Hired Matt to fix flood damaged basement. All of discussion made my wife and I very hopeful and excited to see the finished project. We were given a time line of a week to finish. This was in April of 2025. Matt was only on site once in a while. He had a person hanging drywall and two young men painting. The drywaller missed a few spots in replacing where drywall had been removed. The painters got paint on the ceiling as well as painting over the outlets. We had provided partial payments when requested. He needed supplies and had to pay his workers. The week lasted weeks. There were times we had no idea if and/or when he would show up. We had heard several times that if we could let him work late, he thought he could get done. Finally, my wife and agreed that there would be no more chances to finish. Matt told us that if he worked late, he would be finished and requested final payment. We told him he could work late but we were not able to make payment at that time (before completion). My wife told me he was working until at least 1am. In the morning, we found his vehicle abandoned in our drive. I checked the basement and did not find him in the house so assumed his vehicle was disabled and he had gotten a ride. I later received a text from Matt stating he was still at the house (slept in his truck because he couldn't get it started) and wanted to use our bathroom and do some more work. My wife and I were both at work and were not able to respond. Upon arrival back at home, the truck was gone and I started looking at the finished project. It was HORRIBLE. The stained floor was nasty. Floor stain was found on the wall, on a blind on tile flooring. Paint on the ceiling and trim. The trim was the wrong color and the outlets had paint dried in the plugs. We also found that the window treatments that had been taken down were broken in half. Matt returned to the house and I advised him that we were going to go with another contractor. All the insurance funds had been paid to Matt and we were paying out of pocket. We did give Matt another $1000 to be done with. He asked for more money stating he needed the funds for another job site. Matt had poured concrete steps outside the back door. The steps were not level or even the same size. We then had another contractor come in and the job costed so much more because they had to fix all the issues he created. Fast forward to March. We are finally getting the steps removed and replaced when I discover that Matt had disassembled a portion of the fence (with my knowledge and blessing) but only zip tied the fence back in place. read more

I had reached out to several contractors looking for a concrete patio to be poured. Matt was the quickest response and the best value. He takes great pride in his work. He came out one day to do all the framing and prep work. Completely cleaned up at the end of the evening (much more than I would have expected). Fortunately the weather allowed them to come back and pour the next day. Did a fantastic job and was meticulous in his work and again in his clean up afterwards. I would highly recommend. read more

He doesn't deserve one star but no other option. He doesn't finish jobs. He owes so many people money! We took him to court and was awarded judgement but will probably never see the money. I recommend all those that have been conned to take him to court. Go to BBB and report so he cannot con anyone else. No slander, just the facts. We have talked to others so I am sure they will back us up. We had 15K in a job that was not completed. So we had to sink another 12K to get someone else to finish. read more

Hired him for floors. First was told stairs would be done in a day. He came maybe 1-2 hrs over the next three days and still never finished. Then the day we floored the main part he didn't show up till almost noon. Promised it would be done by 8. Worked until almost 10 and his other worker didn't even show up to help him. Matt left for about an hour to do some other personal stuff that day as well and other issues at other sites. I ended up flooring half the house myself. He used all my tools for the work. Then he wasn't able to finish the floors. He wasn't able to haul away the debris. He had other personal things happen and couldn't make it back. The work he did do was good. read more

Matt's work is outstanding! He has a visionary eye for turning an old space into a beautiful new addition. The lighting added to our front porch walkway is absolutely stunning! He was price friendly and flexible to any adjustments that needed to be made (including unforeseen hidden foundational issues). He provided several solid workarounds to help us solve things that we out of everyone's control on one of our projects, and worked quickly to fix the things outside of scope. His new website is also extremely helpful and helps showcase more of his work! We look forward to calling him for our future projects! read more

Hasn't completed work that he was paid to do, lies about coming back to finish it. Never shows up and never paid subcontractors.

Doesn't show up when promised. Doesn't answer phone calls. Showed up at 1:30 AM to move a 30x40 Pole barn in the dark. We made him leave. Should consider why he cannot keep help! read more
