WARNING!!! I want to share an experience I had at the groomer on Friday. Furry Friends Grooming…read moreShoppe in Shelbyville IN (Groomer Jill Firman-Bowman). This was Georgia's first time going to the groomer at 6 months old. She was going in for a potty cut, face and nail trim. My 6 year old son, Kruz was with me too. She put Georgia on a short leash and tied her to the floor and had me sit across from her to help hold her. She first did her nails and Georgia did great! Next, she turned on the clippers to do her face and Georgia wasn't having any part of it. She kept ducking and and would not hold still. After a while of this, she turned the clippers off and decided to try and give Georgia a treat. She turned the clippers back on and she still would not sit still. The groomer, Jill, then slapped Georgia across the face pretty hard and in my head I was thinking, "WTF did she just do to my dog". Kruz looked at me and said, "Mom, can I go sit in the car"? I said, no baby, it's ok. Just sit there. But in my head I was still thinking, why did she just do that and she kept clinching Georgia's face harder and harder. It made me super uncomfortable! I got down on the floor and tried holding her to help the situation. But she kept moving her head. What happened next still has me in shock. Jill grabbed Georgia's face with both hands and was squeezing so hard and on the top of her lungs, screeched (not yelled), "You need to stay still" and wouldn't let go of my dog. I immediately said get off my dog and had to physically take her hands off of her. It was like she had a black out moment and went crazy. I said get my dog off that rope and don't touch her again. Kruz is crying and I was shaking so bad. She had the nerve to say, "Your dog needs to learn". I said I hope you never ever touch another dog. If she is willing to do this in front of me, then who knows what she does when no one is watching. We were walking out and she says, "So I am going to cancel your appointment in December". I said, "You will NEVER touch my dog again. She is older and said she only does 5 or 6 dogs a day now. Sounds like it's time for her to retire. I have a call into the Animal Control people. Jill rents out space at the Pine Ridge Pet Resort. I called the owner of the resort, Heather. She was zero help and didn't seem to care and said there were no cameras. She said, she has been doing this for years and she is not going anywhere. I collect rent off of her, I don't train her. She said she randomly walks in on her grooming dogs and she has never seen her do this. ‍So, if you take your dogs to Furry Friends Grooming, be warned. On the way home, Kruz couldn't stop crying and said, "Mom, when she slapped her across the face I could here her teeth rattle". It broke my heart.
