This credit union is not what it was when they opened. I will be changing banks. Poor customer service, new system designs and online banking apps that look like a 3 year old designed them. They hold onto your savings for up to a week when you make an outside transfer in collecting interest on the transfer. Find another bank and run from this one. DCU is beyond repair at this point. Stay away from this institution. For years I was happy and have had many loans and credit cards. In the last 2 years this bank has unloaded fees on my account like I have never seen. they hold deposits that lead to unecessary return charges. I have tried to ask for an explanation and the customer service people are nothing short of rude !! They dont carry the same ethics they once had. Diamond Credit Union of Pottstown, Pa (just north of Philly) has been an outstanding financial asset for my wife and I for the last 12 years or so. We 1st joined while living in New Jersey. We were buying a used car for our daughter. Easy, peasy! We financed 3 used cars with them over the coming years at the absolute lowest rate at the time. We had a Home Equity loan with them that was unbeatable. Our Credit card with them has always been one to the lowest rates on the market. We now live in North Carolina and we have never considered leaving Diamond Credit Union. Their Customer Service has always been superb in our eyes. The employees have always been very friendly, professional and gave us the impression that our concerns mattered. So tonight i got my first job. I was all happy and excited until i spoke on the phone with a lady that made me feel like i was a burden to her night. I was simply asking her if I could get my account number and my bank transit number and she mumbled no, I suppose. Then I asked her again and she yelled at me over the phone and said "NO MA'AM. You can emails us." I get it that fraud can happen but like you don't have to be rude about it. I get it that you've probably had a long night but it doesn't mean you need to be grouchy with me. Very helpful and comparable rates to other banks and credit unions. Fee have been less than others in most cases, higher in a few but overall, very friendly customer service. We are no longer banking here. We noticed our account was closed. We received statements quarterly so we didn't see the service charges slowly closing the account until it was too late. When I called customer service, the girl said, "You were told when you opened the account that this would happen!" Unfortunately, I was not because it was opened for us bc we had a car loan and the dealerships took care of opening the account. :-( read more

Update.. 8/23 still cannot get my money back. We have forwarded an email from the store stating that they did cancel the the order and would refund the charge. Even with that Diamond MC has not refunded the money as a provisional curtesy so that it there won't be interest charges, and they have failed to do that. I will never do business with Diamond Credit Union ever, and I will recommend my friends, family, and clients to never use this organization. My problems began when I first opened up my loan. I wanted to use auto-bill pay with diamond, and they gave me an "ACH" form to fill out and fax to them. I filled it out immediately after receiving my loan. The first time, they said they never received it. I understand faxing can be a less than perfect way to send a form, so I offered to e-mail it. The rep told me they would only accept faxes. Her tone was negative and abruptly demeaning. Sometimes people have bad days, right? So I offered to fax it over a second time. This time I asked for the rep to call me to confirm it had made it over. I never received a follow up call. I then, called a few days later and asked for a manager, but the rep told me to fax it over and she would wait on the phone until it came over. Finally, Diamond received my ACH form and my payments would supposedly be taken out of my check account I have with another bank. A month later I received a letter from diamond saying they had not received payment. I called to find out what happened. Apparently there was an issue with the funds crediting diamond to pay my account, so I called and left a message to find out if I gave the correct account and routing number (which I found out was correct from my own bank). I did not receive a call back for the second time from diamond. So my frustration with their lack of customer service was increasing. I began to make my payments with a check sent in through USPS mail which is an inconvenience. About two months later I received a call from my insurance company saying I owed a $15 processing fee and they had to cancel my insurance (which is a whole other issue), so I called to get it reinstated. By this time Diamond had found out that my motorcycle insurance had been canceled and they sent me a letter saying I would have to pay 2100 for the whole year for supplementary insurance. By this time, I had figured I would have to pay about $175 a month for insurance. The Diamond rep also called me and stated that I would pay 2100 a year for their insurance. This did not bother me a whole lot because I figured I would have to pay for two months of Diamonds insurance which by the way was the conversation I had with the diamond rep because I asked if it would be about 175 a month for their insurance. I did, in fact, get my insurance re-instated with my current carrier. So, for two months, I had Diamond's insurance that they SAID would be about 175 a month. The next letter I got from diamond almost gave me a heart attack. They said because I had their insurance for two months, it would cost me over $900. $900 for two months of insurance on a 12,000 motorcycle?? No one from Diamond told me about this, or that this would happen. Not only that, I asked how I could get the 900 fee waived and they told me to call my insurance carrier and have it "backdated" (which is illegal by the way). I told them, if I knew you were going to charge me 900 for two months of insurance, I would have taken care of this immediately, but of course, the conversation I had with the rep was aprox. 175 / month. I also asked how they got to the 900 number and there apparently is no rhyme or reason, and they said it's for "fees". I personally think they led me to believe the insurance was 175 a month on purpose, so they could charge me the full 900. Their customer service is lackluster. They don't return phone calls promptly. They are very ambiguous with explanations for their own benefit. They tell you to do illegal things in order to solve problems. They will not work with you to the correct the situation. They have no one over there that seems to know how their own insurance will be billed and give you no warning about the actual cost per month, and they don't seem to care about customer retention. I strongly caution anyone thinking about using this organization to choose an alternative, or relieve your current relationship with Diamond. read more

Diamond Federal Credit Union allowed 12 fraudulent charges against my daughter"s debit card account over the week end and they were absolutely no help in resolving the issue. They charged her negative balance account $28.00 ELEVEN times due to insufficient funds due the repeated fraudulent transactions. This credit union is worse than a bank! read more

