They always seem to get the latest trending collections in bulk, which makes it easy to find the perfect gift for anyone. Need something for a game? Head to Dick's! Came in here to try on some Hoka shoes for work to make sure I knew why style and size I wanted. The staff seemed to not really be interested in helping and it was like you were pulling teeth. Just low energy and poor customer service in my opinion. Even though they brought the shoes out you could tell it was like you were bothering them. Thankfully I found then type of shoe/style I wanted and opted to purchase it online because the pair I wanted was the display shoe and I didn't want a shoe that was touched on by tons of people. I've been here a few times. The last time I made a purchase here, I bought a Yeti bottle that was on sale. After check out, I noticed that it was rung out full price, had to jump back in line to get it fixed, didn't receive an apology for the mix up and wasted about an hour of my time. These most recent experience wasn't even worth it to jump in line. The lines were so long it wrapped around racks/the escalator with only one person at t the register. I just feel bad for those people where there are multiple registers, but minimal help. I would have purchased 3 things, but like I said, it just wasn't worth the wait. read more

I learned not to shop at Dick's Sporting Goods on Monday morning. Big store! Good selection! Sale prices! But, on this particular Monday morning, the staff appeared focused on tasks other than customer service. Some busily ran to and fro (restocking or checking stock?). Others gazed bleary eyed into electronic devices. I wanted to try on items, so spoke to one of the bleary-eyed screen gazers, who told me to go find a dressing room on the main floor, and ring the buzzer. Someone will come to help you. I buzzed and waited x 2. I looked around to catch the eye of anyone. But everyone kept running to and fro or looking into devices. Sizing up the possible purchase items by eye, I just couldn't get comfortable buying without getting into the locked dressing room, and trying the fit. Realizing it would be more of a chore than I anticipated, I hung up the items, and departed. Sorry no sale, DSG, perhaps I'll try back another day/time. read more

As others have pointed out, Dick's isn't the best place if you are looking for advice or help. Their workers typically steer clear of offering assistance. They can be found if you look around enough. However, Dick's makes up for it in selection. For not being a specialized store, they still have a wide selection in each of their product categories... thanks to their large, expansive store. I recently visited for golf equipment. They have more equipment and selection than some of the specialized stores in the area. Price tend to be elevated at Dick's though. So if you're looking to save a buck, you might go to a discount store or online. read more

I came here a while ago to buy some running gear -- tights, socks, etc. Aside from the prices being absolutely ridiculous, the service was nonexistent. I went on a weekday afternoon, and the store was practically empty. I mosied around the running section for at least 15 minutes. I saw lots of employees walk past me, yet no one stopped and asked if I needed any help. Although I eventually found what I needed, it would have been nice to have been offered some help. My boyfriend was upstairs in the camping section and experienced the same thing. No service whatsoever. I'll never come back. Next time I want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for fitness gear, I'll hit up REI. read more

I saw a pair of Adidas pants online that I liked and it's nice that the website has the feature that tells you what stores have them in stock. This location has its good and it's bad. Good: 1. Generally friendly staff. 2. Good location. 3. Good gun pricing randomly. 4. Online pickup is wonderful! 5. Interesting layout, very open. 6. They carry a few things Bass Pro and Cabela's doesn't. Bad: 1. It's not very organized. 2. Finding staff can be difficult sometimes. 3. West County Mall parking can be a major pain in the arse. 4. Non-sale items are always a bit overpriced. Overall I still go, but if I find a better option, I'm taking it. read more

in w county mall, at I-270 & manchster rd. they 're usually first to have the newest styles in crocs - before the kiosks. i bought some deck chairs on sale there this summer. after 2 weeks the vinyl on the arms started peeling up all around the edges. i called & asked to speak to the manager of that department. whoever i spoke with told me, "buy superglue." huh??? so i went down there and asked someone in person, who told me to "bring them in & get a refund." alrightythen! did that. no problems, and the people who helped me with the returns were helpful & pleasant. told me those chairs are on re-call anyway... read more

Beware all boxes will be missing parts - I watched this happen. I bought 1 pair of snowboard bindings from Dick's - it took three trips to get all the parts (I live 45 minutes away). Each time they took parts from other boxes and left the boxes on the shelf. I watched a manager re-tape a box shut. This seems to be a thing at West County Dick's - I feel bad for the next guy, but they don't seem to care. Now the next guy has to make at least 2 trips - if he knows what he is missing and then they take from the next box. They could have just given me a new set of bindings - they didn't. Both times managers and employees just took from other boxes. Must be policy. A co-worker had the same issue with a ping pong table. If it has more than 1 part don't buy it from Dick's West County. I guess it is no sweat to them if you have to make 3 trips to get your parts. read more

Occasionally you will find some deals on clearance here. Most of the time they are a bit spendy, their customer service absolutely blows, and their selection isn't the best. But still worth a look if you are in the area. read more

I came here to buy a swimsuit that I can swim my weekly laps in. This place has a great selection (although not the greatest selection). Sizes are a hit & miss unless you wear larger sizes. But, it was much better than Macy's. I agree with Stephanie S. about the prices (unless it is on sale). That being said the employees weren't of much help in regards to quality of clothing brands & fashion sense. Don't come here alone if you are intending to buy some clothes & are indecisive on what looks good on you. The layout of the store is a bit haphazard. It took forever to find the swimsuits. They were hidden & near the unused climbing wall. If memory serves me right, they have a climbing wall but don't have climbing gear. That is totally wrong in my book. If you have a wall, then you should sell the gear as well like REI does. Would I shop here again? Maybe if I can't find it at REI. read more

Overall, I like to shop at Dicks. We have purchased sports equipment, work out clothes, shoes, and so on. Today was a bit disappointing. Dicks is an "out of the way" drive for me. Not easy to maneuver with two little tots in tow (and stroller). We spent about 45 minutes shopping. I had to hunt down an employee to help us in shoes. My older daughter looked and tried on multiple athletic shoes. She decided on a pair of Nike shoes that were out on the floor and on DISPLAY for customers to purchase. We then proceeded to check out and are told we could not purchase the shoes. Nike had not released them to be sold yet. What???? That's not our fault. The manager should not have put the shoes on the floor to be sold. What a waste of our time. 1 1/2 hrs. of wasted shopping time and a disappointed daughter.
