Customer service? What's that... We selected this company to do a crack repair and seal on our driveway, was told we'd get on the schedule when the weather was good. This was right before a couple weeks of rain. We weren't ready the first time they suggested, but there was rain in the forecast anyway. Then another date was suggested another date, again with rain in the forecast. Maybe they should subscribe to the Weather Channel. While they're at it, perhaps subscribe to a course in customer service? We're not going to support a company who treats their customers this way. Made an appointment with them a couple days before they were to arrive, and we agreed on a time of 11am. I was told that I needed to stay off the driveway for four hours after treatment so I went out to run an errand at 10, before they arrived. I showed up a few minutes before 11 AM and I saw that my nobody was there. I checked my phone and saw that they texted me at 10:45 that they had came and left by 10:50. I texted and called a few times and when I finally got in touch, they told me "We were 10 minutes early and we called and not I have three guys at $40 an hour we cannot just sit around". They didn't wait till the agreed-upon 11, and they didn't come back. Very unprofessional and unreliable. Definitely don't go with these guys. Edit: I have video footage of me arriving before 11 AM and I have text messages of him agreeing to be there at 11, and of me text messaging him at 11:04 after clearing the driveway. I finally got a hold of him that day after several phone calls. Now after seeing this posted review, he's texting me this am, threatening me personally to put up poor reviews on my business (he's never used). Next step would be to report him to the authorities and BBB. read more

I contacted them for an emergency driveway snow plow. After all the snow we had. I probably had at least 3 feet of snow in the driveway. I went thru Yelp and clicked on the get a quote tab. James contacted me within 30 minutes at 7:00 pm. I thought that was beyond great customer service. I stated to James I was out of town and couldn't pay him until I got back, in about a week. He was more than happy to do the job, he gave a reasonable price, based on what other neighbors have paid. He sent me a quick text/ contract as expected. He came out himself, plowed and touched up with a shovel. All in all great experience, I wish every contractor was as good and as prompt. He even sent before and after pictures. I contacted James through his website on Labor Day and he responded that evening (wasn't expecting that but was nice!). He was able to come today, the day after in the morning and get my driveway seal coated. Looks great and James is knowledgeable. Price was reasonable as well! Diamond did our driveway this year and we could not be happier. We own a commercial parking lot and every other year for past 12 years.

I've used this company for years. They've generally been very responsive and have done a good job for me for the past 10 plus years. On June 16th I texted and asked for a quote to do my driveway. He got back to me the very same day. Told me he could do it a week later. A month goes by no-call no-show. I reached out to him after waiting a month and he gets pissed that I left him a message that I was upset they just left me hanging. You would think after being a loyal customer for 10 years he would be more responsive. Not sure maybe he was having a bad day. read more

HORRIBLE. James is 100% unprofessional. He wanted payment up front, and explained the seal coat process to my mom - "clean it off, fix the cracks, then seal". When she went inside, they threw down sealer and left without any crack repair. Texted him and asked about cracks, he said he would come back. Hours went by, we asked for a window of time, was told simply "today". I called. He insulted me and my mother, lying about correspondence as well. Finally did come and filled cracks on TOP of sealer (it looks so bad - see photo). We pointed out to him that this is out of sequence per his own website (clean, then fill, then seal) and he started yelling, fabricated stories, insulted my mother, etc. We have everything documented, too. They did not grind out any cracks per their website, and did not provide services as advertised. We will now need to pay more money to have it redone by someone else. Had to call the police on them after threats. Stay away!! read more

If you expect a service provider to actually show up then do not hire this company. they no-showed on 3 occasions over a 3 week period. i actually gave them 3 chances and after the 3rd time james got loud at me on the phone. very unprofessional. i gave them 3 chances over 3 weeks and the weather was not a factor at any of the 3 no shows. and when james got loud at me for no reason I realized that it may of been a blessing that they didn't show up. Called James Dunn for a concrete patio that we've been wanting to install in our backyard for some time. While he came out quick to provide an estimate it all went downhill from there.. Price came back lower than several other companies we checked with which should have been the first red flag. He had us on the books for the second weekend in Sept 15', but we ended up getting pushed out over 2 weeks! Normally, I wouldn't have cared but we specifically mentioned that we had a big party in a few weeks and wanted it done by then... of course he said it wouldn't be a problem... Needless to say the work wasn't done as promised and we had to shift everyone into the garage. On top of that he came back to us after the job was complete asking for more money!! Wanted another $750 for time/materials that were under estimated... at this point I was livid! As I refused to pay I would get constant vulgar calls from him and some annoying girls from the office. Threatened to take to court and sue me which I now laugh about because it never happened. Avoid at all costs!! [EDIT - 03/01/16] - Two areas of the patio have developed ~1 foot cracks after a single winter (maybe snowed 3 times here in Burr Ridge). I'm guessing they'll only get worse.. read more

James gave me an estimate of $79 for sealcoating and $50 for hot crack fill. His website says $89 for platinum service for a two car garage which includes two crack fills. I was unclear on this estimate so I asked James by email. His answer was "$89" which answered nothing. When I finally ended up calling he told me he hasn't maintained that website in over 2 years and he doesn't even advertise for driveway sealcoating any longer. He was totally unprofessional and is overwhelmed with his business (as he says he's the only one). I asked him about cracks as his estimate didn't note how many cracks I would need filled (if any). He said his estimate was given from google maps not actually seeing the driveway since he's so busy. He started ranting and raving about being a millionaire and such so I thanked him for his time and told him since he was so busy I would not overburden him with my job. read more
