We went to Dick's Sporting Goods at Westroads Mall looking for soccer cleats for my daughter. She has very wide feet, which made finding the right pair extremely difficult. After searching around the store for a while, Rick came over to help us, and I'm incredibly glad he did. Rick was remarkably patient and genuinely committed to helping us find the right fit. My daughter tried on nearly a dozen different pairs of cleats, and Rick stayed with us through the entire process without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. Anyone who has shopped for kids' cleats knows how frustrating it can get, but Rick handled everything with professionalism and kindness. After two days of searching at different places, Rick was the one who helped us finally find a pair that fit well and worked for her wide feet. The price was very competitive as well! What impressed me most was how comfortable he made the experience for my daughter. She never felt embarrassed or pressured, and Rick treated the whole situation with patience and encouragement. That kind of service is rare. Rick was absolutely fantastic. I wish more retail employees had the tolerance, patience, and customer care he showed us. Honestly, he is one of the best people I have ever had help me in any store. Dick's Sporting Goods, give that man a raise. He is the best of the best. On cyber Monday, their app crashed therefore I couldn't use my 20% off coupon. I messaged with their customer service department. The website was working but not the app. I asked if I could get 20% off for the website they said no. I didn't have time to call on Tuesday to customer service so I called Wednesday. They told me since I waited a day. They also could not honor the 20% off. Therefore, I didn't buy anything from them. read more

I had a horrible and humiliating experience at this location. A security guard publicly accused me of shoplifting based on my past--even though I was spending over $350 and had a cashier confirm I brought the item into the store. I've been 100% compliant with Drug Court for 2 years and no longer engage in criminal behavior. The guard loudly referenced our shared incarceration and defamed me in front of staff and customers. Management dismissed my complaint the next day. This kind of public profiling and humiliation is not acceptable. I will never shop here again and am pursuing legal action. read more

This Dick's location is hard to review because while I've had great return customer service and bought multiple products from this Dick's in person (only one left in omaha) and mostly online, I've experienced the messy building and having to wait on a sales person to help me. The best: the merchandise options available are very good and lots to choose from (even though some areas are disorganized). While the front desk return customer service has been great to work with too! The worst: is expensive and their clearance items are not up to par, and having to wait for an associate to help you. One of my biggest pet peeves with Dick's is if you see an item online... don't be fooled, it may not be sold in your location! This is what drives me nuts about Dick's online. They will promote a product and then when you go to buy it, it's not shipped or sold in your area or even MOST areas. So truly the item is advertised, but not available. Alright, ready for this? I bought a bike about 3 years ago from this Dick's. I picked it out upstairs, spent a good $200 on it. I had the sales associate do whatever they need to do to get a bike ready for a customer. I buy the bike and walk out of the building with my family. I was so excited about getting the bike that I decided to hop on it and peddle to the truck. While this distance was less than 50 feet, I stood up on both peddles on the bike and ONE fell off! I went tumbling down to the ground scrapping my leg and putting a hole in my expensive pants. The response from Dick's you ask? "Oh we're sorry about that, let's put the peddle on right for you." No discount, no coupon for my next purchase... NOTHING. if I would've crashed worse, it could have been ugly. So while Dick's has some awesome sales with great products online, my experiences have been mixed. I often go to Dick's as they are one of the bigger fitness stores in the city. My husband and I purchased a number of items today, including a bicycle. The staff member that helped us was very knowledgeable, polite, and took care of us. We bought a number of accessories for the bicycle, and the staff member told us he just needed to take the bike back and do some quick checks on it, and then he would bring it to the front register so we could check out. He didn't say what he was checking, but whatever. He advised waiting 10 minutes before checking out, so we waited. After waiting, we checked out at the front and asked about the bike. "He just needs a few more minutes, because we are very busy today." No problem. My husband brings the car to the front, we load our other items, check on the bike again. Same answer as before. After waiting another 40 minutes and checking every 5, I ask for the manager. After asking if we could come back later (we couldn't) I just asked them to give us the bike whether it was ready or not. He had it in front of me in about 2 minutes after that. Apparently the reason the bike was taking so long was because the staff member was installing a kickstand - this kickstand has three bolts that are fastened with an Allen wrench, which would take about 3 minutes at the most, and we didn't even know that was what he was doing. We could have done that and saved ourselves an extra 35 minutes. Honestly, I would say the staff just forgot about us earlier, but seeing as we kept asking about the bike's status I think they just wanted us to go away. The manager was very polite and courteous. He gave us a small discount to help make things right, and I do appreciate that. This is probably just a bad experience, but hopefully they will be more communicative in the future. read more

