This Dick's is in the Gulf Town Center. It is a very large, organized and well-stocked store. They have a large selection and wide variety of sporting goods. I was specifically looking for athletic shoes and they just didn't have what I wanted. I will say that their prices for specific shoes were about $10 higher than other nearby retailers. Typical dicks sporting goods! Very clean place with a multitude of options! Very cute athetiwear for girls and TONS of Nike shoe options! I'm a tennis player so my tennis selection was very good! Well priced! Almost no people inside so it was a very quick check out line. My favorite Dicks in the area. Two large stories of awesome merchandise. Went looking for kayaks and they had quite a few , but did not end up buying one yet. Second floor is open which is cool. I've enjoyed Dicks Sporting Goods for years. Today will be the last time I spend a dime with this company. Let me just say you've done a terrible job pricing your items. We found 2 pairs of cleats that he liked but had to have Savannah, your employee, scan the boxes to find the price. The box with the Nikes we liked were $20 on her scanner. Boom, those are the ones he really wanted so we decided to get them. Also grabbed a ball and shinguards and would've grabbed goalie gloves if they had his size. When going to ring it up the price was almost $90 bucks. I asked how much the shoes were and was told $75. I said that can't be right, she scanned the box and her scanner said $20. They had a girl come over, then brought Savanah over. The one girl said to Savanah "which program did you use to scan the box" which tells me you have multiple ways to scan items. One girl kept showing me how you guys scan and it was another screen. I told her that only to be told no, this is what we use. However Savanah scanned and it was a light blue screen. The manager came over, didn't speak to me and told your employees to offer me another 20% off. Well that would still be $40 more than what I was told. Not acceptable. If I wanted to try to scam you guys I would've put the shoes in a box that was less. I just decided that I wasn't going to spend money with you guys but before leaving I wanted to talk to the manager on duty. She came over and I told her I'm a manager myself and the last thing I like is an upset customer but this whole thing really bothered me, that my son really wanted those cleats. That something is wrong here and I don't appreciate what's happening. Her reply, "I understand." that's it. I never yelled, I was calm but frustrated, but honestly you guys screwed up. I can't imagine anyone in higher up management is OK with this. I really hope other people know just how the people in this store are unwilling to work with you. I bought a Table tennis net here and was assisted right when I walked in . When I got off the escalator there was somebody waiting to help me. When I got home I realized I already had a net on the folded table. When I returned the net today I was assisted in a very professional manner. Dick's a huge sports store. I prefer them over Sports Authority in terms of better pricing and wider selection of sports. Store is similar to many other Dick's. I agree they have a shortage in staff. If you want true customer service and knowledgeable staff, you need to go to a specialty shop that will charge a premium. For general merchandise, here is the place to go. read more

Let me preface this post by saying that I worked for Dick's for 6 years ib their corporate office. That said, my expectations are a little high. I received good service from a lodge associate and a fashuon associate. They were helpful and friendly. Then I went to the cashier. Her name is Kayla. She did not greet me, talk to me, acknowledge me! She rang up my tennis balls and took my money and she didn't even thank me for shopping at Dick's! Wow! Amazed! The only place local that (at the time) had the foam weights for water aerobics. No one else carried them for some reason. I have seen the weights just a handful of times around the city, but generally speaking, this is the place people go to find them. Things are laid out in the store rather nicely, but it's a huge store. Easy to get lost. Only problem with the layout: there are some departments that are cramped. Some of the clothes racks are so close to each other, you can't pass between with out getting bumped by a hanger. read more

We went to 3 different Dick's in Florida to find Christmas gifts driving 45 minutes between each one and found nothing, not even a salesperson to help. Sad..very sad. Dick's is typically a great store but yesterday the staff, particularly a young woman with "Queen" so eloquently tattooed on her chest ruined that reputation. My mother and I were exchanging a defective bike tube. She did not greet us at the beginning of the exchange, did not utter a single word, put the receipt in front of my mother with a pen, still not saying a thing and the transaction ended. This review is more for the National chain in general rather than a single store. Ordered online on May 2, 2020 some fishing gear through a sale advertised in an email Dick's sent to me and as was confirmed on their website. Delivery came yesterday but apparently there was a mix up on the sale promotion in the order (got one fishing rod instead of the buy one get a second free). Went on Dick's chat online for help and was asked to provide a screen shot of the promotion from last week. A screen shot?? I was quite surprised as I'm not in the habit of taking online catalogue screen shots for any online orders (first time I've ever been even asked). I then asked if they had a record of their promotions and was told, no, they don't have records of promotions and they could only help me if I had proof (screen shot) of the promotion. Promo was only last week! Bottom line: I'm returning the whole order and will take my business to Bass Pro Shops from now on. read more

On December 31, 2013 I decided to purchase a spotting scope from a local retailer. I shopped around and called Dick's Sporting Goods. I asked if they had the product and model in stock and was told that they had a few. I drove the 15 miles to the store and went in. I was told by a sales clerk that they carry two models and what I wanted was not in the store. I will say this, "the name said it all as in they are DICKS". The manager Chris did not call me a liar but explained that I misunderstood what was told to me. I explained that I will post the experience so others will not misunderstand how business is done at this store. I live in Fort Myers and was told that a new Dicks will open soon. I cut out a Dicks ad for vmc coastal black salt water fishing hooks from a current fishing magazine .The add states " buy two packs of vmc coastal black hooks and get two free ". I have contacted several stores in the Florida market and could find no salt water vms coastal black hooks. On to customer service with (2) phone calls and I am in the same place I started from,-nowhere!!! They could offer no reason why the hooks do not show up in their system . If you do not carry the vmc coastal black circle fishing hooks why advertise their availability? I have wasted my time trying to get this problem resolved to no avail. I have been patronizing this store since it opened. We have no other Sporting Goods stores within a 15 mile radius of our home. On multiple occasions I have been completly dissapointed in the inventory and the customer service that is provided. More often than not, when looking at cleats, there is very limited options of sizes available. Today I was shopping for shin guards. The entire aisle was market with Red sale tabs on each rack. With varying prices on each tab. When they were rung up at full price I told the cashier I thought they were on sale. She was very skeptical, but walked over and I showed her. She said she'd have to ask the manager. The manager then came to the front and told me that what ever the price rung up as is correct. I told her to go look at the entire aisle. There were at least a 100 pieces of inventory that were hanging on those racks all marked down!!! She said "Oh, I wasn't aware...they are all missed marked. My employee must have messed up"! The ENTIRE aisle. So she said I can give you a sale price...which she picked was the highest sale price on the aisle. I said that's ridiculus that you are not going to honor the price that my item was on, along with 15 others exactly like it. I was so annoyed that a Store Manager couldn't honor the sale price that was listed because of the lack of her performing her own job and making sure her employees are organizing and marking inventory correctly. And just to be specific...this was not just one item that someone had misplaced onto a sale rack. This was an ENTIRE aisle in the soccer department. I'll be ordering my items online from now on, but not from Dicks. read more
