: again, setting great expectations that Sarah would take some time to process but would email me in about a week.