If you are looking for a specific sports-related item, chances are that you will find it at Dick's. They even have ski gear here (yes, the selection is limited), but it's nice to know that if you need a pair of ski boots in the middle of the plains, you can find some here. Prices are sometimes a bit steep when compared to other similar stores, but their sales can easily make up for them. Make sure you price check around before committing to that "must have" item. read more

When your wife works at Westroads, you end up at the mall a lot. For me, Dick's is always a fun store to browse through. They have the basics covered for just about every sport you can image, from table tennis to hunting to my personal favorite, disc golf. That said, they only carry Innova disc golf products -- including DX, Star and Champion plastics, portable baskets, starter packs and bags. This is fine, but don't come here expecting a ton of variety. The key here for me is you can score some sweet deals when Dick's is offering one of its super sales, which the big chain stores often do. When are they going to have another $10 off any item in the store sale? read more

I am torn with this review. My husband and I buy a lot of things at Dick's. The prices are high, but the sporting apparel selection is the best in Omaha as far as we have seen. We have also purchased gym bags, and gifts for our grandkids here. Were my review based solely upon products, it would show 5 stars. I came in asking to be fitted for a pair of running shoes. The guy helping me didn't fit me at all, he just took me over to the running shoes, and handed me a pair. He said he'd be back in a minute, and twenty minutes later he's nowhere to be seen. Poor customer service. read more

This review is about customer service and mainly the head manager at Dick's and not in any way a review of the products offered or the whole store. Although I will say that after this experience, I will never shop at a Dick's again. I went here from out of town with my brother last week to buy a pair of sunglasses. The girl who helped me was college age and clearly had no clue about the sunglasses. She couldn't tell me anything about the quality of the lenses and had trouble figuring out how to get glasses out of the cases. Many of the glasses were on a rack of 3, and rather than take the whole rack out to get one pair, she tried hopelessly to grab one and failed. I had to initiate the sales process completely. After some awkward discussions, I finally settled on a pair of Bolle glasses with polarized lenses. The only problem was that they had no price tag. I asked if she could tell me the price and she had to call a manager. In the meantime, I asked if she could maybe look for the box to see if there was a price tag. She couldn't without the number. I explained that the number and name was on the earpiece of the glasses. Duh. She located the box, but still no price. While we waited for the manager to appear I asked if they had any other pairs other than the ones in the case. No, we only carry what is in the display. How could they have an inventory of 1 for each sunglass style? Doesn't make sense. Whatever. Can you clean them for me? I assumed they had a glasses spray and cloth at least. She just used the cloth from the box and wiped them. I could have done that! The manager who swung by, did a quick look at the glasses and the box and proclaimed them to be $99. The sales girl asked $99.99 or $99? He says $99. I was ok with that because that's the price point I was looking for. She had to bring the glasses and box to the register apparently with me and when they rung up, guess what? They were $129.99! Ok, so $30 isn't that much if you're already paying $100, but what about the principal? If you say it's one price to a customer and they agree to buy it, then that is the price you should honor. I wasn't happy so I asked to speak with a manager. A few minutes later the manager who originally gave the price of $99 AND presumably the head manager arrived at the register. After the sales girl explained the story, the head manager turns to me (mind you without saying hello or how can I assist you with this?) and says, "Well the price that comes up is $129.99, and that's the price we have to sell it at." In response, I said that I understood what the register shows, but what about the other manager next to him who said the price was $99? He tells me "Well we can't go off of that price." Not a very smart move. I replied "So what's the best you can do for me?" He tells me he can take $10 off the total. "Not good enough" I tell him. In my eyes, you should honor the price that you give to a customer, especially if it comes from a manager of the store. I don't care if the register rings up differently. That's a screw up and you eat the loss. It's better to lose $30 as a store, then to lose a customer for life. For him to only give me $10 off was not enough. I wanted to pay the $99 that was agreed upon. Since I'm a man of principal, I told him I wasn't satisfied. He looked at me sideways and basically said "too bad" without actually saying anything. I got the message loud and clear. I looked at him and asked if he was really willing to lose a customer over the situation. He just turned around and started to walk away. So I did the same. Buh bye. I now fully understand why the store is called Dick's. It's not a joke. In the end, I bought the exact same glasses on amazon for $95 total. Next time you need to buy something sporting goods related, or god forbid sunglasses, in Omaha and you're thinking of going to this store...do yourself a favor and look for it online. read more

