The only downsides to this track are that its concrete and sometimes you will have to share with a class that's out walking. Upon arrival, there's plenty of visitor parking in front of the stables. I took a Lyft but there didn't seem to be any issues. There's also room to park by the lake next door. The property is too lovely to describe - you just have to go. The Soft Society event included a specialty matcha drinks, a Pilates class, feeding the horses and making floral arrangements. The owners were on site to answer questions and support with feeding the horses. They were so patient and excited to eat the carrots and apples we had. They posed for photos and were the most gentle animals. The grounds are several acres - we did Pilates on a grassy hilltop then did the bouquets by the lake. We passed other women riding and grooming the horses in the stables. They all looked well fed, the area was clean and well maintained. By the lake - several cars were parked to fish. There's also trails to hike. They have a couple of tiny houses on the grounds too that help non-traditional people that need housing. It's a great place to visit, easy to get to and I can't wait to get back!

I'm like many people in Atlanta: I own a bike, I like riding, I frequent the Beltline and other rail trails, but I'd like to be more independent and confident in cycling in and around the city. Atlanta has made great strides towards being more bike-friendly, but it still takes a bit of gusto to get comfortable riding on the road. This class helps with that. First off, the class was FREE due to a grant. However, I would have paid for it in a heartbeat. It was super helpful and really just enjoyable. We talked about bike safety basics, some basic bike maintenance tips, and did drills on signaling, watching for traffic, riding in a straight line, dodging road debris, and group ride safety. Then we did a group ride around the city. The class was 9-1:30ish, and I thought it was a perfect length. The group ride was the most amazing part. We rode from ABC's office in Cabbagetown through Grant Park, to downtown, Midtown, O4W, and back. I can honestly say that I never thought I'd ride my bike in some of those areas, just because of traffic and the state of the roads. Nedra made the whole ride seem easy and fun. She not only led us, but also took the time to share little info nuggets. I thoroughly recommend this class, and I will be checking out some of ABC's other programs in the future!

As a California native, I grew up with large, wide bike lanes on most major streets- and for those…read morestreets with no bike lanes, they were usually plenty wide enough to share with other motor vehicles. So when I came here to ATL, I hated the fact that it is so dangerous to ride on streets especially on the way to Emory (I've had some classmates get hit by cars and have to go to the hospital). I just took the beginners class on urban cycling offered by Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (formerly Atlanta Bicycle Campaign)- and it gave me a great primer on how to safely ride throughout the city, in just about every circumstance. It's a ~4-5 hour long class, which not only teaches you concepts via very helpful videos, but also teaches you some techniques to avoid bike accidents through demonstrations and practice time (everyone brings their bikes to class). The going rate for this class is ~ $25, but for students, it's only $10!! If you want to be more comfortable with using your bike around town, this class is definitely worth your time (and money)! There are 4 tennis courts that have automatic lights at night! They are numbered 1-4 starting at the last court on the left. You do have to make a reservation so keep that in mind. The day we visited, we were assigned court 3. I couldn't locate the numbers and later realized they are at the bottom corner of each court. Somebody was on our court but we simply remained on our court since nobody ever showed up. Not a big deal but I have seen scenarios where this can go wrong! Today, the park is baseball and tennis and some walking on the varied terrain. A bunch of folks were walking dogs in addition to the sports playing. While some riders seemed to enjoy an open road and easier navigation, my families ride took place in a wood area. In hindsight, this terrain was not ideal for all participants as it involved constant walking over rocks, branches and muddy trails. Though I paid $85 per person, I'm uncertain if I received the full experience advertised by the ranch, especially when comparing it to what others have shared about their rides. Additionally, we were advised not to b ring our cell phones along to prevent losing them on the trail, resulting in the disappointment of not having any photos of our horseback riding experience. While I personally had a great time, reflecting on the discrepancies between our ride and what seems to be advertised for other guest has left me unsure about recommending this ranch to others. However, its important to note that this review is solely on my own experience and others may have different perspectives. The one photo provided I took prior to us leaving out on the trail I then left my phone to avoid losing as I was directed.

Not only did she pick up on me and the commands I was quickly taught but she also listened to Mr. Daryl's commands while he rode on another horse in front of us. My kids love to walk, run, hangout in the wagon while we enjoy a nice stroll. Morning walks are definitely the best as it super quiet and I'm able to really just take in all the peace and quiet that being on the trail brings. Of course it get busier during the weekends but because the trail extends such a long distance, I've never felt that it was overcrowded and there are plenty of places where you can park and hop on the trail. It was just as nice as I remembered, maybe even a little nostalgic for me. The trail was calm and not too busy, but there were still enough people around to feel comfortable/safe without feeling crowded. It's perfect for families out for a stroll or a casual bike ride, and also great for runners and more experienced cyclists. Fall seems like one of the best times to visit. The tall trees lining the trail were beautiful, creating a really serene atmosphere. I genuinely enjoyed every minute of it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy some quiet time outdoors. Being outside and taking in the beauty of it all was motivation enough to keep walking, and we ended up walking for a little over 4 miles. A great alternative for a trail in the metro area if you don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of the beltline. Can't wait to go back!
