Diamonds Camera sold me a faulty Polaroid camera and/or film, ruining my photos from day one (Christmas!). At first, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took the hit on the cost of the film, assuming that was the issue. But when it became clear the camera itself might be defective, I contacted them for a return to check it out. Instead of taking responsibility for selling a faulty product, they refused to pay the return postage - which is legally their obligation under Australian Consumer Law. Not only did they refuse to do the right thing, but they were also shockingly rude about it. They couldn't care less about their customers once they've taken your money. I have proof that the camera was defective from day one, yet Diamonds Camera is trying to dodge accountability. This is now being pursued through NSW Fair Trading and SA's Consumer and Business Affairs. Their arrogance and lack of ethics are disgraceful. If you value your hard-earned money, AVOID DIAMONDS CAMERA AT ALL COSTS. They sell faulty products, ignore their responsibilities, and treat customers with contempt. Starting to get into photography and was note sure between a Canon or Sony model. They guys at Diamonds really know their stuff, great service and actually wanted to make sure I bought the right camera. And unlike Georges Camera in Sydney, they actually have the stock they advertise and are happy to price match! read more

They've always got the gear I need for my drone or cameras. Even when they order parts in for me it's normally a pretty quick turn around time. The staff have their specialties in different areas of photography and are always willing to help and take the time with my drone or photography questions. Whenever new equipment is released they are extremely knowledgeable about the new specs and improvements. The shop is clean and well laid out. Bags are easily accessible as other other accessories like camera straps, tripods and lighting equipment. I've never brought second hand camera equipment before but Diamonds have a substantial second hand cabinet with all the brands to choose from. The gear looks pretty good for pre loved cameras and lenses as well. The shop is easily accessible and there is always plenty of parking given that they are located under the U-Park on Rundle street. 14/12/2011 I am a computer addict. I spend way too many hours burning my eyes in front of the computer. Microsoft Word...white laptop...and...white keyboard...and..oh...white mouse...white case...a nice screen...can all really catch me eye in a second. I wish the latest Macbook Pro could enter and spice up my life the way a good game of basketball does. "Look at me now. Trendy. Too cool for the old school." This relatively small store screams the latest technology at you...creating a shop look that I've never seen before. Or what I might call "tech-no-lo-gic" (in a distorted robot voice). The salesman really knows how to fire the name of computer terms and incredible up-front prices (think $2 800) at you - and if you check in on their website, you may find yourself camera shy! Cheers for the price. Now I got to get back to work, or find another deal, if I'm going to make this Macbook Pro a reality. read more

When it comes to nabbing yourself top brand camera gear at good - nay, excellent - prices, I can personally recommend Diamond's. I'd been in the market for a DSLR for a while, but being a novice and overwhelmed with choice, I was finding it tricky to make a decision. That's where Diamond's came in. A photographer friend of mine recommended a particular model to start with (A Nikon D40) as a great first DSLR with a lot of options and easy to use in auto mode until I built up my knowledge. So, armed with knowledge (aka my photog friend) we did some research online and then headed into Diamond's. The staff were super helpful and knowledgable, and even better - they had a special on the model, with a kit lens included. It was about $300 less than I'd seen it going for online. Happy? Yeah... $300 worth of happy. They also have a great selection of camera bags, lenses and the like: I picked up a pretty cute camera bag to make my new SLR feel at home as well. read more

Do I miss the days of taking 24 or 36 shots from my camera, then waiting 4 or 5 days for developing only to find out that 3 turned out ok, 5 out of focus, 6 too dark because the flash sucks and the rest were double exposed because the film slipped off the spool? Funk No! I have been a part of the Digital Revolution for some time now, and have purchased many of my cameras from Diamonds on Rundle Street, in fact I bought the very camera that takes all of my yelp piccies from Diamonds (Canon Eos 1100D). For me, Diamonds is the best Camera specialist going around, and the flagship store in Rundle street is the place to go. A great selection of compact, SLR's and video cameras, plus loads of accessories, lens's and some little digital processing hubs for quick print. The staff are super helpful too, and will steer you in th right direction if you don't know your megapixels from your titanium tripods. read more

Prices and advice is good although you need to check the net before you go to the shop. I have bought quite a lot of goods from them but they are not consistently competitive. However I purchased an olympus em1 from them and as part of the deal they offered me a couple of courses. One was at the zoo and run by olympus and it was great. But the other was a fizzer. The guy who ran the course blew me away twice cancelled on me and then told me he would get back to me. Not only did he not gey back he would not reply to texts and when I rang at the shop he would not ring back. I found his attitude terrible and as he is in charge of all their courses I would never do another course with them. Don't waste your money. read more

I tried to buy a product from their website. They sent me the wrong product. I tried to contact them to fix this problem, but the only contact details they have is an online submission form. 2 weeks and several attempts later there was no response. I phoned the actual store but was passed on to several different sections before speaking to some unhelpful oaf who's only advice was "that's what happens when you buy online". I'm now out of pocket and only have a useless product I never wanted to show for it. Do not recommend. read more

I only entered that shop once, only once, and I pissed off. If you cannot open at 17:10 on Wednesday, just change your note about trading hours to 17:00! What's the meaning of "we can't" and "it's shut for today", just when I ran to there at 17:10? It's ridiculous! [NEGATIVE (-5) STARS] Totally disappointed with this company! I ordered a Manfrotto counter weight from them via eBay... only to receive a rusty used scuffed/scratched counter weight from them. Since I live in Miami, FL... it's not like can just go and drive there to exchange or return it. The listing on eBay said.. "Brand New" After waiting on [Aaron from the store] to answer back my messages (almost two weeks later) he asked for me to send him photos of the item and he would try to fix the issue I had... I wrote back to him a within a few hours later asking him to please send me an email where I can send him the images, only to never get a response from him again. Then I proceeded to leave a feedback on eBay.. by this time it was too late to do so... apparently the "feedback: times out after a while. I waited to see if Diamonds Camera would do something to make the matter right. But they didn't - This is actually the 1st time I go out of my way to write a bad review on someone. I'm really disappointed that there are ppl like this in the world. So thank you Aaron for being a douche and pretty much ripping me off! read more
