Appointments are made using their website and they are open on Sunday, which was an added bonus. They do offer complimentary beverages while you wait or video arcade games. I have gone to Diesel barbershop a few times now, and all have been pretty good experiences. The last time I went to get a haircut, I asked for a skin fade, and the sides of my head were not faded at all. It's the same length almost all the way up to the top of my head. I understand paying $50-$60 for a good quality haircut. When you charge that and end up with a haircut like I did today, you might as well go to Sports Clips or Super Cuts. I was charged for a skin fade, which was an upcharge and didn't get get a skin fade at all. Went in for a basic fade to flat top haircut and the stylist completely messed up the cut.The manager tried to fix it, but couldn't, is I told the guy to just buzz cut it. I've given myself a better cut doing it myself looking in a mirror. To to it off I had to pay full price,($45) for a freaking buzz cut. I tried this place expecting to get a good quality haircut and up with a cut similar to what you get in the military. Stay away from this place. My 8 year old son got his haircut for $60 here and came home with an uneven hairline and 2 chunks of his eyebrow missing. I understand mistakes happen and that not every haircut will be perfect. However, when I called and spoke to the owner he was incredibly rude and said "we don't do that here" over and over again and that this didn't happen at his salon. Accusing me of lying and that my son came home from his salon and magically had chunks of his eyebrow missing. On top of that, he hung up on me and didn't offer to have my son's haircut fixed. I won't speak poorly about the stylist as I know she never would intentionally do anything, but the way the owner handled it regarding a CHILD and $60 haircut was unprofessional and they have now lost customers. The owner also lied and said I didn't call until 24 hours after the appointment, which isn't true. The appointments were later in the afternoon Saturday and I called when they opened Sunday morning (I have proof of that too). He NEVER offered to fix the situation before telling me I was wrong and hanging up on me. If he did, I would have been very receptive and understanding. Any business owner that handles a situation involving a child like that and speaks to women the way he did won't be a business I support. I do not recommend this salon at all. read more

I made an appointment for my husband as a gift for Father's Day. He is bald but is able to grow hair everywhere else lol and seems to be a constant battle to care for it. He has been to several places before but we continue to search as he has not found a place that he likes - until now. My son tried Diesel on hwy k for the first time. His stylist seemed very unsure of what to do. He had to have another stylist come over to help him 3 times during the cut. Sent him home with wet unstyled hair. Never even offered to dry/style it. Probably so my son wouldn't realize everything was uneven. One sideburn cut noticeably higher than the other both burns had jagged longer pieces. Nothing was blended. There was a ridge (for lack of a better word) between the top and sides assuming where he stopped clippering, but then he never blended in the longer top to the sides. Never trimmed around the ears or neck. Maybe this guy was new and I realize he has to learn on someone but you can't send people home looking that way. Luckily I decided to call the Diesel in Winghaven and Amanda fit us in even though they were closing and she fixed it read more

So we went to get a full service for an important event. My brother is one of the guests of honor. I felt that my cut and trim was no better than a $20 one plus me trimming myself. My brother received just a cut, his beard was barely trimmed, he didn't get the shave he paid for, and they cut a bald spot in the back. Overall, not a great experience for the absurdly high fee. I had my first visit this morning. I had a busy day ahead of me so I got there before the doors opened. I was very impressed by this place. I was greeted kindly and offered a beverage before my haircut. (Beer included!) The owner was present and was very kind. I had the pleasure of being cut by Kayla. She keeps a good conversation going and is naturally a people person. She sat me in one chair for the cut, shampoo, and style. Kayla recommended a great pomade to use for the day and I purchased some to take home. On top of all the great things they were able to notch me for an opening on the calendar that worked best for my schedule. I am very happy with this experience. Thank you for coming to O'fallon, MO!
