There were no more than 10 customers in the building when we arrived, only 3 of whom were still ordering. We waited more than 10 minutes just to place our order. Another 10-15 minutes later, one sub came out, and then another 5 minutes the second came out. I was hoping that because of the wait, it'd be a GREAT sub. There was nothing great about it. The bread was 85% of the sub. The other ingredients (i.e. chicken, onions, tomato, cheese, etc.) was VERY limited. Also, the bread was very spongy, which to me indicates less than natural ingredients. We will NOT be going back to this place. You can get a much better sub from Subway, Quizzno's or D'Angelo's. I got a large chicken Caesar sub, and let me tell you that sucker was huuuuuugeeeee and very very tasty although messy and hard to eat. It seemed expensive at first 8.99 for a large but when I saw how big it was it was a bargain. My only complaint is when you go in its not clear where you or what the different sizes are. I just tried The Godfather for the first time on the everything hero roll. I must say my favorite subway shop is still in Brooklyn, on Bergen St. 50 yards from my first apartment. They still make the best sandwiches hot or cold. But DiBella's is a great substitute since 1) I no longer live in Brooklyn and 2) I don't eat as many subs as I used to. I usually get the chicken Philly sub when in town the last 2 occasions the service has gone downhill. Dibellas wins the sandwhich wars in this area based on their multigrain bread alone. It's actually a dark grain with lots of seeds in it. It's fresh and cripsy and chewy....sooooo good! Blows away Subway and Quiznos alleged wheat rolls. So why only 3 stars? Very skimpy with their fillings. Yes, the bread is so good you can eat it plain, but that's not what I am spending $6 for... a loaf of bread. I don't care how good it is. I want a sandwich that has ample filling! Dibella's skimps big time. The only sandwich that is loaded is the meatball so that's my go to sandwich but sometimes I want something different and when I do order something else, I am always disappointed with the amount of filling and kick myself! They either need to put more stuff on it or they should make their loaves smaller. Way to much "empty" bread here. Subway wins in this department as you can barely close the sandwich after adding all the toppings! DiBellas also loses a star for their very odd way of paying. If I wasn't an honest person, I could get out of there paying for a small sub although I actually walked out with 3 large ones. There is no rhyme or reason to how they do this...you place your order with the sub maker and take a number then go to the register and tell them what you ordered. Then you pay and walk away and wait on the side for the sub maker to call your number, then you take your order and you leave. So how do they know you paid for everything or anything for that matter? And how does the cashier know what you really ordered????? Very bizarre! Maybe it's the honor system? I don't get it. I ordered a catering platter from Dibellas for the first time last weekend and was extremely happy with how the order came out. I ordered a large platter with The Godfather, The Old Fashioned, and then just Roast Beef with Swiss and Turkey with American. I ordered at 10am and picked up at 12:30pm. I could tell that they didn't make the sandwiches at 10, throw them in the fridge, and wait until my pick up two and a half hours later. The sandwiches were extremely fresh and I could tell they were made within 15-20 minutes of my pick up. They not only included mustard and mayo, but also their famous oil. There were folks at the party who had never tried Dibellas but I'm sure they will visit in the very near future. Keep up the good work, keep hiring good people that are attentive and take customer service seriously, and you'll continue to see this Dibellas site thrive on a very competitive and saturated Boston Post Road. read more

I recently noticed this restaurant on the way to costco and been thinking to visit for the last 3 weeks but not sure how long it have been there. Finally today stepped in. The order process is similar to sub way/ Choose your bread and stuff. Based on my food preferences, I choose Chicken philly with Multi Grain. The preparation Process took 15 minutes and my order number is typo'ed. So I have to double check again even I could see it delivered in front of me. Taste is ok ( I am seriously hungry to be honest after weekend Shopping) but not a 'Wow' as I have imagined. May be Its due to too much oil pored on the griddle (heating plate). Seating and ambiance made me feel relaxed. I want to give a try one more time but seriously doubt it. If I were the Manager, I try to do the below. 1) Order Workflow: Setup token number display system so that you don't need to wait in the line. At least can be relaxed without worry about your order getting cold. ( watching over the preparation killed my apatite.Is it true with everyone or the case with only me.) . Food Industry is well established and sterio-typed. So this very core order taken and delivery process shouldn't have been flawed. 2) Convenience: Include the Trays to hold the food. I felt not comfortable to have food in the paper. 3) Work Force: I am not sure whether my observation is True. All the Staff is Male. Doesn't the decent ratio of Man & Women made customers feel more welcome particularly in the Food Business. 