The venue was beautiful inside and out the food was INCREDIBLE and honestly a dream. My friend new what she wanted and asked for it planning and planned a BEAUTIFUL wedding. She hired a personal wedding planner to help make her dreams come to life and it was beautiful. HOWEVER, let me just say my bride showed incredible compassion and grace day of because if this had been MY day I would be getting my money back. The staff of the barn was disorganized and SO rude. They made comments about the bride and her family as well as the groom and her family TO GUESTS at the wedding. They were also exhibiting the same behavior to an entire wedding group the day BEFORE the wedding. I know some of the other vendors who were staffed at my brides wedding personally and they even said that the coordinator is rude and hard to work with and that's it their least favorite venue to work with. The unprofessionalism of this woman ALONE would lead me to NEVER recommend this venue to another person or family who is looking to host one of the most sacred and special ceremonies of their lives. Like I said my bride had a wonderful time because she didn't let it ruin her day but I would NEVER wish that experience on some one else. Your wedding day should be all about you and you shouldn't have to worry about a grown woman exhibiting such immature and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior.

They recently did some work in the outdoor area wherein there are places to take scenic photographs of which was taken advantage of during our school's prom a few weeks ago. The food is absolutely delicious as the the in-house catering outfit is led/ran by the owner and operator of a few local restaurants, Café 422 and The Candywood Wine Cellar. The offering was pasta with red sauce, Chicken Parmesan, garlic green beans, salad and cake for dessert. The chicken was perfectly breaded/seasoned of which was complimented by the excellent red sauce. Every bite was delicious. This place is becoming well known in our area and am told they are just about booked every weekend leading into 2024. This should also tell ya that it's a good spot to consider for your banquet/wedding/grad party needs. I have heard that you'll pay premium pricing, not personally confirmed, but based upon my few experiences here, it may be worth it.

Make sure you bring a lot of money with you because items are nice in quality and it gets expensive!! Even on a cold, rainy day in October, the place was packed! It's $10 per adult to get inside, kids 12 and under are free. We went with our family and kiddos and it was great. No issues with pushing our stroller around. However, it can be tricky to buy things for the little ones stockings in they're hanging around so bring someone to provide childcare with you if you decide to bring littles!! There is a Santa Claus, live music and lots of food for sale. We had pierogis, kielbasa sauerkraut sandwiches, Mac and cheese, doughnuts, cherry strudel, chicken wings, pulled pork sandwiches and hot chocolate for lunch during our visit. Everything tasted good! I would definitely go back and bring more $ specifically cash next year!!

Everything: iron garden art, photography, knitted items, ornaments, glassware. There is ample parking and a modest entry fee. I'd honestly be curious to know just how many locals know that this place is still in operation. I mean, this place has been around FOREVER. They do a pretty good job with dramas, especially when hosted in the smaller more intimate theater on the base floor. Where things get blurry is in the big theater upstairs. The entire property is in desperate need of some TLC... Firstly the Youngstown Playhouse is square in the middle of a pretty bad neighborhood, so don't linger around the area. Secondly, the building & property have been allowed to fall into a pretty significant state of disrepair, however, it is much nicer on the inside. It's really a shame, moreover, you can tell this place used to be pretty special in it's hay-day. Thirdly, the biggest issue is their sound system- it's awful. Every time I have seen a musical here I can't understand half the lyrics. The sound just comes out distorted. Do yourself a solid, come see a drama or comedy & you will have a good time, just pass on the musicals until they upgrade their sound system.
