No alcohol served, but juice, smoothies and teas are available. Our server Malikka was AWESOME and balanced all the tables on a Friday night like a champ! The smoothie was just the right sweetness and a large size. The grilled fish was outstanding. My friend and I were totally silent as we ripped our plates apart with no mercy. Ordered via Uber eats so unfortunately everything came cold. Ordered the mix grill with a falafel appetizer. My Husband had the Iraqi chicken kebab sandwich. As far as the mixed grill it comes with a chicken and lamb kebab and a beef and chicken Iraqi kebab. I don't eat beef so I asked for both Iraqi kebabs to be chicken. They did follow the orders. Everything was delicious except the Iraqi Kebabs. They were extremely tough/dry/rubbery so they didn't get eaten. The Iraqi Kebab sandwich same issue the chicken was very tough so that went to waste. The Falafel was very hard so that didn't get eaten. So I'm torn. I feel as if I wasted a lot of money but it was our first time patronizing this place. The meat is halal so I was super excited. If I do go in to support I will definitely stick to the chicken and lamb kebabs. The sandwich didn't even have any veggies on it. Just a tortilla and the Iraqi kebab and some white sauce. Oh also there were 2 sauces that came with my mixed grill that I assumed were garlic sauce and tahini but both taste like straight mayonnaise and I hate Mayo so I'm not sure what that's about. This is a don't judge establishment when you pull up or look around inside... The inside was pretty dim, even during the day (see my picture). It was around 12:30 PM on a Saturday when we arrived. There was a couple of folks around the restaurant, but we weren't sure if they were patrons or knew the owners and were just lounging around. Customers dining in wise, there were the hubs and I along with a mother and daughter. The place wasn't busy by any means when we left around 2 ish. The day was still early though. We shared the mix appetizer. I had the lamb shank while he had the mouslia kubba. The mix appetizer had one of the salads (unsure exactly which one), taboula, hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaves, and assorted pickles. I def rec this if you truly want to sample most of the stuff in the appetizer section. One worthy thing to mention: There were only two grape leaves, but it was rather too salty. The lamb shank was pretty sizable. It came with pilaf rice, hummus, and a salad. The lamb was a huge piece; it was pretty good with the fat and bone meat. There were plenty of rice to mellow out the lamb's flavor. The hummus and salad helped as well. The mouslia kubba was interesting and different. It's a big circular kebba borghal that was stuffed with minced meat. It was sort of like a dry, stuffed pancake with a hard crust and dry ish meat inside. The hubs seemed to like it, but it was too dry for my palate. It's def something different from the typical wraps and platters. Overall the food here wasn't bad. From appearances, the dimly lit interior and couches make it seem like it's more of a hookah lounge than cafe. But they do offer a variety of foods with tables and chairs toward the back. read more

This is a real hidden gem tucked away in Decatur. Located in a shopping center so parking is somewhat limited depending on when you go but we went after an event on a Saturday around maybe 4:30pm and it was not busy. I found this place on Yelp... and it was not far from our event. Upon entering we were given a warm welcome and offered to be seated anywhere we wanted. The place was clean and cozy felt like I was in Morocco. They had music playing and a tv playing. Our waitress was very patient with us and very knowledgeable of the menu. I was a little disappointed about them only having can drinks and no sweet tea. I ended up getting a can sprite with a straw. The food was delicious I ordered the lamb wrap kabob and samosas. This is a hookah lounge as well so if you smoke hookah and want good food this is where you need to be. They also have tables or lounge sofas to sit at. Six of us decided to meet at noon on Sunday - the posted opening time for Dijla Cafe & Lounge. We arrived five minutes early and found a dark unoccupied restaurant. Just as we were about to leave, a young lady arrived and opened the door - telling us that they didn't open until twelve o'clock. We told her that we were aware of that and that it was now 11:58 AM. We were told then that the kitchen didn't open until 12:30. Lights were turned on and the six of us were seated. No other customers arrived during the entire time we were there. We left just before 2 PM. I ordered the Iraqi Kabob Platter and my wife chose Chicken Shawarma. Mine was excellent - two lamb kabobs the length of the platter and two chicken kabobs of similar size. Also included were two tomato halves and a split jalapeño which had all been grilled. This was all served on a bed of yellow rice. The food I chose was delicious! My wife's dish came with chicken on one third of the plate, rice on one third, and the Greek Salad (her choice among four offerings) was quite good. My meal was so large that I only ate only half of it. Those who are less than my 76 might eat more. We shared my leftovers for dinner last evening. Food was quite tasty. There were no complaints from any of the six. Service was close to non-existent. Once the food was served, we were left alone. When we walked over and asked for "to go" boxes, they were delivered promptly. When we walked over and asked for our checks, they were also delivered promptly. read more

Tracked down this place while looking for closeby quick dinner take-out. Wasn't in the mood for the usual GA late night staples...Chik Fila, etc. Called in for a Chicken Schwarma platter....which comes with rice, pita and hummus and your choice of soup or salad. Total damage $10.69. The rice was awesome. Fluffy, moist and tasty. No complaints there. Schwarma was pretty good. Good flavor and moist. Would have liked to see some color too it...was a little pale vs what i'm used to. However, each cuisine has it's own style of schwarma and given that this was my first time having schwarma from Iraq I can't comment on if this is just part of their style or not. Salad was fresh...nothing special but a good complement to the rest of the meal. The hummus was very good. The only thing that was just plain bad was the pita. It tasted old and had no real density to it. But the hummus was so tasty I ended up eating the bad pita..LOL. Kinda shameful but you have to do what you have to do. Lady that took my order over the phone and payment in person was nice and the atmosphere inside was definitely kool. Perhaps a good spot to do hookah and eat as well. Glad I found this spot. First time here. I've been to other hookah lounges before in Atlanta but I think I've just found my new favorite spot! Came on a weeknight. People came in and out so not crowded at all (which is what I preferred), really good music (can't have enough of Arabic in the background!) overall a very nice/neat/cozy & casual place to hangout at. Our servers were diligent at their job and checking up on us quite frequently than usual. We ordered their special Paan flavored hookah mixed with mint, and later got white chai mixed with mint. (None of that is on the menu so you gotta ask for it) Both flavors are EXCELLENT and ON point! We also ordered chicken shawarma with fries which was ok, don't expect great quality food at a hookah lounge anyway, the hookahs stole all the stars here. If by some chance you end up in this Ethiopian centric plaza, do pop in to Dilja. I've only had the hooka here and it was fine but more importantly the atmosphere was relaxed and didn't make me question their health score. As an Ethiopian, I sadly avoided this joint in favor of the neighboring Et spots. The plaza gets A LOT of traffic at night (immigrant night life) so pick your middle eastern tour wisely. Or come at night and join the fun :) It's very spacious and decor bespeaks their middle eastern heritage. Demographics is very heavy on the middle aged men lot lol read more
