A hidden gem except to locals. Went there with three friends on the recommendation of a local friend who knew the manager. Friday night was busy so expect a wait. The ambiance falls between casual and fine. Cannot say enough about the options. All four of our meals were excellent and prices for what you received were very fair. Known for their Italian dishes (and fish fries) I tried the veal parmigiana with angel hair pasta id it was great. If you can, order a side of greens which were really flavorful. Dessert options are limited but we were too full to even consider any. I am sure they are good. You can take your date or your whole family. read more

I got a to-go order from this place last night; it was the "Fireplace Philly." It deserved one star, but the use of real potatoes for the fries earned them, barely, the second star. First, the sandwich. Bun NOT TOASTED. Lazy cooks; unacceptable. Toast the bleeping bun! I like cheese as much as the next person, but I didn't ask for a taffy-pull sandwich with flavorless mozzarella (which should've been white American or provolone) that was piled at the bottom of the thing, but should have been mixed in with the beef and onions. The bell peppers they added were okay, but peppers don't belong on a Philly. The onion slices were very large, very few, and on the al dente side. Inconsistent slicing and cooking. Lazy cooks. The ground beef -- not the appropriate thinly SLICED beef; it's a Philly CheeseSTEAK sandwich -- was very DRY and somehow, even with the inappropriate peppers and the onions mixed in, it lacked seasoning. It was bland. Very bland. You know where these folks made up for the lack of the sandwich seasoning? By drowning the fries in salt. While I was pleased to see real potatoes used, the salt dump made them pretty much inedible. I hate throwing food away, but the salt was overwhelming. It's an absolute truth that you never get a second chance to make a first impression; this is especially true of restaurants. The "Fireplace Philly," at $13.99, was over-priced and below average. Everything is always good. The fish is the best anywhere around. This is definitely high on my list of my favorite places to go

just moved to the area and a decided to check this spot out with another couple. it was a Saturday evening and the place was filled with people. the bar and the restaurant had a nice vibe. very large menu with a lot of options but i went with what they're famous for the fish. my cajun broiled cod was delicious. it came with a side and either a salad or soup. the bread for the table as a loaf that came out hot fresh out of the oven. we will be going back again read more

Have driven by this place several times and thought it looked like a nice place to try, so we went for the first time on 6/22/22. From the moment we walked in, it wasn't a good experience. No one was at the hostess stand, had to wait to be seated. Once seated, no one came to the table for nearly 10 minutes, I had to go to the bar and ask them to have someone come and at least get a drink order. By that time, we were ready to order. We ordered simple things...pepper and egg sandwich and a sausage sandwich, as well as a cup of soup. We waited nearly an hour for our food and when it finally came, it was subpar. The egg on the sandwich was overcooked. No condiments on either sandwich. The soup was never brought out to us, I had to remind the waitress that we never got it and we asked her not even to bring it out. My fiancee took two bites, but didn't even eat the sandwich it was so bad. Thankfully they removed the meal from the bill. I believe it was the owner that was behind the bar and we were in plain view of him the whole time. It seemed like no one recognized that we weren't thrilled while we waited forever. Very poor service. There was no wait for me to be seated, but once seated I waited 30 minutes for my waitress or waiter. I had 2 waiters stop by and say they were not my waiter but my waiter would be coming soon. The restaurant was not that busy at the time, as I mentioned I was seated immediately. Continuing our quest for good greens, we started with an order of greens for an appetizer. Of all the places we've tried in the greater Poland area, these were quite good although my husband and I agree Johnny's is currently our favorite. I had the fish Italian style while my husband had the Tuscan chicken. I got my fish without the cheese as somehow cheese on broiled fish didn't seem a good fit. The fish was ok but nothing special and would have been quite bland without the tomato sauce, onions and peppers. My husband's chicken over penne dish was a bit watery and he said it was good but would not get it again. My side of mac and cheese was also very watery and a big disappointment. I love mac and cheese but ate less than half. My wine was served in what should have been a water goblet and the first glass had a bit of the foil from the bottle in the bottom. It would certainly have been nicer to have a proper wine glass than what I received. Service was spotty at best, sometimes attentive but we went for long periods without seeing our waitress. The worst. Absolutely no flavor. I had the garlic shrimp scampi. No at all. Tasted like chicken noodle soup with 10 tiny shrimp that were not deveined. Yuck. We also had the greens as an appetizer. Great date night with my husband. The live band was fun! We ordered the fried vegetable platter for our starter. It was a large portion of zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and onion rings. The batter was crisp and not greasy at all. Very yummy served with cocktail sauce and a ranch dip. I ordered the veal parmigiana with whole wheat pasta- it was wonderful! The veal had a ton of melted mozzarella- almost like getting a fried cheese for free! The whole wheat pasta was also beautifully cooked. The marinara sauce was sweet and wonderfully seasoned. My husband ordered the "world famous" fish. It was good - but not world famous good. We thought it would have the same breading as the fried vegetables- no such luck. Ordered take out and picked it up not a long wait at all. Ordered a Hamburger and Meatball Sub both came with fries. Very good price for the size of the Hamburger and Meatball Sub. Absolutely delicious, they let you put whatever you want on your burger. I will eat here again if I get a chance. Also the fireplace seemed very nice, a bar setting. Awful food. The place was very busy but the first time visit for us. Husband had fish & mac/cheese. He eat only two bites of each and could not eat anymore it was so bad tasting.
