Captain Doug was great at communicating about this, he understood that my 3 kids (7,6 & 4) were not going to be happy in those calm conditions because it tends to be too hot and a little boring. After a couple of reschedules, we went out on a cloudy day. We were a little concerned about rain but this man knows his weather and assured us it would be fine - maybe a couple of specks of rain, and it was exactly like that. Besides, he told us about his bimini (the big umbrella-like top that covers the whole sitting area) in his beautiful Lady Anne, a 30' Catalina boat, and exactly how to dress for the occasion. My kids were super excited, more about the innards of the boat, which he graciously let them explore, than anything. They went to see the cabins and the head (bathroom), and they were thrilled about the kitchenette. Then he let them grab the wheel, and at the same time he taught my wife and me about pulling the sails up, getting the front sail (Genoa) nice and tight, and a very awesome general 101 about sailing. We had a blast out there, realizing that Lake Lewisville is bigger than we knew. For a few hours, we forgot about everything else, we were the crew of a sailing boat that was able to harness the wind power to move pretty fast. We zig-zagged through the lake, then under a bridge where the Captain commanded the 3 little crew members to yell their lungs out (while taking some energy off, thanks!!), and then back to the marina. The whole afternoon created some memories that will be with us forever.

We took our time and really enjoyed the luxury to just be. We saw turtles sunbathing, birds, a bobcat, and had a picnic on the boat ;-) It was a lovely experience. Charles took us to the river and picked us up. He is great; super cool guy and I can tell he knows his stuff! That made me feel confortable with canoeing. Looking forward to our next outing!

We were a crew of 4 flight attendants on a long layover in search of a day adventure. The Trinity River did not disappoint. The water level was high and a little swift at times which we enjoyed. Prepare to see many different birds and we had quite a few fish jump near our canoe. The water was just fine...we did not fear for our lives...the water was clean and what you would expect in a large city. Although you are in Dallas it seems more like a remote river out west at times. Please take heart in our review....we have traveled to every state in the country and tubed,whitewater rafted or gone canoeing in almost all of them if available. Frankly, I'm amazed that he can drive a tour trolley and speak the ENTIRE 60 minutes!! Dallas only see below I am really upset with the Big bus…read moretour in dallas. We paid for Hop on Hop off tickets. They put us on the city tour. We were not giving options to hop on and hop off to look at any of the attractions as advertised on the website. We had to get off at a location not near the final stopping point because we needed a pit stop. The lady told us they would not be back to pick us up or that there was not another bus coming. This is not a way to conduct a business. We were not told they put us on City tour if that's what they did. So we were expecting to be able to do sightseeing at each of the stops we wanted to get on or off at. What is the use of advertising a Hop on Hop off tour if you're not going to allow the customer to hop on and hop off where they stop and get on the next bus. We ended up paying for other transportation to get back to our car because we are two miles away where she dropped us off. This is very disappointing. We haven't had good experience with most of the bus up on and Hop off tours over the years, but this one was bad because we couldn't get a hold of anybody to talk to them about anything.

Whether you are a JFK beginner or an assassination expert, you will get something out of this tour.
