Was at the beginning of a 1900 mile road trip with my motorhome when I drove over something on the freeway. The vehicle ran loud after. Found a disconnection in the lengthy exhaust system. Time was of the essence. I communicated this to the Manager. Knowing this made me vulnerable to price gouging. However, they quickly moved another car off the rack, made the repair, making sure to thoroughly weld the the new piece in place. Then they charged me what I felt was a very reasonable fee, that could easily have been higher. My motorhome runs quieter than before the damage and I was back on the road quickly (less than an hour). I'd recommend this place to everyone. My catalytic converter was stolen while visiting family over Christmas. Insurance sent me to Bobs Muffler, who installed a new catalytic converter and O2 sensors. Bobs did not and refused to connect the O2 sensor, saying "We don't do that, we're just a muffler shop". Made no sense. Insurance arranged to have my car taken to Dick's instead, and the service I received there was stellar. They attached the sensor in a day, and when I came back to town to pick up my car I decided to go in to get some leaks addressed. They did a tune up and fixed an oil and transmission leak same day, and the price was more than fair. Talked it over with the P.I.C. and told them to call me when they had a chance to look at it. They called me just a few hours later with a estimate and when repairs would be done. I was so pleased that they have a waiting area for customers (in AC which is a ++) I originally came in to get my front brakes changed. During the free brake inspection, Hector looked at the struts as well. He showed me an example of how struts should work in the waiting area & then took me out to my car to show me the conditions that mine were in. He didn't try to hassle me about changing them right away, but did give me a break down on how much they cost (high & low). As I was waiting on my brakes to be worked on, I thought heck; I'll just get my struts changed as well. So Hector took the time to pull up the prices again and gave me not one, but two honest prices and didn't just give me an outrageous price from the top of his head. Last Friday morning, Our truck began to leak oil on the last hill up the Tehachapi pass. We were towing a gooseneck trailer as well! :( The rear main seal had finally failed. We were able to get it to Bakersfield, an unknown area to us, where we called several transmission shops. All were busy but recommended Hector at Dicks muffler . Hector worked diligently for the rest of the day and Saturday to fix the truck. His prices are extremely fair as well! Hector also found another oil leak from the a hose leading from the injector pump to the turbo. He would not let me pay him for fixing it even though he had to turn away to customers who needed his services.
