Carsell is amazing! This man handled being inundated with a baseball team of 11 boys and their parents mid afternoon like a PRO! He was super prompt with drinks, taking orders and making sense out of the madness being the only floor employee handing our huge group. The southwest egg rolls are amazing give them a try. Chicken Caesar wrap was very tasty, and the kids reported the cheeseburgers & waffle burger were great. Portions are huge! read more

The menu is a mess: we ordered cheese curds--they didn't have those--mozzarella sticks instead; we ordered onion rings--they were out; so we ordered pretzel bites--they didn't have those, just one big soft pretzel. They refused to serve me! I used to eat here 2-3 times a month but not any more. I went in at 4 PM for an early supper. The place had 12 customers at most, almost all at the bar. I sat down at a table right by the bar but no one came to take my order. Like I said, the place wasn't busy. After 10 minutes, I was disgusted so I got up and left. Ended up going directly across the street to eat. This experience truly rates a zero, but you unfortunately you have give something a star in order post your review. read more

I used to eat at LSB on a weekly basis. The former owner was very proud of the place and very conscientious. He even helped serve and/or bus tables when they were busy. But most importantly the food was GREAT. I can't say the same for LSB under the current owner. The food is oversalted the service was slow. The sandwich I used to love bore little or no resemblance to what I was served. The onion rings where the only thing that our party of four agreed were above average. LSB is one of the good things about Decatur. The food isn't gourmet by any means, but it certainly hits the spot. The place features live musical entertainment on a fairly regular basis - sometimes there's a band, or even a house DJ spinning a wide array of tunes. They've got an all-you-can-eat chili bar on Mondays, and their famous taco bar isn't to be missed on Wednesdays. I've never had bad service at this place, whether I'm there for food or for late-night drinks with my friends. I love their Italian beef special with fries, as well as their jambalaya which they only make about once a month. The decor is pretty fun, and most people who are there on any given night don't take themselves too seriously. This is one of my favorite places. Honestly, it is comfortable, homey and always has really good events. The staff is genuinely nice and helpful. It is family owned and really is one of my favorite places in town. They have super fun events. They do a run for St. Pats, $30 and then it is unlimited beer and food for 2.5 hours. The new remodel is great but don't order anything with their cheese sauce on top or inside of the dish. it definitely is just velveeta with an entire can of tomatoes put into each dish. Not the best food I've ever had, that's for sure. read more

The LSB is the hang out spot the teachers go to during the particular conference I'm attending. Half hole in the wall half hidden gem. The bar tenders and waitresses are all amazingly friendly and even love hanging out with us. Food quality is great and everywhere you look is a TV with Chicago sports. Karaoke night is always the best. read more

LSB is adequate at best. The food was just ok. Not bad, but definitely not worth going out of your way for. What really upset me was how slow the service was. My girlfriend and I waited over 40 minutes for my sandwhich and her salad. There has to be a better place to grab a casual meal. read more

The interior is beautiful after the remodel but the food is horrible had smothered fries to start to call them over salted is an understatement then I had the hickory bbq pork horse show the meat was disgusting tasted like pork soaked in hickory liquid smoke and again the waffle fries were completely over salted. My girlfriend had the Phillie horse shoe she thought it was ok but way too salty. We were hoping for some redemption for the place with dessert but no the bread pudding was dry over cooked and bland. We are here often under the previous owner will not be back. read more

Went there to do a football fantasy draft and they did not disappoint! The French Dip was great, and the server was polite and friendly. My only true complaint was there were no great craft beers on draught. They had Guinness, Heineken, Pabst, and Blue Moon, but nothing from Bell's , Three Floyds, or even New Belgium. Great place to eat. Food was awesome but the employees were even better. The waitress we had never had us waiting for anything. Appetizers and meals were out very fast. Are you ready to go to a bar full of obnoxious college kids? Be prepared if you have a female bartender who is around 50...she will offend you, take forever on simple drink orders, and probably give you a diluted drink. The bathrooms will undoubtedly be disgusting even if it is only 8 pm. The positives of LSB: cheapest drinks around, occasional dj's or bands, and a nice outdoor patio. read more

