Service requested was haircut and beard trim. I selected appointment with Mario. I was extremely satisfied with cut and beard. I showed him a picture of my haircut that I normally get and explained what I wanted for my beard. Exactly as I requested, only better. He did a great job and decent price. Oh, he trimmed eyebrows and ears too. I appreciated his use of a straight razor for clean lines and neck. I will definitely schedule with him in a few weeks. I like the service station vibe. It's a cool concept. However, it's pretty loud. Seems like non stop chatter and air hoses. One female barber was loudly dressing other barbers down. Then making inappropriate comments about a previous customer who had left. I found her loud, obnoxious and unprofessional. This place is pretty busy, so I would highly recommend an appointment. Fantastic haircut for a great price in a fun environment, possibly the gayest barbershop in south Florida. 5 star service: for a great price, $20 you get a great haircut. My favorite barber is Will, and you can book online 5 star ambiance: right in the heart of what passes for downtown Oakland park, it's got ample parking. Inside it's open and bright. Probably the best part about Dick's is that they have kept their prices reasonable. While everyone has been raising prices (and they have too, a little bit), Dick's has managed to remain affordable. Most of the barbershops in the area seem to think their barbers deserve the same salary as surgeons, but Dick's appreciates that their customers work hard and need to watch our wallets. It's great that they understand this. I've been to several of their barbers over the years. Bob was my first, and his passing was very sad. But they have great people there, and they are all knowledgeable and helpful. My hair often looks like I stand in hurricanes for a living, so I do appreciate when someone can look at it and in a few minutes make me look better. The barbers at Dick's are able to do that. About a week ago I went to get my haircut with Rob who is the best of the best. My review in no way reflects Rob's professional manner. Rob always makes me feel comfortable and takes pride in his work. Apparently when I booked my online appointment on Google website, it booked me with the wrong Barber which was no fault of mine. This is the first time it has ever happened. Anyway, in order to correct the situation another barber told me did I book my online appointment through Google. I said yes. Then he rudely told me that next time I will be charge if it happens again. Now why would I be charged for a online Google glitch? He then gave me Dick's service station card with a QR code and said scan the QR code to book your future online appointments. Then ordered me to "SIT DOWN." I did not come into Dick's barber shop to be scolded nor reprimanded. If you're going to tell a customer to sit down say it politely. For instance, "Please have a seat." Management needs to know this type of customer treatment cannot be tolerated. read more

When I told him I wanted him to redo the sides because I didn't care for them and make them a little shorter... He told me he was in a rush and he would have to charge me for a second haircut if you were to redo my sides... This is some lousy customer service. I am so happy I was recently refused service by barber Rob at Dick's (and for no apparent or even explained reason) because I was forced to find another barber. I have since found a wonderful barber (21 years in the business) in Hollywood (Santo's Barber Shop) who acts professionally - instead of like a teenager, is respectful, spends an adequate time cutting my hair, cuts my hair correctly, doesn't have a bad attitude and APPRECIATES my business. Today I decided to walk in for a haircut, there was maybe 2 to 3 customers in the shop, and five barbers sitting on their asses playing on their cell phones....so I I thought to myself "perfect they can take me as a walk-in... " I have VERY short hair, which is a grown out, military cut, and asked for a quick trim, which would've literally taken a professional barber. maaaaaybe 10 minutes at the most to trim me up, and get me out the door ...., they said "ALL OUR BARBERS ARE all booked up" and they couldn't make an appointment for me until tomorrow... ‍ lol well as an intelligent man and resident for 6 years of the neighborhood I couldn't believe what he was telling me. I quit going to this place right after I moved here in 2018 because the 2 times I had them trim me up-haircuts were so bad I had to go elsewhere. I LITERALLY could do a better job myself at home. ...any of those guys could've sat me down, trimmed him up and still had enough time to get ready for the next appointment. Just another daily encounter of incompetent laziness and typical Floridian behavior, such as I witnessed today. I literally turned around and walked right out the door shaking my head in utter disbelief. Hum, well I went here mostly to get a razor shave and I requested one in my reservation. But I was never asked and I wasn't feeling great so I didn't bring it up. But silently, I was disappointed. My guy was Rich. He was very clean cut and offered to slip me in early. Which was nice, as I had arrived a bit before my schedule. The place was very clean. There was bustle to the service and they seemed to do a brisk business. I liked Rich's scissor skill. You could tell he knew what he was doing and made me feel confident I was going to get a good cut. I did feel slightly rushed. But maybe that is the nature of serious barber professionalism. I liked the cut and because I wasn't feeling well was happy to be in and out. I will try again and hold out for a razor shave. read more

This is an IPhone barber shop! Its 2023 and this place is an iPhone iPad internet Barber. It's all about the electronics! As soon as you walk in it's about the large computer screen JumboTron on the wall keeping track of the barbers like a Las Vegas casino keno board! Yikes ! Everyone is concentrated on what time of the day it is, who is on duty who's off who's next who's running behind who failed to show up on and on! The days of walking into this barber to get a haircut by chance are LONG gone. The only encouragement you might get to stay and hope to get a hair cut as a walk in is if one of the barbers has a prearranged Internet cancellation. It's all about internet connections, computer screens hand held devices and the ability to select a barber and time and date in order to get a hair cut at this place. I just moved to Oakland Park from NYC and my hair was getting a bit shaggy from not knowing where to go. I had spotted this place on a walk and then was recommended to me. So it's a very nice barbers inside with several people working at once. It does say walk ins are welcome but you probably need to book as people's calendars fill up. You can see on a display as you walk in that they are all very busy. I had a 30 minute slot for a $14.99, half of my usual free in NYC and just as good a cut. My husband also loves what Billy does with his hair. Billy is a very efficient barber, working his magic in a very short amount of time. Many years ago they did this to me at this same place, but it is my own fault to go back to places like this, where doing the right thing is just not in their small brains. Will try to summarize my experience with this place. I made an appointment to get the next available barber, next to me in my car was my boyfriend I didn't had a clue he also wanted a haircut keep in mind He didn't had an appointment . When I get there before I can said anything and look around I see William working on my boyfriend , doing a haircut , not even caring for who was next on the list , just because they know each other William skipped my turn. I waited because my boyfriend didn't have a way to get home .Finally after they finished with his haircut they called me . My appointment was scheduled with next available barber at 11:00 AM. What a joke this place is .Again is not the fault of anybody but my own to go back to places where doing the right thing is not in their vocabulary, where they have no clue what client means , where customer retention is something they probably heard but have no clue what it means , where education and good manors is something that is way to far from their brains. The website from yelp didn't work so I called and spoke to a stylist who was in the middle of a cut to come in. So when I got there a barber that was I between a cut told me the website and got me the next appointment, which was about a half hour away. There about ten stations and about six barbers were there, no receptionist. I got the only lady and after describing what I wanted she was very meticulous and got a great cut. Prices are based on 15 minute steps. The place has a retro gas station theme with I Love Lucy on the TVs and songs from the 50s. The culture is a community of barbers helping do what needs to be done, and a system of scheduling that allows for breaks in between appointments. Which are all made online and a big screen TV showing what barber is in what station, and the times in descending order and the names of clients. Very efficient and cool vibes. read more