Time after time after time I have had problems with this place. Every few weeks since August I have had to call to get my auto payments on my loans straightened out. Every time they assure me that everything is good and yet again another problem. It's always an excuse that "the system did this, the system did that." I wanted a bank that I could physically go to but it's not worth the aggravation. I have never had an issue with PSECU and I am going right back. My co-workers can hear my frustration and I am sure they will stay away too. So many lunch breaks spent on the phone trying to straighten things out. I'm done. read more

I have called Diamond Credit Union numerous times to figure out how much i owe in payments on my car. In February I talked to a man named Greg who stated that i was "without insurance from November until now" which was incorrect as I had insurance the entire time. During our conversation he was very unprofessional and arrogant even though I had done no wrong. I provided proof, I had my agency call them and fax proof numerous times and each time they found something else that they needed to fix the dispute. Because of the dispute they raised my payments from $260 to $500 because they added their own insurance, without my knowledge or approval, and while i was trying to prove to them that i indeed HAD insurance the ENTIRE time they REFUSED to accept my regular payment of $260 which caused me to fall 2 months behind until they finally figured it out. So now it is May 10th and I am still 2 months behind because they wouldn't take a payment I tried making over a week ago (May 2nd) and today informed me that the car is now in repossession status because of my being 2 months behind. While on the phone with a woman whose name is Steph, but was identified as the Head of Collections I was informed that I owe $517, which i was trying to pay $300 right then, but she refused to accept my payment until it was full. I then went to the bank and deposited more money to be able to pay the $517. After that i called Diamond Credit Union again and spoke with the same man mentioned above named Greg, who said I didn't owe $517 but i owed $617 because of a $100 repossession fee. At this point I was fed up with the run around and said I would be coming down to the branch to get proof of what i owe in paper because i felt they were trying to rip me out of my money. While having this conversation with Greg he was arrogant and rude again stating I could either "pay the $617 or the thousands that I owe on the car". So when I went to the branch my girlfriend was with me and got a little loud and used a curse word so they asked her to leave and she refused to they called the cops, the cops showed up and everything was peaceful and I talked to them and they said they needed $617. While I was there I informed them that I had ALL OF THE MONEY and our conversation ran past their business hours and now all of a sudden they don't know if they can accept my payment because its after hours. The ladies at the branch call Greg, and he tells them to refuse the payment STILL, and the repossession people show up and take my car, while I am standing there cash in hand. First off I don't understand why it is now being repoed when I have been 2 months behind before. Second of all I don't understand how they can constantly refuse my payment and reposess my car while I am RIGHT THERE saying I will pay RIGHT NOW before the repo people even showed up. After everything was said and done the people at the branch also informed me that if my girlfriend ever calls or talks to them they will bill me the entire amount for my car and refuse my payments. Now since they refused my payment and repoed my car they incurred me another $300 in charges and forced me to miss at least a days work. I work an hour and a half away and have no other means of getting there. This business does nothing but give you the run around and has no internal communication. read more

I realize fees are the life blood of a bank but what do you say to sticking to fees for services rendered and not for doing NOTHING. Don't use a MAC card for 30 days...fee, don't use NETBranch for 30 days...fee. Try and talk to someone face to face at a branch...forget about it! Everything is done via video...so impersonal yet they want to claim to be the hometown bank, yeah right. My account was accessed a $26 overdraft fee when I have waived overdraft protection. I use this account for online fees, among other things, so I deliberately set it up this way. All along the card has worked as I expected. Now the credit union claims it wasn't supposedly to be that way! Outrageous. I am still working on them to remove the fee. read more

We have been with Diamond for almost 5 years and in the beginning we thought it would be a good fit. Boy, were we wrong! I am literally dumbfounded by the way customer service treats you. You can't make an appointment to speak to someone; you just show up and wait until the person you want to talk to is ready - like take a number at the deli? Their bill payer was recently changed and I've had SO many problems, I can't even begin to write them all out - from dates being changed, payee account #'s changed, it has been a nightmare to recover from - we have a business account - you can only imagine the late fees I had to deal with directly because the customer service people at Diamond would not accept responsibility nor would they cover any of the late fees. They won't give us a letter of proof of funds for our investment business and I've had to wait (literally) a half hour at times just to make a deposit at their so-called business window. This has the slowest service I've ever dealt with - I called about a loan 3 times and finally got a call back after 2 months and then was told I would receive a call back as soon as she came back from vacation! Unbelievable! Plus when you call, they don't have a record that you called before? Really? I don't know how this credit union gets any good ratings. Our experience has been horrible. We're in the process now of changing banks for both our personal and business accounts. I will make sure to tell all my friends, family, clients and business partners to stay away from this terrible excuse for a banking institution! read more

I banked here for 7 years. I refered so many people to Diamond and talk so highly about diamond that my fiance was beyond excited to get an account with this credit union. He filled out an online new account membership, he took the papers in to the bank signed, and he even put $5 in his account to open his account while he was right there in the office. He received Diamond checkbooks, his debit card, all the things he needed to assume that he had an account here. He stopped his direct deposit with his job and closed his current bank account. All that to find out he doesn't even have a account with Diamond?! They inconvenienced him so much. Now he has to go get everything situated with his HR department at work and not only that he has to go try and open up another new bank account since he closed his thinking he had a Diamond account. I don't understand how they could mail him 6 checkbooks and a debit card when his account "was not approved". Then they can't even tell us the reason why it was not approved! I am disgusted by how much inconvenience we are going through because of this and as soon as I have my affairs in order I will be closing my account as well. read more
