She's amazing with my dog. I travel to Indianapolis to get my dog groomed at this specific place because she's the only groomer I've encountered who actually knows how to groom a dog well. She's flexible, helpful, and so patient. Sometimes I think she knows more about my dog than the vet does... One time she dropped my dog off back at my house after I lost my keys. My only regret is that she doesn't cut human hair. read more

I am so happy with my first (but definitely not last) experience with Shake Dog Salon! My French Bulldog, Birdy, is my baby, and I am so glad to have found a local groomer I'm more than happy to trust her to! After impressing me with how quickly they were able to schedule an appointment (next business day!), I found myself most excited about how easy it was to fit that appointment into my schedule! I simply dropped Birdy off on my way into work (where I had a lovely chat with Krista about how much we love our Frenchie babies) and then went about my day, and they delivered her back home safe, sound, and smelling lovely! EXCELLENT!! Though I can't compare to other salons, as this is the first time I've taken a dog to be groomed.The total experience we had was fantastic!! Initially (and throughout) there was GREAT communication via email answering my questions and asking theirs of my dog. Dropped my dog off early in the morning and they kept for many hours, as is typical for first timers as they want to give the dog plenty of breaks and go patiently with them (this is VERY caring)! And then with the offer to pick up or drop off (cost based on distance) they brought him back home to me which was VERY convenient! I had the middle package of grooming which had GREAT work to get off much under coat! My dog has never felt SO GREAT! Three weeks later, still next to no hair falling off of him! These girls seem VERY sweet and EXTREMELY caring of the dogs they are caring for! I appreciate their ample time spent with my dog and great attention to the work being done! Cost was very comparable to other web sites I visited. I initially chose this salon due to close proximity to home... but had I known HOW WONDERFUL this experience would be, I would have traveled twice as far to go here!!! WONDERFUL!!! read more

Ever walk into a business and feel right at ease with the staff running the place? That is Shake! These gals anticipate all your grooming needs and are 100% thorough. My Airedale looks amazing!! And she's pretty particular The salon operates similarly to a day care, with lots of leg room and breaks. My dog actually came home tired as opposed to dying for water and a potty break. This was my first time here and I made my girl's next appointment before I left. And that was a first as well! read more

Shake is run out of the home of one of the groomers, which I hadn't realized prior, so I drove past it twice before realizing! So be aware there isn't an obvious sign in the yard or out front. The girls are very friendly and welcoming immediately upon arrival, as I was pretty nervous. This was the most thorough and educational grooming experience I've had, which is really important, I believe, to achieve the best results and better learn how to care for your dog's coat at home. She took the time to show me certain combs and methods she uses to keep pups prone to matts free of any issues, which I appreciate! Shakes prices are probably the most bang for your buck around the area. I did "the fair shake" package. Appointments are made in 15min windows and are on a waitlist basis, but it took only a week for me to get in. My dog's hair was cut much, much shorter than I was prepared for, but overall I am still relatively satisfied with my experience. read more

I absolutley LOVE these girls!!!! I have been taking Oscar, my yorkie, for 2 years now and my "new" baby girl Cecilia for the year that I've had her. Not only do they do a FABULOUS job every single time, they offer discounts for rescues, have WONDERFUL photo contests to allow you to win prizes, take PRECIOUS pictures of your babies and will text you with updates/pictures during your first visit (at least back in the day ;)), AND you can rest assured that your child..I mean dog..is being loved 100% of the time, never in a cage, AND only scheduled during times that dogs they get along with are there. I trust these girls SO SO much that they have the only spare key to my house and my alarm code. I'll never take my dogs anywhere else. They're simply the best. Both of my dogs have sensitive skin. Krista uses only the best ingredients/oils for them. She recommended I take CeCe every 4 weeks. Since then (about 6 months now of every 4 week grooming) Cece hasn't had any skin issues AT ALL!!! My dogs are so excited to go see Krista and Delia that they literally run to the front door every time we pull up. Can't say it enough - these groomers are the best I've ever used! :) read more

We've really struggled since moving to Indianapolis to find someone who can groom our dogs especially a Great Pyrenees. We've had all kinds of hatchet jobs and then we came across Shake Dog recommendations on Nextdoor. Tried them out and we have both our furkids going there now. Be careful when punching the address into Waze. My first time it had me go somewhere else and I don't know if that was user error or what even though I had the same address in there twice it took me to the right place the 2nd time. read more

They are the absolute best. We love them. Our dog loves them. The prices are totally reasonable. And the fact they are able to do a pick up and drop off is incredible. We have them pick up our dog from our home in the morning and then drop him off at Puppy Playground when he's all done. I had a very strange experience here. I took my dog to be groomed here and while everyone was very friendly to me and my dog, when I picked him up the vibe was super negative. They told me my dog was difficult to groom and passive aggressively hinted at him being an issue to the point that I asked if there was a bigger problem and should I not bring him back. The owner said not at all and not to worry that he would be welcomed back. My dog has been consistently groomed since he was a puppy and is mild-tempered and doesn't know a stranger he doesn't love. I checked with our regular groomer and she said he is always a delight to groom. All this is to say, Shake has never again replied to my texts or emails requesting another appointment. I asked for further feedback and none was given. I would not recommend this place because they were less than willing to be honest and open with me about something they clearly found to be an issue since they never again responded to me. While I found the owner of Shake knowledgeable, I also found her to be almost fake in her interactions with me. I am bummed that this didn't work out for a reason that is still unknown to me. read more

My dog has a lot of anxiety and has had bad experiences with getting nail trims elsewhere before but everyone at Shake Dog was so lovely! Krista communicated with me a lot via email before we even came to be prepared for my dog and then spent a good amount of time with me after his visit telling me everything they did that day, how he responded, etc. As for the grooming, they were able to get through his nail trim and they look better than ever before! And although he's a short hair and didn't need a cut, I never thought his coat could be so soft. I definitely plan on continuing to bring him in the future! read more

Used this groomer on a whim. Owners were great; experience overall was the most calm, relaxing one I've ever had with a dog groomer. However, I didn't feel the groom was better than any other I've experienced locally. I also thought the price was quite high, compared to other comparable groomers. I wrote a check for $50 for a miniature schnauzer who was in pretty good shape when he arrived, only to be told on my way out the door (thinking price was already a bit on the high side) that I misunderstood and the price was $60! I suspect they make a good living (and are able to offer the more peaceful experience) by catering to those willing to spend more so the owners (whose business is located in a residential neighborhood) can make as much as groomers seeing more dogs in commercial rental areas and charging less. I guess if it's working for them, it's working. read more
