The other day I needed a cab and I called three or four taxi companies before I got lucky and located Diamond. I got: busy signals, fast busy signals, messages that the phone had gone out of service and there was no new number, and people who couldn't speak English. Diamond has a smaller fleet of taxis than most taxi companies in the Lawrence Methuen Andover area but they have two distinct advantages: 1. They are prompt. If you arrange for a pickup at a particular time on a particular day they are there within 5 minutes. 2. They speak English! The dispatcher is a pleasure to talk to in a town riddled with companies that can barely understand a word I say. The drivers are all multi-lingual and very accommodating. One of them let me run into a stop-n-shop to pick up some gum while he was collecting another passenger. Older passengers are courteously helped into and out of the cars and given a comfortable seat. Their packages are carried to the the door. This is very nice service. I have used Diamond Taxi service several times and will not switch to another. I have never found their smaller fleet to be an inconvenience me. The service is very prompt, even when I am some distance away. I strongly recommend them as an alternative to the larger companies who sometimes don't answer their phones or even have phones at the published phone numbers. Tip: Try to bring cash with you, if possible. There is a higher fee for doing business with plastic, thanks to the costs which debit and credit processing companies impose upon small businesses. DRIVER ALMOST RAN ME OFF THE ROAD, WHAT A MANIAC. One of their drivers almost ran me off the road coming up on my right side. He and his girlfriend laughed at me. I called to complain and the lady in the office was just as bad. They have pieces of crap cars too. read more

First off I must say that they were very fast compare to other cabs in Lawrence, however I been in 3 different of their cabs.. First one: it was snowing and I understand the weather was bad but he hit someone's parked car and scratch their car and just keep driving.. Second one: car smelled like cigarettes really bad.. I have asthma so this was a nightmare and to top that off he almost ran over a kid while he was crossing on the crosswalk ... As a mother I almost had a heart attack.. Then he laughs it off and says that the kids wasn't wearing bright colors.. ( you're a freaking cab driver! You should paying attention!) also he was on his cellphone while driving.. Third one: car also smelled so bad of cigarettes that installed like a walking cigar when I got off of it so disgusting. Also this guy almost hit a kid again ( different driver)... I literally said watch out as the kid was crossing the street and he literally kept going and then stomp on the brakes inches away from the kid. I literally had to scream so he could stop because he was obviously blind and deaf! I really thought he was going to hit and kill this kid.. As I said they were fast but not safe drivers at all. I rather wait a bit for a cab company that send me a safe driver and cab that doesn't smell like cigarettes.. I mean kids ride in these cabs and they smell so bad. read more

Last night I called for a 7:30 am pick up for the next day...and when morning came I was waiting and waiting until I decided to call and check where my taxi was seeing as how my train was at 745. The dispatcher forgot to send a taxi to me, the cab showed up at 739, there was no chance I could make it. So he suggested we go to the next stop and he wouldn't charge me the extra amount. We were not even close to the next stop....guess what happened....I miss that one too, at this point I was pissed I was going to be at least an hour and a half late for work NOT OKAY! So I suggested we go to another station about 20 mins away I could catch the 830 and only be a little late, the driver was fine with it and I told him I wasn't paying the full amount since this was they're fault. he said he wouldn't charge me much just $12 for the gas. But when the dispatcher radioed in to get an update the driver told her where he was taking me and she had the nerve to say it would be a $35 charge...are you kidding me?! It was all her fault to begin with! The cab driver didn't even stand up for me after telling me it would only be $12. He was like " Sorry but I can't take a loss like that" Again are you kidding me?! I was shocked! I told him to turn around and take me home, I used to use this taxi company a lot, an now I'm never using them again! read more

Was cautious based on other reviews but driver was quick to come, pleasant to speak with and overall excellent. Nice enough minivan made the ride comfortable. They apparently drive a kit of Philips kids around if that helps and you're from around here. Would recommend again. read more

much nicer people then him called him from the hospital and was nice that day but called him to schedule a ride and gave me an attitude because i asked if he knew of any other taxis or numbers . was not needed or necessary. read more

This morning I had called at 740am for a ride to my doctors office which is in the next town over. I am 32 weeks pregnant, so my appointments are very important. My appointment was at 8am. Now i knew I was going to be a little late which was fine because the office doesn't really open till 810ish. When I called the first time the girl asked me where i was i told her the st I was on, and as soon as I was going to say the town the girl cut me off asking me where I was going. I told her. When 8am came by there was nothing so that's 20 mins. I called again and was telling her that no one came by. She was like is this so and so street i was like yes, she was like they will be there shortly. I was like okay great thank you. I waited 15 minutes. Nothing came i called the girl again and i was like hi, i called earlier and nothing came and she interrupted me and then was like what town are you in, i couldn't even finish my freaking sentence and she cut me off and was like sweetie i asked you earlier the town and you said yes to it, i replied no you did not. She then was giving me attitude saying oh i guess i imagined that. And as soon as i was about to speak she cut me off saying do you want someone to get you it will be another 15 mins. By this time I was heated. I was like no thank you, i am not bothering with this place again and she immediately hung up! I have only had one other problem once. But i let that go. I've been using this cab company alot, but honestly, I'm never going to call them again. read more
