The gentleman who helped us in women's shoes was accessible, prompt, and friendly but besides that, it appeared that no one in the whole store was available to help. We wandered around for a long time and some items we searched for, we really never found the location of. The girl checking us out who was a manager I assume since she was the one who had to apply the veteran discount was extremely rude and behaved like the coupon police, I mean she just went on and on, as the coupon police lol. My dad said he went to wait outside because of how hostile she was. I guess that's the same as thank you for your service. To add insult to injury, it was also Memorial Day. The items at DSG in our opinion are not a great value, and most items don't ever go on sale no matter how long they take to sell off. read more

They tell you that you have 90 days for returns but ONLY if never worn or used at all. Get your racquets someplace else and all your sneakers. Rei gives you a year. Nordstrom forever. Brooks 90 days, all of these can be used and returned. Dicks is well deserving of their name as their C/S is not at all customer oriented. Think well and hard before you buy anything. The store is big and spacious. My husband and I bought 2 hybrid bikes online and his arrived perfectly. Their cost was reasonable. We then went to Dicks for the bike assembly. We had to wait a fee days but we were ok with it. Upon return, I noticed my back tire was deflated. We went again to dicks and they put air on it but didn't look into it further. Well as soon as I arrived home it was deflated again. I had to go back and wait another 4 days as the tube had come defective and the store did not have spare parts. The employees were always friendly. I just wish this would have been noticed and dealt with when we first left the bikes with them or when initially I brought mine for the same tire. read more

I attempted to return a defective ball that was sold to me. Tried to fill it with air and it wouldn't hold. Went to the store within the "90 day return window" and they wouldn't honor an exchange, even though the ball wasn't even used once. I was willing to accept this and take the loss, however, an employee that deals with returns waddled over to me all hunched over with a smirk on his face and more or less tried to rub it in. He clearly has zero experience with playing sports which makes me wonder, why does he even work there? I wasn't even complaining or anything, just enquiring about the possibility of a return, and he decided to act very strange and combative. He kept asking "why didn't you come earlier?" I've had a history with Dick's dating back over 20 years ago when I bought a fleece vest as a sophomore college in Upstate New York. Being that there seem to be Dick's everywhere in the United States, it seems appropriate that there is one by our house in Royal Palm. I was in need of a shin guards and soccer cleats, as well as a safe for secure storing certain sporting good items. I discovered some good deals as I came in Dick's, especially, a safe that was the last one of that particular style and size for about $30 less than for what it was going. Everyone who assisted me in my purchase was very helpful and allowed me to pick up the safe the next day when I had access to a larger vehicle than what I currently own. I am thankful that this Dick's gave me what I needed. This was a good Dick's that I will return to for more items -- I am sure they have some outdoor, fold-able chairs that we need to replace. They have a great Yeti section, which has some tumblers I could really use. read more

I had a great experience at Dick's yesterday. I was immediately asked if I needed help as I was shopping for some new running shoes. Jay was incredibly knowledgeable & helpful. I love the fact that they can now check to see if the shoe you want is in stock in your size without going to the back any longer. Everything is automated! Not the best experience. Everything was moving smoothly until I went to check out to purchase two things. The cashier couldn't find the barcode for one of my items and after patiently waiting for him to find the barcode, ask his manager etc. I just offered to quickly go back to the aisle and grab the same item with a useable barcode. I was less than one minute as the aisle was close and the cashier took the next person in line that had close to 50 items in his cart. The customer apologized and said he wasn't in a hurry but the cashier insisted on running him through before I got back. How was that supposed to make me feel? After coming into your store, trying to find a solution for a problem with one of your items, it didn't make me feel very good. Honestly, I won't come back to this store. I'm a genuinely nice, easy going customer who just felt like their time was taken advantage of. If I wasn't buying my items as gifts, I would have put them down and walked out. read more

