Tuesday morning and I joined my Dad on his weekly visit to the gun range with his buddies. Now that he lives in Palm Beach County, this is their new spot. As a new visitor, I had to read and sign and pay $20 for a range card. A bunch. And that's on top of the range fee. A little noisy but what indoor gun range isn't. They have eyes and ears to borrow and the targets go way way back. My little pistol isn't much beyond 10 feet so I stuck to the short shots and did pretty darned well. Lots of firearms for sale and they are not at all expensive. Of course, I'd have to pay for the transfer back to North Carolina which adds to the cost. Been coming to this range for about 3 years now, the staff is very friendly and the place is quite clean. They have a great selection of guns for sale with many accessories. The lanes are decent, they don't seem to tend to the lanes as much as the main store. It's $20per person, per hour (if you have your own gun and ammo, otherwise you have the option to purchase ammo and rent a gun, if needed). The monthly membership cost is well worth it if you plan to train at least 2 x times per month. My wife and I came recently with some friends and we had a great time. read more

I can't tell you how many times I have passed this place since moving to Wellington this Summer, 2022. I finally had the urge to pull in and see what all the hype was about this past week. Plenty of "Easy - In & Out" Parking - which is great; Nevertheless - this place is extremely busy. You can find lots of "Friendly Groupies" congregating in the parking lot. Everyone is amicable! I wandered into this Shoot Straight location just to browse around a bit. I've been to other locations and I'm always satisfied with how they run their ranges. I had no intention of making a purchase, however, one of the sales reps, Jason, saw me eyeing the M1As from across the room and we proceeded to nerd out for the next 45 minutes about builds, lore, and history. Jason was an absolute powerhouse of knowledge and secured me a great deal. This is a limited review. BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD WAIT ON ME. I decided to treat myself to a new revolver, yup a wheel gun, after seeing a friends. Its a specific build for outdoor use, fishing, hiking, that sort of thing. My first stop was to this shop, was here once before and aimlessly wandered about, no one asked then if i needed help. I was ok, because i didnt. When i went in there was one employee at the case helping a customer with a beautiful rifle, it was a gorgeous wood stocked special looking thing. Thats technical for no clue what its use is, competition i think. Being the only clerk i kinda loitered closely waiting for the "need help?". I looked at the case, paused, looked at the clerk, when he zipped up the case, customer left, my turn, the clerk came around, brushed past me and gone. POOF, down the hall. I got nothing, a be right with you would have been awesome. So i waited, and looked, yeah i then left. Looking at the range line, im guessing THAT'S their interest, the point of sale not so much. Very bad customer service , for a high dollar store and industry. The general demeanor from every employee is "we don't need your money" and there is no sense in customer service. Zero conversation skills just kind of robots reading a policy script. Various times I have issues where they say "a store policy" and then management walks over , I explain, and they okay it. A shooting range is a place of practice and therapy - for them to go out of their way to disturb the oea patrons (granted I've witnessed this many times to others) right before handling a firearm. Zero logic. Honestly a shame because the management and owner are great with issues but I would say now Gun world is much better now in comparison so I cancelled membership here and went back to GW. read more

I wanted to purchase a new firearm and asked many questions multiple times that I went and each employee gave me very good information and non biased info between price, durability, and use I am now getting more confident in my next purchase. I have been a member of Shoot Straight for many years and I recently decided to sell a few (6) of my hand guns (most of which I had bought from SS) as I have run out of room in my gun safe. I called SS to see if they bought used guns and was told yes, all I had to do was bring the guns in and have an idea of what I wanted for them. I did some research on the resale value and then cut that number by about 40% to determine what the offer should look like. I took them in and laid them all out on the counter in their origional boxes. All are in excellent condition. The manager, who I had never seen before in that store, looked at them and offered me a fraction of that value, actually an insulting offer. He said the used gun market is not what it used to be. I felt like an idiot having to pack the guns back up and walk out the door. I won't be buying any more guns at SS. My suggestion is not to attempt to sell your guns to SS if you don't want to be insulted. read more

