How in the world have I not written a review for Diamond Plaza yet? Unless this is a duplicate page, I'm not sure. This was THE place to go to and get dropped off at or take the bus and walk to when I was in high school/early college before I was able to drive. I'm going to out myself as a fossil, but do you remember Life Plaza? Genki Living? Cue? Arcade Infinity? We really had it all back then. I'm even mourning the loss of our Cocoichibanya to this day that used to exist here. So many great businesses that have come and gone and so many years of my life spent here, great memories, sad memories, and memories with people who are no longer in my life. When I had to live in the horrific midwest, I would await the day I get to visit Diamond Plaza again. But that's just rose colored glasses. Yes, lots of businesses and some really good eateries have come and gone (crazy that Gen and Ten Ren's got eliminated), but now the plaza is SUPER FISTED. Probably due to the Chubby Cattle and the popularity of the other places to grab dinner and go to the Duo Duo Snacks. I used to be able to finesse parking in the back area or to the side near the freeway, but now you have to circle around much more often and the parking pit can't guarantee anything to you. Alongside parking being a PvP zone and no regard for human life, you gotta really watch yourself. I'm glad Sul and Beans is still around and that regardless of all the changes, you can always guarantee that there's good food here. Big fan of the Duo Duo Snacks, and it's nice that there's an anime store here (though the prices are a bit high and it's filled with mostly shonen slop). read more

Very fun plaza but the entrance is abit odd and small. Location is right next to the freeway and behind the gas station with one lane entrance and 2 lanes exit. They do have big parking lot and parking garage but somehow still lack of parking due to popular restaurants and others. Great restaurants to try out, game stores, tea & desserts places. Overall, enjoyable place to entertain for families and friends for sure. read more

This plaza is so much more than just a shopping center to me; it is a vital piece of my childhood and high school years. Back in the day, this was the spot to be every single weekend. I have such vivid memories of hanging out at Cue to take sticker photos (purikura) with friends, grabbing drinks and playing cards for hours at Ten Ren's Tea, and browsing through all the cool Japanese lifestyle goods at Life Plaza. While the shops have changed over the years and the plaza looks different now, the vibe remains special. Even though the "old" spots are gone, I still find myself coming back constantly. Every corner of this place is filled with memories of growing up. It's rare to find a place that evolves with the times while still making you feel so nostalgic. The stores within the is plaza are pretty good and my review is for the parking. The people driving here are reckless, so watch out! And some signs and directions on the ground are not quite clear with bad drivers already and it is making it worse. I went to this plaza yesterday and parked closer to the freeway row and I think some of the area has ant infested bc when I got back to my car in the evening after eating here, my windshield was full of crawling bugs and I didn't pay attention what kind of bugs they are and just wanted to leave since it's getting late...the next morning, when I went to my car, there were ants crawling all outside my car and it's gross and I wanted to avoid the ants getting inside...so I went to get a car wash and vacuumed everything and removed any food and water from car and spraying ant spray and parked under the sun for a few hours. Just watch out where you park bc I do not want anyone to get ants all over their car. read more

This place gets good then dies out then gets good. Right now, it is pretty good. A few good places to eat. A few other interesting shops and entertainment spots. This place suffers severely in parking. They absolutely need to make the spaces bigger and give up a few spaces to accommodate this. They might want to even consider redesigning the whole traffic flow. People cant drive here or get confused about how parking lots work. It needs clearer signs, paint markings, and maybe even barriers to direct traffic. That is the only thing that makes me dread coming here sometimes. read more

She is gritty and worn down, but still a diamond. Back in the day, DP was probably a hip place to go. A fellow could walk around with his sweetie and have fun "window shopping" for a great meal. Now Roland Heights and the surrounding towns have mega-awesome places that outclass anything at DP. And if you try to navigate to DP's leasing brochure online, the page is 404. Hello last night, (Sunday) September 4th around 7:45-7:55 pm our parked cad was involved in a hit and run. The parked car next to us a grey Lexus SUV was also vandalized, their back window was completely shattered. In the midst of asking businesses in this area if anyone can share footage of the parking lot between this time frame we have not been able to get far. Keep getting the run around. A real challenge in trying to get a recording footage of the license plate number. Ten Ren's has been super-helpful, unfortunately none of their cameras faced in the direction of where we parked our vehicle. We parked right in front of Garden Bistro, which refuses to help us. After hearing the horror stories about the lunch and dinner rush parking, I decided to come midday before dinner. It's pretty much like Diamond Jamboree in Irvine. They even have Diamond in the names! There's a couple of hot pot places, some kind of bakery, sushi place, cosmetic stores and dessert/milk tea. They even both share useless 2nd stories that most people don't even go up to. They both also have some kind of parking g structure that probably gets jam packed during rush hours. However, what sets Diamond Plaza apart from Diamond Jamboree is the selection of restaurants. Sure, they both have hot pot places, but the Plaza had Boiling Point and even Gen KBBQ. Their dessert places are also superior to the Jamboree location with a "Fresh" Lollicup, a Ten Ren's Tea Time, Creamistry, and two shaved ice places (BlackBall and Bean & Sul). There's also more outside seating in the Plaza vs. Jamboree. If I didn't work all the way in Irvine, the Plaza would be the place to be! Hopefully, Diamond Jamboree takes a couple notes from it's Diamond cousin. read more

