buckle your seat belt. I brought my 7 year old son into the store to buy a baseball bat. They have a cage for you to try out the bats. My son fell in love with one of them. The employee near by said that she could offer me the bat at a discount since there were no others available in the store. She asked her manager. This manager, Brandon, had zero customer service skills. He never said hello to me, didn't make eye contact. He said, "nope you can't buy that because it's probably available online" If this is Dick's policy, okay. It's a stupid one. I may have said, barely above a whisper, "that's bulls**t and you know it." Then he stepped up to my face and began berating me about my parenting skills. What?!? We then went to a nearby dick's and they at least 20 of that bat. (Would have been nice to be told this by instead of "it's probably online") ive worked retail - when you are out of inventory, you can buy the floor model. Further, they had at least 50 youth bats n the cage (all with prices, barcodes, etc) and, get this, 4 youth bats in stock. The policy aside, the rudeness was completely unacceptable. I went to Dick's Store in Midlothian to purchase tennis shoes and a jacket. Jala assisted me with a jacket and was even kind enough to bring out a large mirror so I could view myself in the jacket. Super helpful and friendly. The gentlemen in the shoe department was also very helful and kind. I would diffinitely go again. Great customer service at this store. Check out was a breeze! read more

I went to return something I was met my the assistant manager named Derick. He was by far the rudest person I have ever met. He was not helpful , talked down to me the whole time. Bragged how he had been there 15 yrs. If Dicks makes a habit of hiring people like him I will never do business with them again. On a good note I did go return what I need to at Monroe st store and the manager there listened to the situation , investigated , an he helped me with the return. Classic chain. Inventory catering to the masses, average service at best and the prices are good only at the end if the season certain years when they have sales. The environment is so so. The quality of products is hit and miss. They carry good brands of certain types of clothes or equipment but not others. I would consider this a utility sporting good stores for general needs. It has its place. If you are really into a sport, go to a specialty store, you may pay a little more or not, but the selection will be better and you will get better service by people that usually use the products. Info hate the fact you have to exit a different way you come in. This is really annoying. I also usually have to wait in line while there is some issue with a return or check out. read more

Stopped in a few months back to pick up a pair of shoes. Originally I was buying the pair from the mall location (great customer service by the way), but they didn't have my size. I was informed that this store had my size, long story short: when we arrived the customer service was horrible, especially in the shoe department. Employees were hanging out in the back, and literally took 20 minutes for an employee to help us. Only reason that happened is because we kept yelling for someone as we sprawled out on the benches waiting. During check out, we informed the manager about our experience: she really didn't give two shits. My only mistake was continuing with the transaction. read more

I went to this store today to see what sun glasses they had. I was waiting for the lady at the counter to assist me and she stopped to help these other people that came up so I had to wait for her to help these rude people who couldn't go up to customer service. I ended up walking out the lines where crazy and I couldn't purchase what I wanted at that counter. Did not have a good experience there and I will not be back. read more
