I wanted to share my disappointment with the service I received from Lone Star Valet at The Star in Frisco on December 14, 2024. Everything was great until they brought my truck back to me, and that's where things went downhill fast. When I went to the valet stand, I handed the gentleman a $10 bill as a tip. He retrieved my keys from the stand and sent another guy to get my truck. When the truck was driven up, the valet stopped, got out, and just stood there. No greeting, no effort to engage or assist--it was as if he couldn't care less. I walked around to open the door for my wife, helped her in, and closed the door. When I walked back around to the driver's side, the valet dropped my keys on the ground in front of me. He didn't even apologize or make an effort to pick them up. I had to bend down and grab them myself. It was shocking to experience such poor service. This was by far the worst experience I've had with any valet service. It was unprofessional, dismissive, and completely out of line for a company operating in such a high-profile location. For the premium you expect at a place like The Star, this kind of service is unacceptable.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Lone Star Valet was absolutely unacceptable, and it all centers around one employee--Bert. Bert was not only shockingly rude, but he also blocked access to my vehicle and others while he stood around, refusing to help. When approached, he became aggressive, verbally abusive, and even used inappropriate slurs toward guests. It was beyond unprofessional--it was hostile. This wasn't just one bad day. From what I observed and what other customers shared at the scene, this is a recurring issue. It's clear Lone Star Valet has either zero oversight or simply doesn't care about the behavior of their staff. Either way, it's a massive liability, especially at events where safety, respect, and organization should be the baseline. If you're considering Lone Star Valet for your event or business: don't. There are plenty of other valet companies who take professionalism and customer experience seriously. This one clearly doesn't.

Got the car back in one piece and they do drive manuals. Why they don't have more stars?

I met with David in July 2024, and even though my wedding wasn't until April 2026, he made himself incredibly available throughout that entire time. Whether it was meeting in person, texting, or chatting over the phone, David was always there to answer the many questions that arose during our extensive wedding planning. He was so easy to work with, exceptionally thorough with information, and even provided great suggestions along the way. Additionally, Irene's Bakery--the bakery the venue partners with--was fantastic! The cake was delicious and delivered right on time. We also worked with DJ Ivan, who did an amazing job! He executed our timeline perfectly and played exactly the songs I had requested. On the day of the wedding, our reception went incredibly smoothly. The room was set up exactly according to the floor plan we had discussed. There was plenty of staff on hand, ensuring that both the head table and every guest table were well taken care of. Everyone was attentive and brought a wonderful, positive energy to the evening. As both the bride and the planner of my own wedding, I intentionally tried to keep things relatively simple--and even so, everything turned out absolutely beautifully. I didn't have to stress or worry about a single thing on our big day. I highly recommend Royal Affairs Ballroom for a wedding or any other milestone event. Thank you so much, David & Royal Affairs Ballroom!

We've had 2 weddings at this location and David and his staff were beyond stellar. From our first meetings, until the night of the event, David and the staff stayed in contact with us. We really never had to worry about anything. If we asked David for something special - example, daughter loves Dr. Pepper - it was there. I wish I had taken a picture of the Dr. Pepper bottles on the bar. Still makes me smile when I think about it. Our last wedding was on December 14, 2024. I was nervous about this time frame due to private parties and other weddings. With this date, and other special events happening at Royal Affairs, I was concerned with setup time as I, mother of the bride, was the setup team. David worked with the schedule of other parties, as well as our availability, and made it possible for us to setup before the wedding rehearsal. We got the much-needed rehearsal, and my daughter got a first look at the decorated venue. She was very VERY happy. The day of the event, everything was perfect when we walked in. We were able to get into the Ballroom early for dressing, pictures, etc. Timing was never an issue as, we spoke with David beforehand and he made everything come together for us. Both of our weddings were beyond special and we have David and the Royal Affairs Ballroom to thank. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thank you, David and Royal Affairs. Both of my kids had beautiful wedding and we can honestly say, you had a hand in this

That being said, my expectations were a bit hit and miss here. But mostly a fantastic experience. I love that it's exquisitely beautiful and very clean. I love that staff is formally dressed to impress! Collared shirts and all, it allows the guest experience to feel better. The cream of the crop though is the trumpet guy. He was everywhere and making people feel really special, by playing and getting the crowd to sing, he's really magnificent. A stand out to all other tracks, as nobody has what he does! The aircon is fabulous, so you can feel comfortable the entire day! The food service stations were helpful and nice all great! Each employee has a specific job , so nobody will help you if it's outside their job we discovered, as in helping find seats, getting programs, where's the ice cream, where do we enter for premium parking? All questions we had a tough go of. I wish there were umbrellas out front for shade, I wish more tables and chairs ground level inside, I wish there was a pony station to pet the ponies? But no. Another surprising thing I saw was a pony rider, while waiting on the track, smoking a cigarette! One cinder flick in the air onto a horse or person is not safe at all. Am really shocked this is allowed. Totally loved the "car wash" to the side for the horses who just finished, what a treat to see and treat for the horses, people say they love it. Could be good for marketing! Speaking of which, in my week there, most locals where I went, grocery restaurants gas stations didn't know that track existed! It's a marketing thing but maybe big Texas track doesn't need the money, not sure. Houston has the very best marketing team. Perhaps get some pointers! Now, this is by far another best, the track announcer! He's really the best, he talks loud enough and slow and has the most kind and caring voice of all. Most track announcers act like they've had ten gallons of coffee, not this guy, he's like everyone's loving grandpa! He keeps everyone up to the minute, and we just happed to be there with the inclement weather closure and the race collision and he was cool as a cucumber! Another one of a kind. And then lastly, security. Top notch, they make sure you are accounted for with proper ID and all, it likely any horses here will be tampered with or stolen, fat chance! And the outriders, again top notch safety, they secured the loose horses that fell super quick, they are constantly on the lookout for safety, getting ponies in line organized for each race, for a guest it looks so well organized! Sorry such a long read, but loved it here and wanted to share and hope this helps others who wish to spend the day or more here, it's so so fun! A MUST DO WHILE IN DALLAS!

The room was well suited for the party. As multi-purpose venues go, it's modern, clean, and versatile. Parking was easy enough in the retail spaces surrounding the storefront, which is shared with other businesses in a strip center adjoining a large apartment parking garage. Additional parking is available inside the garage as well. I can't speak to the workspace services offered, but we had a good experience on the venue side.

The staff keeps a close eye on the venue--they are quite strict about kids running inside the center, but they handle it with polite and gentle reminders, which I appreciated. The layout is very user-friendly. There is a convenient bar and concessions area located right next to the ticketing office. They also have two sets of restrooms: one on the main bottom floor and another up on the second floor, which helps cut down on lines during transitions. I came here for a dance recital, and the production value was excellent. Both the sound quality and the stage lighting were absolutely top-notch! My only real complaint was with the house lighting during the show: after every single song and dance routine, the main overhead house lights would turn back on. Because it was a recital with many quick numbers, the constant switching was pretty frequent and jarring. I really wish they would leave a few dim ambient lights on throughout the performances or just use low walkway lighting instead of bringing up the main lights every time. Overall, it's a fantastic venue with just that one minor room for improvement!
