In fact, it had the complete opposite effect on them; from viewing the trees, given an apple growth lesson, learning how apples are pollinated and viewing the bees, learning how the apples are sorted and viewing the large washing/sorter machine and seeing how the apples are stored in the large refrigerator. We enjoyed our lunch while eating apple donuts and drinking apple slushes. We spent time at the playground before departing back to school. It was so exciting to see homemade jams, freshly picked peaches and cider. I ended up getting the cutest soy eucalyptus candle, a bunch of ciders, a measurement shot glass, kettle popcorn and organic bug repellent. All things I never knew I needed, until now :) I wish this shop was bigger and more expansive but I'd be in trouble because I'd end up buying more than I bargained for. The home made cider was incredible. They made it into a slushee and it was so good, ended up getting two cups full and then two for the road. It was also neat that the cider didn't need to be refrigerated, making it so much easier to transport cross country. The staff here was also super friendly and welcoming which also is an added plus. Highly recommend stopping here if you ever find yourself in Sullivan, Illinois!

I recently coordinated my high school's 20th reunion. Communication was VERY spotty. I initially…read morecalled and spoke with Tony but he said it was a busy time and took my number. I called back a few days later after not hearing from him and he said he'd misplaced my number. I explain what I'm in need of he was accommodating saying he'd piggy back our order onto a wedding the same weekend or week before to get us better pricing if we were flexible with what to serve. I agreed and we set a price per person. A month or so later I get a call from a woman who says she's now the event coordinator. She didn't have any knowledge or our agreements on the menu and price and tried to get us to pay more even though I'd already started inviting classmates. She said to call back with a final count in a month. I did so and I spoke with Tony. I gave him the number and explained my concern about the pricing change and he said it would be what we previously discussed. I asked him what the menu would be and he said he'd let me know. Again I didn't hear from him so I called back and he seemed annoyed that I wanted to know. I just wanted to give classmates a head's up! He seemed to begrudgingly tell me. The night of the reunion was lovely. The food was good and the server we had was wonderful. The woman serving and the woman bartending were both accommodating to us. There are few places in the area for things like a reunion so I would certainly return but I highly recommend getting things in writing.

Absolutely nothing in our cart was attractive or appealing. Lastly, there are NO bathrooms available on the train for the guests. You're on there for almost 2 1/2 hours and must wait to depart to get to a bathroom. Other than that it IS worth the time and money.
