Last month I opened new business and personal checking accounts at Victory Bank in Limerick, PA…read morebecause I was dissatisfied with the recent changes made by my credit union. I've just finished my first statement cycle with Victory, and so far I'm really satisfied. Victory Bank offers both business and personal accounts, and depending on how your business is structured, they may be able to put both accounts on the same platform. I'm an S corp with no other employees, so both my accounts are on the same platform, and I can see them at the same time. I can transfer funds electronically from business to personal; there's a single logon for both accounts; the account transaction history list goes back to the date the account was opened (making it easy to do a Ctrl F to search for transactions); and there are no minimum balances to open either account. Something to know is that they do not have ATMs at this bank, but they do provide a $20 a month rebate for ATM fees. I'm not closing my credit union personal checking account because I have a regular direct deposit there. So I plan to electronically transfer most of the deposit from the credit union to Victory and leave enough money at the credit union for me to withdraw cash when I need it (they're more convenient for me to get to). It's called a bank-to-bank transfer, it's easy to do, and Victory Bank staff helped me set it up. The manager (and all the staff) at Victory Bank have been very helpful. So I recommend looking into their bank and see if it meets your needs, whether it's business or personal.

I moved away from the area, but still keep an account there since I've never been more satisfied with a bank. The people there are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to take all the time needed to help with transactions and questions.

I know it sounds weird that I made coming to a Citadel a priority on this trip, but I had my…read morereasons. Since they discontinued shared-branching with local credit unions where I am across the country, this makes it most difficult withdrawing cash in larger amounts (this usually goes right to my mechanic) in addition to other business matters I miss out on while in a branch. So on my second day in town, the Pottstown location was the closest to where I was staying. I don't know if this location existed when I lived in PA since I frequented other ones in different parts of the county, but it will do for today. Upon walking in, there was a 'greeter' up front and I let her know what I wanted to do, and she walked me over to a guy at a desk. His name started with an A or E (EDIT: it was Arnulfo!) and once he warmed up, this was a pleasant transaction. I did my cash withdraw, and also handled something with my IRA, which was a hassle to do over the phone cross-country since things had to be signed, etc. so it made sense to do this while being here. Everything took less than 10 minutes. I did return two days later to break down a larger bill, and Arnulfo helped me once again. What I also realized the second time around was that there were no windows here; everyone that assisted you was at a desk, when I remember as a kid they used to be only for 'serious grown-up transactions'. When I brought this up, he said they got rid of them maybe a year or two ago. I'm not sure if this is the case at all the branches, but it's certainly new to me. Bank of America's still have them, but out of the five windows they have, you're lucky if two are open. Admittedly, I had a negative impression of Citadel since I've moved away; helpful phone associates will come and then go, and then the service otherwise has mostly been a 4-5/10, maybe a 6 on a good day. I still consider leaving them for another credit union out west here where I can actually go in person, but the two visits with the same pleasant associate helped restore my faith a little more in staying.

During that time period citadel decided they would reduce the amount of money my credit card was allotted so now I will not be able to pay my bills because citadel took the money I paid toward my credit card and said you no longer have this credit on your account. Instead of informing me of these changes they sent me a letter and that was it. Worst bank I have dealt with yet and will be closing my credit line with them ASAP and my checking account. If you like scam artists this the place for you!
