Ive been a patient of Dr. Penabad's since 2008. Thyroid issues. He always takes the time to ask about lifestyle changes, workplace changes, and how that affects me/and my glands. If he insists on a test- DO IT. He AND THE ENTIRE STAFF are top notch. They only hire folks who have the same mind set. They have a specific protocol in place that works well. so they don't have a review page for the npr location , but i would formally like to say i will not be going to any of the offices. my visit to the office on august 24th was enough for me to not ever want to come, the woman upfront is very nice and seems to explain things a bit better when needing answers for things , how ever the gentleman who sits behind her is beyond rude , i don't know how they let people like that work in a drs office ... i have never seen someone act the way he does and its down right disgusting !!! i hope they get rid of him ... saying fuck in front of patients and slamming your phone down is outrageous to me .... stating you don't want to do your fucking job and telling the girl up front she needs to handle the other patients while you order food is absolutely obsurd .... I didn't know your food came before patients.... but however after dealing with me and my problems , she gladly took the other patients with out a word and checked them out.... you guys need more employees like this , she seems to handle things with grace... i wish the best for the people who actually attend this practice read more

We absolutely loved the doctors here but the office staff sure could use some tips on how to treat the people who pay their salaries! Tammy is absolutely the worst! You'd get better health care from Alexa! While the staff may be educated in the field, you'll wait for hours (literally) in the waiting room for you to be pulled back for your scheduled appointment and then they will ask YOU why you are here! Perhaps a review of a chart beforehand or the fact that you are an on going patient with a chronic health condition might be a trigger. I think the term "you are only a number" was created here. After reading the other reviews I absolutely agree that this is the worst in heath care. I had a stroke and since then my sugars have been uncontrolled. I went there for my first visit and Monica Plazarte just wanted to throw ozempic at me to "make things better. I am unable to drive anymore b/c of a paralyzed foot, i also have communication issues especially in high stress situations. I missed my next appointment, let me add that there is NO way to call and let them know because they don't have a VM during non-working hours, no on-call Dr to assist in any way. My sugars are out of control and I have been trying to see the Dr who won't see me unless I have a ultra sound, which I had at bay care in September but apparently that is not good enough. So according to her staff I am not able to be seen without an ultrasound. The staff member read me the Drs note to me. In short, If I miss another appointment (I only saw her once and missed one appointment because I can't drive) I will be charged and dismissed. Lady I will not call you Dr. I have worked for 20 years with amazing drs and not one of them ever threatened to dismiss a patient like this. You are unprofessional and a liability. I will dismiss you and find someone who wants to help me. 0 stars, do not recommend and if your life is in their hands you should start praying to any god that will listen. read more

This office does not care about patients. When you request a copy of blood work to be sent they argue with you. Then when you appear for appointment for lab to be drawn it is not there. People do loose paper work. Two weeks ago they refused to mail paper work to you. I use a wheel chair/scooter. It is difficult to go for an appointment let alone go for duplicate paperwork. read more

This care center has the worst of the worst staff members I have ever encountered. My wife contacted the office, and they were not only rude, but they were also wholesomely obnoxious. This center is the worst of the worst I have ever come across. My wife called to try and rescheduled her appointment. She is using her speaker phone, so I was able to clearly hear the conversation. The rude customer service person stated that she could not find my wife's name and transferred the call to another rude employee. As my wife is explaining why she is calling, the man rudely interrupted my wife to give her the address of the place. That was not the reason for my wife's call. He is a severely inept employee who was unwilling to listen before opening his mouth. All I heard over the speakerphone was rude language from these two employees. That behavior got me a bit over the edge and decided to write about this experience. I have a PhD in people's behavior and customer relations. I always taught to my university students that poopy runs downhill. That means that most likely, their supervisor is just as bad, or worst, than these two employees, treating all their employees as poopy. Moreover, customers will definitely have a bad experience. So, instead of this center providing exceptional customer service, they can only provide what they see from their superiors. What a shame! I hope the doctors can read this and be able to fix this problem. These employees are the image of this center; and right now, this image is severely stained. If you like the Diabetes Care Center, then write a positive review. If you have had a bad experience similar to this, write a negative review, so that other patients seeking quality service don't experience this type of bad behavior. You are better off at a barbershop. Dr. Anna S.-S. reviewed my labs and informed me, "bad things are going to happen" I replied with, "That's why I am here". She then informed me.........that she, "did not know what to do" TWICE ! She asked me if I had a phone....that worked. She is unprofessional and an amature. Staff seemed fine. 2nd Appointment 11 AM. I cannot say enough about the staff at Diabetes Care Center. They are always very helpful when scheduling appointments. Deborah V. goes above and beyond in making sure the appointment is either available or she always tries to get the closest to the date you need. The new female intern that I saw on my last visit Jan 2022, she is wet behind her ears. She was pushing a Lifestyle small needle constantly inserted in back arm as an electronic glucose meter instead of my usual glucose finger pricks of 8 to 9 times a day. I keep my AIC at a low 5.8 by testing 8 to 9 times per day and because my sugars fluctuate drastically during the day cause my beta cells of Langerheins do not produce insulin as I am a Type 1 diabetic. In retaliation for me denying the new electronic testing system, she only ordered 3 x per day glucose testing strips. I also have complication of Type 1 diabetes neuropathy, kidney microprotenuria controlled with Enalapril, etc and testing 8 to 9 times per day and adjusting the right amount of insulin or food helps in managing my diabetes and preventing it and co morbidities from getting worse. But, the new female intern only approved 3 times per day finger prick glucose testing trying to kill me by causing my diabetes and complication to get worse by only testing 3 x per day because I won't go with the Freestyle permanent electronic meter she recommended and is trying to push. If I have another car accident this time for not being able to test my sugar prior to driving do to test strips restriction, I can sue Diabetes Care Center and this negligent intern doctor for not providing me the usual test trips I need to test my sugar. I am not a candidate for FreeStyle electronic meter because I soak in bathtub sometimes for 1 hour which I find relaxing and having a small needle in my skin could add to infections, and I am susceptible to infections. Diabetes Care Center should fire this intern doctor. But, I doubt it because in my opinion, there is a tight knit and corruption between AMA doctors with Big Pharma. It is my believe that perhaps do to financial kickbacks, the new female intern doctor MIGHT be getting from big Pharma the true reason she is promoting the Freestyle permanent needle insertion in the skin testing system and retaliating against patients that refuse the new electronic testing system. The finger prick test strips patent perhaps has expired and big Pharma wants to make money in other ways....harming Type 1 patients by only restricting to 3 x per day finger prick testing trying to push the patients to the Freestyle electronic system that has a permanent needle inserted in skin. I informed of what the intern female doctor did to my normal doctor at Diabetes CAre Center to no avail. read more

If I could rate this place less than a star I would. The staff itself is incompetent, Tiffany, Ashley , and Amanda are huge bimbos. It was like talking to a kid. they didn't comprehend the extremity of the situation. I work in health care and listen to patients needs. They did not. Sign was posted to "Not bother the staff because they were busy so talk to Dr." English seems to be their problem but they think it is the US citizen who speaks native English who is the problem.
