We needed to have my pool removed. Submitted inquiry at 5 pm, D&D is the first one to respond, in 10 min. They had Brett coming to my house to provide a first hand assessment of the project in two day (could be the next day if was available in fact). Brett looked at the access to my backyard, explained to me different types of removals I could elect to have, and also gave me some possible money saving advices. I got a quote from them D&D a day after that, which is a Saturday. All super responsive. A day before the job started, Sunday, I found a bobcat, and a portapotty standing by my house already. Once the job started, Jose and the team would be one site at 8 am. They needed nothing from us, except when they need to turn back on the gas line and come into our garage to light back on the water heater. The job was done in 1.5 weeks, 8 working days, completely painless. An interesting observation is that, when they needed to dump truck load of dirt in front of our house, they have things scheduled super well. A new truck will surely be arriving right when the old pipe was gone, as if the mountain of dirt was just next door or something. Not sure how they did that. Everyone is super professional, as well as friendly. They think for their clients when presenting options. Michelle was the one that keep in touch throughout via texting, who very responsive and warm. There was one time I texted her back at 10 pm, hoping that was her working number and expecting het getting back the next day, but got her reply in 5 min. In 2022, Dig & Demo did a Full-Removal-with-Engineered-Backfill of my 40-year-old, 10,000-gallon fiberglass pool. They also removed 20 tons of concrete patio that covered most of my side and back yards. The experience was absolutely 5-Stars from start to finish. The estimate, contract signing, and scheduling were done in June 2022, and the actual job started and was completed in November 2022. I selected Dig & Demo over other companies for the following reasons: 1. The many positive Yelp reviews 2. Reasonable estimate with detailed list of work to be done (Another company gave me a one-page, boilerplate estimate at almost twice the cost!) 3. Knowledgeable estimator who answered all my questions and addressed my specific needs in the estimate 4. We had Dig & Demo handle a pool removal for us. I was mostly in contact with John who was great in explaining the process and overall communication. D&D's initial bid wasn't the cheapest but they were able to price match with another vendor I was considering. We decided to go with D&D because of their good communication and follow up. They were very prompt and always got back to me quickly. They were able to secure the permits quickly and completed project within the time frame they stated. The only thing I would reiterate to anyone considering this type of work is that access to the site is important and understand that these Bobcat machines are heavy! Due to the nature of this equipment they will most likely damage concrete, grass and sprinklers in it's path. Our concrete driveway has scrape marks/chips from the Bobcat machines while they were scooping the dirt and all our sprinklers and grass that were in it's path were destroyed. So we are now looking for someone to fix this which is obviously an additional expense. I'm not sure if there was a way to prevent this but just something to be aware of. We hired D&D to remove a 25K-gallon pool that took up 85 percent of our backyard. It was an older pool from the 50s, in poor condition, and would need repair in the near future, so we decided to remove it. I'll begin by saying Ryan truly means it when he says he wants you to be happy. He strives to do the best work possible and follows through. Many contractors get a bad reputation for promising more than they deliver. But Ryan proves he does want to leave you satisfied with your project. I will say though no one is perfect. There were some issues, ALBEIT MINOR, but this is why we gave D&D 4 stars versus 5. Overall, we are very happy with the pool demolition. We can't believe it took such a short amount of time for the pool to be demolished, debris removed, and sod and sprinkler system put in. Now we can claim our yard back and enjoy it! Each day the work was completed as expected with minor hiccups with inspection, but this isn't unusual when it comes to City permits. Here are some issues, again minor but if you're reading this you might want to be aware of some things to ask Ryan about ahead of time so you can avoid this. He does want you to be satisfied, so keep in mind all the things I'm mentioning below was resolved. Day One: they arrived on time including Ryan and began working. It was nice to see the owner coming and not just a crew he sent. The next few days were fine, but the issues came in the form of things that were left broken around the house.The one critique I would offer D&D is the lack of communication when something was broken or used by D&D at our property. I understand certain things are unavoidable when demolition equipment comes through, but it's the lack of communication to us after the fact that we weren't happy about. For example: 1. Small lock to outside breaker box was broken. We had to call him to get that replaced. 2. Our water hose was used and was poorly put back together. So badly in fact, the hose was crimped in several places. 3. The lines to the water lines that go to my plants across the sidewalk were broken. This can't be avoided I get that with the heavy equipment, but the lack of communication was frustrating. 4. The post to the fence was cut to get the equipment in. Again I get it, that's unavoidable. Ryan added a brace to it but the fence leans heavily towards the street. I'd like to emphasize we realize there is no perfect construction project. However, this came very close. One thing about Ryan that stands out amongst other companies is his responsiveness!, He was very responsive via email and phone calls. He would return an email or phone call within the same day, sometimes within the hour! He even came by on the weekend to get issues resolved. At the end of it all, we were happy our pool has been removed. read more

I had a unique demo job (a smaller indoor pool in a commercial building) as well as the removal of an access ramp and had Dig and Demo come take a look at it. First they told me they'd get me a bid for the job by next week... next week came and they gave me a call on Friday to say they were waiting on some permit info and would get me the bid the next week, I thought it was nice that they called to say they were going to be late. Unfortunatly the next week came, and I heard nothing, called on friday and they said the bid was 'almost done'. Another week went by without hearing anything, I called again and was told someone was finishing somethign up and they'd email it to me... another week later and still nothing, now I was getting annoyed. Maybe they don't have my correct email I tohugh, so I sent an email to them... still nothing. Maybe after taking a look at it, Dig and Demo wasn't interested in the job, thats fine. Originally, I had planned to have Dig and Demo demolish the pool of the house we were moving out of. I chose him because he seemed to be the most knowledgeable, professional, and easygoing contractor, and his price was very competitive. I saw photos of his previous work and thought he did an excellent job. Other contractors only demolish the pool itself, but for the same price, he also removes the surrounding concrete so the homeowner can start landscaping from scratch. He's very patient and always quickly responds to my questions. The day before the planned demolition, I called him to let him know that my potential tenant actually wanted a pool for the house. He was very nice and told me not to worry about him, but to just act in my own best interest. He also voluntarily offered to refund my initial deposit upon cancellation of the demolition. There were several things I liked about this company: - They were one of the few that actually came to look at the pool before giving an estimate. - They have various ways of removing the pool (partial or full removal, engineered or non-engineered fill, and optional removal of concrete) and they explained the pros and cons of each. - We had some flowers next to the edge of the pool that we were sure would be smashed or damaged, but the backhoe operator managed to remove the entire concrete pool wall without touching them. - After almost a year the dirt fill has not sunk and rain water still drains away from the house even after many heavy rains. Ryan had bid quit low on the project, and we decided to go with them based on the comments on Yelp and his list of references. Here is how the project went. Day one, they brought in the bobcat, and started digging. Their digging machine failed. The machine operator Nick had a real attitude because his equipment wasn't working. Let's just say these guys don't take their time to protect your property. During the course of the work, a water line ruptured, and none of the crew were general contractor and had no supervisor who could fix it, and thus we were left without water to us in our house for over 5 hours. If you break something, you are responsible to fix it, well not these guys , real bad business ethics. They eventually left about five grand of concrete damage in the main drive way and in the alley on the way to the pool. read more
