Cons: 1) It's hard to find a single complaint...but I guess if I had to name one, there are plenty of parking but they are not close to the playground. Then again, the purpose to visit a playground isn't merely for children to have fun, but it is also an opportunity for adults to collect vitamin D and log some steps!

A mom-of-two's (a toddler and preschooler) straight-forward review -…read more Pros: 1) The playground is vast with various activities that applies to younger and older children - climbing ropes, bridge, rock climbing wall, various slides, zip line, monkey bars, etc. My younger daughter is 2.5 years old and love walking across the bridge. There are ropes to hold to but the little daredevil in her would just run across so it is important to be watchful of the child and be sure they won't trip and fall through the ropes. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There is a splash pad in between the toddler and older children sections. I am uncertain when it actually turns on. We have been twice, once at 9 AM and a second time at 3:30 PM. It was on in the afternoon and several kids were running in and out of the splash pad. It's a great option to have when it's hot and sunny out. 4) There are six tennis courts nearby and this works out perfectly for our preschooler to squeeze in a tennis session with her daddy before or after the playgrounds. Cons: 1) Not a con at all - But the playground is so vast that I can barely capture the whole frame in one picture!

There are a variety of options for kids of all levels, no matter what the weather. Bring snacks or picnic food, and plan to stay hours. There are very old trees that provide shade and plenty of park benches to sit and enjoy nature. The children love to play at the water fountain, I'm sure, over the years, some have fallen in. There is a path that crisscrosses the park and the art festival is set up along that path. The location of some of the booths, under the trees and facing a certain direction, provide a wonderful cross breeze so you are not sweltering inside the booth. However, some booths are located in the sun without the benefit of the breeze and limit the amount of time you can enjoy that particular display. Just a great location to pass some time with nature. Instead of a permanent resolution, the approach has reportedly been temporary suspensions followed by reinstatement--after which similar concerns continue to surface. If accurate, that is not a meaningful safeguard but rather a cycle. When an organization is aware of repeated allegations involving minors and continues to allow the same individual back into that environment, it raises serious questions about judgment, oversight, and priorities. At a minimum, it suggests a failure to put adequate protections in place for staff. This is not about one incident--it is now a repeated pattern with clear evidence that the executive director and board do not care about the safety of the young women they employ. Anyone considering employment here, or parents with kids working here, should be asking very direct questions about how harassment is addressed and what protections actually exist in practice. The parl district's mandated sexual harassment training for their staff while doing nothing to protect them from harassment from their precious paying members. Until there is clear accountability and transparency, this is a concern the community should take seriously.

I thought that we'd end up staying a couple of hours but we were there all day. Our kids had a blast there's so much to do inside and outside for little people, and they both fell asleep in their car seats on the way home. Thanks for a great day.