Diamond Plaza is located quite conveniently to the 60 freeway and is home to a various of eateries that include Tokyo Shabu Shabu, Creamistry, Boiling Point, Ten Ren, President Thai and New Capital Seafood. There are also a few clothing and accessory shops here (which I have never shopped in because I am only here for the food). There is plenty of parking, including underground. I think most people do not know about the underground (or just do not want to) and prefer to park there instead of trying to circle around looking for parking. Overall, this plaza is nice if you are looking to catch a meal (or perhaps some tea). But other than that, there isn't too much going on. read more

More like the Dying Plaza... Everything is closing down.. Infinity Arcade is no longer there. That Plaza Walk area is closed down. And that bakeshop also closed down too. Sadness. Restaurants have come and gone there. There is only two reasons why I still go to that plaza.. Ten Ren and New Capital for dimsum. Other than those 2 things, it would be better to just hit up Yes Plaza or that plaza on Gale with Tea Station and Jazz Cat. Hopefully with the addition of that new revolving sushi restaurant this place will get some life back. But its hard for Diamond Plaza to compete against the other plaza's because it just looks run down now compared to the other ones. Definitely in need of a face lift.. lol Even with all the open spots people still suck at parking. (check out the picture i uploaded). And don't forget to look out for cars. Cause even when it says one way, people don't listen and will still drive on the wrong side. And come on people! Drive on the right side of the island when your leaving! The left side is for people trying to get into the plaza. The right side of the island is for people like you that are trying to leave. I'll see you again Diamond Plaza... Convenience Store, Dental Health, Charles Schwab bank, another small Chinese bank, a gem store, Tiamo, Mystery, Beauty Corner, Medical Center. RESTAURANTS- Ten Ren's, Kula, Lao Zi Hao, President Thai, (Soon) Coco Ichiban, Gu Yue, Tokyo Shabu Shabu, Genki Living, New Capital, Liang's Kitchen, #1 Pho, Boat House, Opium Pub, a Jiang Nan restaurant (Don't have an English name, provided this is what I saw on the side of their Chinese restaurant) ENTERTAINMENT- Egames and Cue This place is not for tourists, or people coming here to visit LA. This place is for regulars who has lived in Rowland all their lives and are used to the sh*t that goes down here because I can assure you 90% of the drivers here are SH*TTY ASS DRIVERS. There are street signs, drivers just don't care to follow them. They will be driving on the wrong side of the street, they won't stop at stop signs either. People are walking in the middle of the streets too. Opium Pub and The Boat House brings a long bad news (drunks) most the time. So yes, it's rowdy here. But I've been coming here for over a decade now. All this isn't news to me, it's part of what it is. You just gotta learn to maneuver your way through it. If you can't handle all this^, then I really suggest you stay away (dangerous drivers aren't something to be played with). read more

This place has so little parking compared to how many people come here during peak times. I've been here times where I'm circling the lot and the underground parking and have just left cause I'm not going to wait, no matter what. But this center does have some great stores. I'm usually here for Creamistry. I'm such a big ice cream fan, and this is now one of my favorite ice cream joints. Also, there's a Gen KBBQ! I haven't visited this location, but if it's like their other locations, it's probably poppin'! I used to go to Cue when I was a lot younger. It has those fun little Asian photo booths. I remember how much fun it was to go there. There's also a Ten Ren for your boba cravings. And I've had a lot of friends that go to New Capital Restaurant. read more