Having been a long rifle and revolver user ,some of my questions were basic. He did a great job showed me ,some guns compared them .I will be back i settled on Glock 48 M.O.S I bought ammo for my 380 and thought given all circumstances it was a fair $ price. he even discussed grains of ammo he thought would be good for the my Glock 42 and thats what I bought. I just moved to the area from Boston, where I had a great experience as a member of my local range. I miss those guys since I knew them all personally after several years of shooting every Saturday. I started to search for a new "home" here in So FL and I visited several ranges and shot at them all. The first one I went to was a sweat box, with a small number of lanes, and outdated and oversized target hangers. I buy my own "splatter" targets and they don't fit. The owner gave me a sheet of large craft paper and some tape so I can use my own targets. Oh well... next! The next range I went to was OK, their shop was clean and the range was functional but needed clean up; paint and maintenance, not a great experience. I came to Yelp before visiting Shoot Straight and saw they had several negative reviews. So I had my eyes wide open for arrogant staff and other problems sited in these reviews. I arrived and waiting just a few minutes until I was greeted and asked to fill out a form, which I did. Then, I was assigned a lane in one of several ranges. The range has a big A/C blower for each lane and can be aimed conveniently for comfort. I found the target hangers were perfect for my own splatter targets and I had a very nice experience. After shooting, I asked to see several firearms in the showcase and was patiently and courteously waited on by one of the staff members. It did take 3 or 4 minutes before someone could help me but it was busy at the time I arrived. I had several questions about a particular handgun and the person who assisted me was friendly and knowledgeable. I am an experienced shooter and I was granted the courtesy of being able to ask several questions and take my time. I decided this was the best place so far, so I decided to come back once more for a test, to make sure the staff was as welcoming as I had experienced during the 1st visit. I chose their busiest time as the litmus test. I returned Saturday morning at 10:15, a few minutes after they opened. Once again, I was treated like a gentleman, with respect and courtesy. I spent less than 5 minutes getting my lane and the customer service person checking me in was efficient and welcoming. I once again had a great shooting experience, I found the range comfortable to work in and easy to get set up. This range is the longest indoor range I had yet to experience, which is a good thing for when I am practicing with a rifle. The only downside to the range was that the target hangers, which are suspended on wires, took several minutes to "calm down" and stop swaying before I could start shooting. I don't know if this can be fixed, it just may be the characteristics of a long-wire target transport system. But, it is annoying and wastes time. At my last range we never had that problem but it fairness, the length was shorter. I decided that I would join as a member and I was told to stop by in a few days to pick up my official membership card. I am happy with the experience I had, I thought the range was well designed, the store had a lot of inventory to choose from and ammo was available, but expensive when compared to buying elsewhere. I am optimistic that I will enjoy my membership and look forward to getting to know the owner and staff. If you do decide to swing by, remember that a little patience will reward you with a good experience, as it did for me. read more

We have been going to Shoot Straight for a few months. Though I am black, my wife and I haven't had any issues and have been treated with dignity and respect by everyone there. It could be because I don't use words like "ima," and I know the difference between heterographs like "your" and "you're." It could also be because I treat the staff with respect and don't blame everything in my life on being black. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection of firearms and accessories. My only complaint is it can get pretty warm on the range on hot days. read more

Came here to buy a shotgun after loving my husbands. They have a fanstastic collection of guns both big and small as well as long rifles and shotguns. The employees are well versed in gun knowledge. There are gun lanes that can be rented per hour to practice. Also some gun models can be rented to see if you like how they work prior to purchase. There is a separate space for handguns than long rifles/shotguns. We do love come here, it's one of our two places come for our shooting and hunting needs. They are better and more patient than Gun world that's for sure which is unfortunate for me because its an extra 25 minute drive each way. But the longer drive is worth it as my physical conditions and challenges warrants people who are patient and understanding. It started back in late december 2019 when I drove up there after a not so great experience elsewhere. Johnathan from Shoot straight was very patient with me. I tried them in Feb but they did not have the handgun in stock. Then all the gun places soon closed due to covid Shoot straight reopened in late may and I must give Shoot Straight credit for not upcharging like so any other places are doing during Covid and all the rioting in south Fl. The 9mm I chose is also a very popular handgun. Even back in Feb when COVID had everyone panicking, businesses were price hiking if you could find one in stock. I made the smart decision to wait and not panic like so many others Not only did Shoot straight have it in stock in Late May, but they were only asking for for a modest $31 upcharge (out the door which included the Federal backround check that took only 10 minutes) when compared to the popular on-line places Like "Grab a Gun" which were charging $399. When you think about it, that $31 upcharge is about the cost of a transfer fee. Meanwhile, Other local places like the "Shooting center" in lake worth were charging more than $500 for the same weapon . So props to Shoot straight in West Palm for not gouging when many other places in south Fl are Also, Johnathan from Shoot Straight offered to install and calibrate my Crimson Trace laser (arriving today ) and the laser Itself I didnt even buy from them The other 2 employees people involved with my purchase was Matt (who gave me the good price on the hand gun) and Tony (who I spoke with the day before but he was not there the next day when I made the purchase As for the rating well, Its rare I give 5 stars to any business after a couple of visits. My first time at a shooting range and it wasn't as bad or scary as I thought it would be. The facility was very packed, you could bring your own ammo which seems to be a big plus. The rental of ear protection, eye wear and the target was fairly reasonable for two people. The Staff was super duper friendly, quick, helpful and patient. The same plenty of weapons with lost of options. The lanes were nice and the crowd of people were nice and courteous to each other. Suggestion: Put a little more money into the Cap-Ex budget e.g. The range. When they first opened you could literally eat off the floors. The range needs a budget for updates, and repairs. Well, before you buy a firearm from them. I would make sure that they have the ammo for it. If Center Mass Gun Range in Okeechobee wasn't 1 hour away I would of did my purchase there again. Lucky for Shoot Straight, Center Mass did not have the firearm in stock but they have all the ammo that you need. Shoot Straight staff seems like they're just there and not happy to be there. I'm not sure how that Corporation or management treats their employees but there's no motivation at all. Maybe you sould have some ammo for your firearms that your selling so that those customers have the option to buy the ammo with their new firearm purchase. Only make sense read more

The firearm sales are excellent. Shoot Straight (SS) caters to law enforcement, military and first responders with good discounts. Far different that what I experienced in Jensen Beach. I have dealt with Carl several weapons purchases. He is extremely knowledgeable and will not rush a sale. While I am a "Sig" guy, he has convinced me to look at several other weapons types.
