We have been going to the Diamond T for years. We had a family reunion, celebrated birthdays, the 4th of July. Several years ago this rating would have been 5/5. As of yesterday, we will not return until it is under new ownership. A couple years ago, we were there and had an issue with some dogs barking. We cleared it up with Tom and thought all is well and that we would continue going there, renting and contributing to the local economy. We made a reservation for two cabins this weekend to celebrate three important life events - my father's 80th, my sister's life changes and a family member's upcoming deployment. All 10 of us drove up from Spokane. When we arrived they came out and yelled at one of us for driving too fast. Then they yelled at us for picking an apple (not listed as not OK). Then, my sister - the one going through difficult life changes was paying our animal deposit. Brenda started in about how they almost didn't rent to us and thought about black listing us. My sister remarked on this negativity, causing Tom to say 'we don't need any of your psychobabble!' Keeping a much longer story short, we decided to pack it in and leave. We had to endure 5 hours in a hot car, the expense of travel, and the downer mood this left us all in, during what should have been a joyous weekend. I don't know whether they rented to us then decided to pull all these shenanigans once we got there, or whether it went bad spontaneously. Needless to say, we will not go back to a beloved location until these folks are gone. The place has been for sale for a long time. Perhaps the negative energy they emit drives potential buyers away. My message to you is buyer (renter) beware. read more

Horse Camping at it's finest!! Went away for the weekend with a friend to discover new riding trails and fun! This is the destination for both. We stayed in my truck camper with the view of one of the two beautiful ponds. Full water and electricity hook-ups. Privacy and very comfortable. The horses were in their own ginormous pasture, tree lined with ample supply of fresh spring water and clean, weed-free grazing. We only supplemented their food with our own hay, since it was later in the summer and the grass was low. And the adjoining trails were challenging and fun. Water, hills, obstacles... all sorts of opportunity to enjoy! We could have just stayed in one of their 5 cabins along side another of their ponds. We were able to get a peek in a few and they were lovely. A basic log cabin, but in great shape. Our wonderfully gracious hosts, Brenda and Tom, were beyond accommodating. We are returning FOR SURE!!! read more

I went with a girlfriend for a horse camping weekend and stayed at the Diamond T for the first time. What a marvelous experience. Not only was the location beautiful, but moreover, so were our hosts Tom and Brenda. They displayed such great hospitality and accommodation to our needs. The location is convenient to so many activities and natural experiences as well as to restaurants and other shopping opportunities. Most of all, for us, was the access to trails, forest lands, streams and the river - All within riding distance. I most certainly plan to go back!! read more

My latest visit was in June, but I've stayed at the Diamond T many times over the past ~15 years, some years more than once, and in all seasons. Tom and Brenda are without fail kind, caring, and gracious hosts and they've always gone above and beyond to accommodate me and whoever I've visited with, doing their best to make each trip special. I feel like it's my personal paradise, and when you drive through the tunnel of cedars and enter the heart of the ranch, you feel like you've entered your own little idyllic world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This past time I went with two friends for a few days and made great memories, as always. We enjoyed a couple evenings of catch-and-release fishing in the big pond and had success, hiked throughout the forests on the ranch enjoying the flora and fauna, and just sat on the porch of our cabin soaking in the quiet or reading or talking. We also took a drive on the National Forest roads up into the mountains across from the ranch, headed right across the border into Montana to check out the Bull River Valley and Ross Creek Cedars and Kootenai Falls, and spent time in Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint visiting some favorite spots. The scenery on and viewed from the ranch is spectacular, from the rugged surrounding peaks, especially Scotchman to the north, to the wide variety of trees on the ranch and their different colors in different seasons to the elk or moose making appearances literally just outside of the cabins on most visits. But, the real gems found there are Tom and Brenda. They are wonderful people and they will make you feel welcome. The Diamond T is by far the best place I know of to get rested and rejuvenated and to see and feel God's grandeur and I am unfailingly grateful for it and its owners. read more

this place is amazing. before my grandpa passed my family (ofter friends too) would always stay here, and it is one of my fondest childhood memories. the pictures cannot do this place justice, it is the epitome of serene. it's a short drive (long walk) from Clark Fork and only about 15 minutes from Hope, if i recall correctly. this ranch is a special little gem i will take my kids to when the time comes but for now, i plan on visiting just to relieve stress, bc it's a special kind of high you get, just being here and relaxing in your own cabin so removed from everything. read more

Tom and Brenda are fabulous, kind hosts and they have a beautiful guest ranch in rural Clark Fork, Idaho. We took our children there over spring break and used the ranch for a base camp to get away on lots of adventures in Montana and Idaho. While at the ranch, our kids fished on the ranch's fishing pond, brought our bikes to ride around, petted the farm animals (goats, horses, ranch dog!), smores at the outdoor fire pit with the owners/other guests, hiked trails connected to the ranch. There is a fire tower lookout nearby and also the beautiful Clark Fork River. Tom and Brenda can give you lots of great ideas for epic excursions near the ranch. The cabins are sweet and our kids loved sleeping in the loft! Gas fireplaces and full kitchens make it easy. Didn't see one spider or mouse. Brenda keeps the cabins clean!! Elk outside feeding in the early morning fog. Highly recommend this ranch to get away with your family and unplug (no internet!!) and make memories. We loved it. read more