I went to Dick's today to look for a new winter coat. I went upstairs and found several I wanted to try on. I tried to get one off the rack but realized they were all tied together and was not able to get it off the hanger. I looked all over the 2nd floor and there was not 1 sales person on that floor. I had to go down to the first floor to get help. I nice enough guy said he'd get someone for me. We went back upstairs and the guy went to a back room to get someone. We were then told only 2 people in the store had the keys to remove the locks on the coats. So, they go back downstairs to try to find someone with a key. After 5 minutes I left. I drove out to Scheels and went to the coat section. A sales person was right there to help me. I found a nice coat and purchased it. Went in to Dick's last night and it was a complete disaster! I had very limited time to accomplish one simple task: purchase two insulated water coolers for my daughters. This Dick's is located at one of the large local malls, and is typically never very crowded. This, however, does not stop the employees from doing their best to NOT help its customers. This sporting goods store is typically my "court of last resort" as I try to order everything online, or head out to the Scheels located further away. The Scheels has better customer service and more variety, two great reasons to drive an additional ten minutes... Which I didn't have last night. But I digress... This Dick's is an incredibly large store, with two floors and two check out areas. My daughter and I come in and begin to look for water coolers. Nothing on the first floor, and although we pass three employees, none seem too interested in aiding us. That's fine and typical, so we head upstairs to where the camping and outdoor sports equipment is located. We don't find a single employee up here and after about five minutes we find a wall of 1.9 L water coolers, ALL of them priced at $7.99. (Remember this...) We grab two Igloo brand containers and get downstairs to pay and get going. The checkout area heading to the parking lot is packed, but they have three employees ringing people up. My daughter and I head to the checkout area leading into the mall as it's usually much less busy, and I think forgotten by most patrons. We are correct, and there are only two people in line. They are each purchasing several tee shirts, buts that cool, as they should be done fairly quickly, and as we stand there another customer comes and stands in line behind us. After about seven minutes my patience begins to wane. I would think the customers gathering to check out would have been a HUGE red flag to the three, THREE!!, Dick's employees who were cavorting and carrying on about ten feet away in the golf section. My daughter knows I seek out good customer service like some people seek out fine wine, and she sees me trying to use eye contact and body language to make these three employees aware that they could actually, you know, be working! I get their attention and instead of helping, they take their conversation further down the aisle and begin tossing a football around. I. Shit. You. Not. I don't have time to find a manager, or chew these clowns out, but I can walk across the store to the other checkout area. We do so, and waste another five minutes. She's going to be late for basketball and I'm getting less and less happy by the second. We FINALLY get to check out. The female employee rings me up and says $21 and change. For two $8 water coolers? I tell her this and she tells me they ring up as $9.99. I don't have time for this and tell her what this wall of merchandise is priced at. She is totally put out because she is either going to have to find someone to do a price check, or she will have to do it. I make it easy on her and simply tell her that she can just put them back as I'm straight up pissed and have to get my kid somewhere more important than Dick's. Long story short, needed two water containers and went to the worst place imaginable. Horrible customer service. Don't patronize places that could give two shits whether you buy something from them or not. Not worth a full star. read more

Really not sure if I would even give them 1 star. I love the clothes but the store is a dump. Not sure if I will be going back. It has been that way the past 4 or 5 times I've been there but today it was gross. We were there right after they opened and walking up to the door I noticed the front doors need cleaned. When we got inside the tile floors need cleaned. The carpet had paper, clothes, and junk all over them. There was a used water bottle on the shelf and the clothes were everywhere. Racks were a mess. I can't believe I did this but I wanted to try on a couple things. As I entered the dressing rooms I noticed crap everywhere. I tried on a couple tops trying not to touch a thing and got out quick. The mirrors and lighting was really bad as well. I really don't get why it's always a mess. Someone isn't doing their job. I truly hope someone takes over and fixes it. read more

This review is for the employees at dicks. I was nicely riding a bike because I intended to buy one, but I wanted to test it out before spending the $300 plus dollars on it. There was no one else in that general area and I was minding my own business. At this point I was confident I wanted to buy the bike and was about to dismount and go to the cashier. I was riding back when a young employee confronted me. Without any pretext, he told me to "get the f*ck out". I explained to him that I was just testing it to see if I wanted to buy it. He than rudely repeated himself and told me to "get the hell out". I tried to explain to him that the bike rack needed to have a 'Do not ride' sign. He didn't care that it was perfectly fine to do since there was nothing that explained otherwise. He wouldn't listen to any reason so I gave up and left the store. He rudely followed me and my friend out of the store and made us sit in the cold. read more