Friend recommended it. The chips and burger were too salty, burger had a hair in it. Bar stools were too low so I moved to a table, the metal stool wasnt comfortable either. The meal filled me up, and was reasonably priced, but the overall experience ruined my day. read more

Went for lunch today. Wanted to see remodel. It was nice. Had the big house salad with thousand island. Waitress brings salad and a small cup Of dressing and asks me if I would like another dressing cup and I said that would be nice as these are fairly good size salads. Waitress returns and informs Me they are out of thousand island and if would like a different dressing I replied with WTF. I just could t believe they were out considering they still had more lunch time and dinner time. So I eat my salad and right as my waitress comes by to pick up my salad bowl, a kitchen worker brings her a new bigger cup of thousand island. Of course I'm done eating. I didn't make a Really big fuss about all of it because the wItress(gabby was her name).was Very nice and did the best she could do. I did get the employee discount on my salad. So because of the dressing they get 3 stars. The waitress, Gabby gets 5 stars. read more

Cover charge was advertised as $5 for their Halloween event but then doubled it to $10 just because they could. I had also called ahead of time about the costume contest and I was told it would be at midnight. When I arrived before midnight and payed double the cover I was expecting for me and my friend, they announced the winners of the costume contest. Not only did they give me the incorrect information about when the contest was, but also at no point did they post information on how the contest would work. I feel like I was cheated out of $20 and a contest that I spent time planning my costume to enter. Place looks great I guess. read more

This review gets a single star because we attempted to enjoy the Millikin Faculty Jazz but didn't feel like standing for the session. There were, however several table marked reserved for MU Alumni that remained open during the 15 minutes we waited for something to free up. I can only hope for LSB that the alumni showed up after we left and spent their money like we had intended to and enjoy the great sounds. We will still come back, but just a disappointing event to miss listening to. read more

My wife and I went to LSB for dinner on a Thursday night. As we entered three things struck us: the interior design was very impressive; there were very few people there, and they were mainly older people; there were several awards hanging on the wall recognizing it for having Decatur's best bands and bar. My wife and I don't drink, so that wasn't impressing me, but I was hoping the awards would apply to the food as well. Unfortunately, it did not. I ordered the chicken pony shoe. The chicken was tough (looked like it was frozen chicken), and the fries were barely warm (the also looked frozen). My wife's hamburger lacked seasoning and looked liked it was a frozen patty from an assembly line. The only highlight was their homemade chips that came with my wife's hamburger. Service was good, not spectacular. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. I'm guessing people must go there on the weekends to party not to eat. read more

Beware of ordering mixed drinks. A group of us have gone for taco night several times. The taco bar is great! But we all ordered mixed drinks with vodka. No vodka was put in our drinks. Several of us had 3 or 4, and one person had 7 drinks. (2 is my normal limit). We all were fine. I would recommend wine or beer if you go. The patio is nice, the taco bar is really good, and the music is nice. read more

It was great news to hear of the reopening of Lock, Stock and Barrel, but it has a ways to go before it measures up to it's old standard. Ate there twice this week, once for lunch and once for dinner. It is not a great atmosphere for dinner as it very noisy- accoustics seem to be making noise worse rather than holding it down, but main concern was food and service. Both times it took way too long to get our food. Easily an hour from order to delivery of food to table. Then food quality was not good. Soup was downright cold. French fries had been hot once, but were now only slightly warm. Entrees lacked flavor and were not hot on arrival at table. Food prep has always been a very positive aspect of LSB, not sure what happened during remodeling, but they need to get their act together quickly. People won't continue to come on the basis of good old memories when current delivery and prep of food are so terribly lacking. read more
