He asked me questions about my experience and my goals. He even encouraged me to test ride a couple which helped me narrow down which one worked for me. He rides a lot himself and pointed out the pros and cons for me with each bike. He was paying attention to how I got on the bike, and listening to me, suggesting I might do better with another bike because of my abilities and age. I could not have asked for better guidance. I'm excited i chose REI to make this purchase. And they have a great bike repair shop in the store that i will probably need at some point for tune ups. Thank you Neil and thank you REI!

Just discovered this REI which recently opened 3 weeks ago…read more Nice to see a well-stocked camping and hiking store in the heart of Tallahassee off Thomasville road. I was pleasantly surprised to see running shoes such as Hoka and this REI even had Hoka hiking boots. They had a nice selection of co-op items in the back left of the store. Customer service was pretty amazing as we had at least 3 people help us around the store . I think this location should do well once customers find out about them.With the large space and plenty of parking without a business next door .It should be fairly easy to find some amazing items for outdoor activities to keep you healthy over the holidays.

I didn't think I'd be able to find a place in Tallahassee where I could try ski clothes on. Being petite I didn't want the hassle of ordering the wrong size online. Plus I didn't know where to start on what I would need. Daniel and Duncan were incredibly helpful. From informing me about the different layers I would need to helping me find the right size thermals, ski pants, ski jacket and gloves. I was able to try everything on to make sure it fit. This place has top quality brands. The staff is very knowledgeable. They also have a lot of stuff for hiking. The store has apparently been around for quite a while and I would highly recommend it for your hiking/camping/skiing needs.

All the staff were friendly and made the process super easy and smooth from start to finish. I expected the inside of the store to feel a little cluttered because of the nature of used sports gear, but I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well organized it was. It was very easy to browse each section. I highly recommend Play It Again Sports if you're looking to sell or trade in gear, or just want affordable equipment in great condition. I told her and took a picture of it (even though she should of have gone to check) She then proceeded to tell me that not all of the 30 oz flip straws are on sale and I grabbed one that wasn't. So I asked which ones are so I can go grab it. Her co worker said "oh I don't know but we close in 5 minutes" She did give us the discount but started literally throwing our stuff. Now I do understand it's closing time. We sat in line patiently because there was a multiple people in there. If not all the cups are on sale I do believe it's up to the workers to really put the ones out there that are on sale. So others don't get confused

I tried to purchase a 4 inch decal through their website last year, which was on sale for like $3 and with the discount code it was like $2. When it came time to check out, I got to shipping and the only options that were available were UPS and the cheapest option was $12. I contacted Garnet and Gold to ask why their only shipping options were UPS and why they would charge $12 to ship a decal and they said that their site should have had USPS options, which I showed a screen shot that it didn't, they sent a free shipping code. When I entered the free shipping code, it said the code wasn't valid. When I tried to reach back out, they couldn't say why the code didn't work and said that there must be an issue with their website and to check back soon. It's now almost a year later and the website still only has UPS listed as their only shipping option. Normally, I wouldn't complain because I LOVE Garnet and Gold and usually I'd just buy it from another source, but Garnet and Gold is the only place that has this particular decal. For me, trying to purchase via their website has been a nightmare and I wouldn't suggest it, but if you go to the store in person, it's fantastic!