4) Feedback: As this is appears to be New, I guess some managers move around and taking the feedback and try to improve the things. I have given them 2 try and the 2nd was worse than the first. The first time based on reviews I ordered a cold sub the godfather. On plain bread. I got the sauce on the side so it would not be soggie. The vinegar was on the side but when I got back the wetness of the tomatoes and veggies made it sloppy and the bread was way to thick. The bread to filling ratio was off and the meat was just ok. 2nd visit was tonight. I walked in the door at 8.25. They close at 9.00pm. There were a few people in front of me waiting. They told them they were short on bread sizes. I figure ok they do close in 30 minutes I guess I can see this. Then I wait for 5 minutes before I am acknowledged and able to order. Mid way through my order the phone rings and the guy goes to answer and leaves me to take a to go order. I had asked for a medium everything and all they had was large left I had said ok. By the time he comes back the guy next to me wanted 2 subs with everything so as the guy finally walks back I tell him to switch to Multigrain so they can have it. What iritates me here is the complete lack of communication between the crew. Before they guy took the phone order he could have pulled my bread so the rest knew what was available. He comes back and makes my sub and ask me what kind of cheese. Then he walks over and makes it and wraps it. I assumed he would ask if I wanted toppings before wrapping and he did not so I had to ask for a side of peppers. I walk out the door and he comes behind me to lock the door at 8.40. So close early because you are low on bread. They seriously need training. I have never been to a subwat, jimmy johns, or Mikes and seen one close early due to not making enough bread. Overall their bread to meat filling is off. Way to much bread and their meat quality is the same as subway if not worse. I say skip them and go to subway at least they know how to make enough bread and don't close early. read more

There is a decent selection of specialty subs (both hot and cold). You can also build your own sub with a selection of 4 different rolls (plain, multigrain, etc.). I had the chicken philly, and my wife built her own sub. It's a solid sub for the price. They are actually quite large. The small was sufficient. The large was overkill for a single meal. We have given this place numerous of chances to possibly get better but every single time they somehow let us down. Not a single employee there seems to know what they are doing. It takes them 10 min to make a sandwich which they can't make right, and they say, "what?" Several times like they are stoned or something or they're just incompetent. Nobody in there greets you. One of my favorite sandwich shops around. I really like Dibella's old fashioned style subs. The bread is great and even simple things like turkey and cheese taste better than most anything around. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and expense to running a big place like this. You might have to wait a few minutes for hot subs since they actually cook the meat rather than just warm-up prepared stuff. I hope people support this place. They make some of the best subs anywhere, especially for a franchise. The biggest problem is that they run out of multigrain bread EVERY SINGLE DAY and don't bother making any more for the last several hours that they are open. Worst Subs I've ever had in my entire life! Totally without taste or any creativity, just total garbage. We had a Steak & Cheese with everything, it tasted microwaved with poor quality so called steak, YUK! I got The Godfather; an italian cold cut sub. Was absolutly what I wanted. Delicious and im sure well over 1000 calories. I ordered a large sub with plenty of fixings including hot peppers, O&V, tomatoes, mustard..other stuff too. Also I got the "everything" bread (think everything bagel). Man. So good. I could only eat half the sandwhich. My sister ate some of the other half that night and she felt the same way I did. A+ and well done to this chain. When I asked what it said, he read me the part that WASN'T blocked. 4. I had to ask him if there was anything else I could put on my sub. 5. I asked for a small amount of hot peppers. He put on spoons full. 6. I noticed it and said something. He took off a small bit. 7. When I got the sandwiches, I had to ask them where to go next - there was no one at the register. 8. As of May 3, 2012, DiBella's has been open for less than two weeks. I recommend that customers wait until about June 1. Let them figure out how to bake the bread, take orders, and make sandwiches. Decent submarine sandwiches. They use the long form of terminology here to describe what some call simply a sub around here or hoagie, hero, wedge elsewhere. They bake their own bread and often during the day so that's pretty great. I've had two varieties of fillings, cold cuts and meatballs. Both of good quality but the meatball sub was far more weighty. I give their meatball sub a 4.5 for content and flavor of the meat and sauce. All in all they could do better. When marketing a sub shop in a locale like Milford CT it's important to check the competition. read more