Diamond Plaza is the perhaps the most popular Asian Plaza in Rowland Height. It is one of the older plaza but has the most popular Asian Restaurant in the area. You got a bit of everything in this plaza, it wasn't too long that I consider this plaza dead. Since many business are gone such as the famous arcade place. I had see revival of this plaza. I have been to this plaza many times for many different reasons. Some of the businesses here have changed over time. This place gets pretty crowded in the evenings and on the weekends. Luckily there is some parking in the back area behind the businesses and there is additonal underground parking. The spaces near the entrance to the plaza are exceptionally close together. Unless you don't mind door dings, I recommend parking underground or in one of the spots that are further away. read more

Diamond plaza & diamond LIFE plaza are DIFFERENT (I believe)! Diamond plaza locates right next to 60 fwy and cross Fullerton blvd or road or whatever. The plaza owns many restaurant, yogurt/crispy wrap stores, cosmetic/fashion clothing/jewelry shops, tea station and so on.... of course it includes diamond LIFE plaza! Diamond LIFE has been closed! Now I see empty lots and "Coming soon" spots (that will probably close in a few months) with only ten ren being popular...maybe it will pick back up when Boiling Point opens, but until then...it's just not what it used to be anyore :( read more

If you think DJ (Diamond Jamboree) Plaza in Irvine is bad, check out the original, which is this place! (Btw, many people mistaken Life Plaza as Diamond Plaza.) Loaded with restaurants and specialty stores, Diamond Plaza is a treasure for first timers. After about the 3rd visit, though, none of the restaurants are really worth the drive from OC or headache from the parking lot. read more

Expensive, crowded, and full of hit-or-miss shops: this place only provides entertainment if you know exactly what you're coming here for. If loitering in groups of 5-8 Asians in a parking lot is to your liking, then this place may be for you. This place is almost as bad as Focus Plaza in SG in terms of bad drivers and parking. There are no real signs directing traffic, people drive on the WRONG side of the road (the entire parking area is technically a one-way counter-clockwise loop), and pedestrians never acknowledge any cars--great. read more

As others have mentioned, this place is BUSY! It will take you a good 5 minutes just entering the plaza with all the cars in line. Parking is a problem, and you have to watch out for those pedestrians popping out of nowhere. The most popular business seems to be the restaurants, like New Capital, Ten Rens and what not. I personally love Genki Living (crepes and taiyaki) A good place to come for your legit chinese food and asian stores. Just be prepared to search/wait for parking spots. If you're craving.. dim sum, crepes, bread, boba/tea, bar, thai food, chinese, curry, you've come to the right place. I have been there recently and was pleasantly surprised. Found delicious places to eat for very reasonable prices. Pho Noodle and Grill hit the spot on a cold night. We also loved Coco Curry house where we could customize the spiciness of the curry. #3 so far... some day, a 10! Good flavor. Kula sushi was new, clean, had good food and quick service. Made me want to try out other restaurants other people commented on. Not too sure about previous parking comments. Although I wasn't there on weekends, parking was not a problem. There are a lot of cool looking shops and places to eat in this plaza. We ate at President Thai and it was delicious! The three starts is for the parking. We came during lunch and the plaza was PACKED! Save yourself the trouble and come during an off time. When we left for lunch the parking lot had many empty spots. Diamond Plaza has lost a lot of their old tenant, especially the arcade! They still have some pretty decent ones there. Genki Living will always be my favorite! I like how this plaza has a lot of food, drinks, and shopping stores in one plaza. My favorite places to go in this plaza would be Genki Living, CoCo Curry House (which is no longer there), Midoh Japanese Restaurant, New Capital, and Ten Ren. Parking in this plaza can be really horrible in their lot upstairs and downstairs. So if you go on weekends avoid going in the afternoon when everyone is out and about. read more

With the plethora of strip malls, shopping centers, and, of course, Ranch 99, this may seem like another Asian mall. This spot originally housed a Ranch 99 Green (vegetarian version), but it obviously didn't last as it was later replaced by a small food court and a bakery. This is the spot on weekends for young Taiwanese adults for "hanging out"... not the unsavory types, mind you. There is a variety of stores, mostly restaurants or food related here. My first dining experience here was a small late night spot that served "western Chinese food" ala Baked Pork Chops with Fried rice and a number of Asian style desserts (Red Bean Ice, assorted juice drinks). In viewing Yelp reviews of the individual restaurants, they are mostly 3 to 3.5 star spots. I would the variety and sheer number of restaurants a 4 star rating, but deduct 1 star for the ghastly parking situation on weekends. They have a small underground parking area and the outdoor parking lot is a nightmare that reminds me of San Francisco parking. You will probably have a better experience in non-peak times, daytime or weeknights. read more
