The dentist also failed spectacularly to grasp that when an adult is genuinely needle phobic, you can't approach them with a needle without some discussion, or you will humiliate your patient. I was embarassingly distressed and in a mess when I got home. I decided to switch practice when he hurt me for the second time in the follow-up apppointment. Reception is more stark than a vet's practice and I was made to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, with them knowing I was in pain from toothache.