Their bathrooms are some of the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever been in. They never have so. They never have paper towels. And there's always urine all of the toilet. Customer service is subpar. So disappointing. My son invites friends for a boating/snorkel trip. I had purchased a "full face" snorkel mask there for $100bucks, which was way too much, but I wanted to try it. I drove 25 minutes to be there when they opened so I could be on track. I searched everywhere but couldn't find the masks or even anyone to help. Eventually I found a manager who directed me to the masks. They had one! For kids! I ended up finding a full stick of better masks for $49 at a local dive shop on Blue Herron. Stupidity rains from top to bottom. Whenever you have workers who don't respond to employees request or customer request is a sure sign of lack of leadership. Today, upstairs in the golf section a rep standing around, helpful if I approached, expected to get minimum in south Florida. But not that busy. As I shop around and purchase several hundred dollars of merchandise to buy, I check out. The clerk makes a call to golf shop ( no tag on golf gloves that were marked down 50%) she calls up no answer, after several attempts she gets someone in the gun shop to pickup and he guesses at the discount which was wrong, another call up still wrong answer. After 15 minutes of stupidity and lack of desire to help customers they finally find someone to look up the actual sales price which I explained 20 minutes ago. You can tell that sports authority is gone and they Know that they are the only place in town for sporting goods. My suggestion if you are traveling to south Fl stop at your local sporting goods store, buy what you need This place would be an embarrassment if I was associated with them. So if you get to the beach and forget something, order from Amazon. If I am the Gm, I right the ship, joke of store. Purchased shorts last week which where to small so I went back to Dick's to return them for a larger size today. They had no problem exchanging my shorts for a larger size but because I didn't have my receipt with me charge me a 25% fee for exchanging them . If your going to do the right thing and exchange something for a larger size then what's the point of charging your customer 25% to do so if they don't have the receipt?????? New beautiful store. Impressive as heck. Nicely organized. Then check the prices. The hiking shoe I was looking for is $95 at Sports Authority and they run $10 coupons in the Sunday newspaper ads... so $85. Dick had them for $105. Not sure about you, but 20% higher to me for exact same item means that Dick is a rip off. Then I looked at racquestball rackets thinking maybe with a grand opneing there was some sort of deal. WOW, I saw a Head i165 racket marked "Save $180"... marked down from $274.99 to $89.99. They were out so I asked for and git a rain check. What a savings and a great birthday present... a top of the line racket I thought. Then I went home and got on the internet and see that nodody out there selles the thing for more than $80. Even Dick's online has it for sale for $79.99... ten bucks less than the store with free shipping. Beautiful place... but rip off prices and dishonest advertsing of their discounts. Dick's Sporting Goods is an academic example for all retail business to observe as to why internet sales outlets such as Amazon are taking over the retail trade. The all to common traits of: 1. Almost nobody in the store knows what they are doing. 2. They are grossly under staffed requiring customer to go searching for help in various departments. 3. The check out process is absolutely painful. Cashiers are alarmingly slow and ill equipped to handle the slightest problem. On my recent visit 4 registers were staffed, but each of them was at a complete standstill due to missing prices, incorrect prices, clerk exceedingly slow at doing returns, waiting for manager to come to register when called. All of these things coupled with no apparent store management in sight. So the question is, Why would you ever shop at Dick's? read more

I have been to this sporting goods store numerous times and prices vary by season. I try to shop sales and clearance. I have purchased new cleats for less than $15.00 and I just purchased some hiking pants for $19.00 less than the hiking companies "sale price" on their web page. I asked for some help locating items in the store and received excellent service and was brought to the very item I was seeking. A great store over all. Note- the store has a rewards program. For every 300 dollars spent in the store a coupon or deal is sent to your email. $300 it seems like a high amount but with just a few items of a sports gear you can get there quite quickly. read more

Recently I discovered I had a Goldsmith Gift Card that my son had given me. When I attempted to use it at Dicks Sporting Goods, I was told it was no longer valid since Golfsmith had been purchased by Dicks for $70 million and they were not honoring it. Shame on me for not using it sooner...but you have to ask yourself...How many unsuspecting customers are taking the hit because of these unscrupulous practices? They seem to have a low inventory, unable to order sizes they don't have on stock, the sales people seem irritated they have customers. My sister, brother-in-law and I bought a ping pong table for our dad for Christmas. The manager of this store went above and beyond the call or duty to help us make this a reality in time for Christmas. He was helpful with suggestions and really went out of his way to get this done. When we went to the store to pick up the table, we were greeted in a very friendly manner at the door by a lady who immediately helped us, and called for the ping pong table to be brought out front. The two gentlemen helping us get the ping pong table onto the truck were equally friendly and patient. We had a bit of a delay getting the car pulled around and the back of the truck down, since it was a rented truck, but the two gentlemen were really patient and helpful throughout the entire procedure. I always have really great service here. Usually find what I'm looking for and for a left-handed golfer, that can be very difficult. After reading some of the reviews here, it's quite clear that this particular Dicks is where the jerks shop. One girl, who is apparently illiterate, goes there just for the bathrooms and then complains about it. Some other guy thinks if he has to wait longer than 5 seconds for an answer to his question that the entire store are idiots. So all I can say is, great job Dicks Sporting Goods! I had never been to a Dick's before this weekend, I had always gone to Sports Authority or purchased my equipment online. The size, organization and professionalism of Dick's blows Sports Authority out of the water. This place is more like a theme park then a sporting goods store! I went in there just to pick up a pair of cleats and get out. But I ended up playing around in there for more than an hour. They have a putting green, a golf simulator, an archery range, you name it! All kinds of activities to test out your equipment before you purchase it. Even if you're not in the market for any sporting goods, this is a great place to kill some time if you are in the area. read more

Poor customer service. Went to buy an elliptical, one employee didn't know what it was and the other one took us to the treadmills. He told me that the one I wanted, which was on sale with free delivery and free assembly was out of stock and for me to go home and order it on line. I then asked the manager and he offered to order it from there. Why ordering it he said that there is now an assembly fee and a delivery fee of close to $300 even though the sign clearly said free delivery and assembly and his reply was that the sign is wrong and took the sign down. At the end he offered to waive the assembly but it can only be set up after the item was delivered to my house at which time I would bring the receipt to the store and they would schedule a assembly person to come out. (Like I'm going to trust his word since I couldn't trust his sign). NO THANKS read more

Went in to buy my 10 year old son some gifts for his birthday. Spent way too much money but I know he is going to be so happy with everything, especially his new fishing pole.
