However, I'm as firm believer if you take care of your staff they will always cover you and your business. Just not impressed. This was the first location I have tried and wouldn't make my way out to go again. Our server, Chyna, was friendly and kind, but we did have to flag her down a couple of times. The establishment wasn't very busy, but her friendliness eased our frustration of the longer wait times. Food was pricey for the portion and taste. Came for Sunday brunch and easily sat as there were plenty of tables available (as well as parking), sat at a table to see the dj but there was no dj. We wanted salmon for dinner. This was one of the only spots that wasn't closing in 30 min near Stone Mountain State Park. It did not disappoint. I only expected a restaurant. The two stars are for the drinks. Although, considering they were followed up by a head ache and I'm starting to wonder... So, we made the visit for a girls night but there was nothing nostalgic about the experience. The place was majority empty. We assumed it was because we arrived early, 7:30ish closer to 8. However my experience leads me to think differently. Upon entry we were greeted and seated. The menus were already laid on the table waiting for us. So, needless to say there was little to nothing for the host to greet you with or for; table presentation was NOT there. No cups napkins, condiments, eating utensils nothing! We got into the menus -ordered Soul Rolls, a Crab Cake, and 2-orders of wings for appetizers. The soul rolls were overcooked, the yams none existent, and the Macaroni was dry. The crab crake had a fishy taste to it and 1 order of wings was undercooked (per order request) the other was good. When we asked for the wings to be re-made they just throw the wings back in the grease and re-served them. Our MEALS: 2- Rasta Pastas, the yard man snapper, and the jalapeño burger. We had to ask for eating utensils 2x's and after about and 5 more minutes we got them. The Fish was okay but for what it cost (w/ gratuity) and tasted like -wasted money!!! The Rasta pasta was only Alfredo no peppers, cajun season or onions. I guess the burger was decent. We all ordered drinks - lemon drop flight, 4-24 k gold drinks, white wine sangria, and another lemon drop. The drink were meh - the lemon drop flight came w/ ice. My friend wanted a second sangria but couldn't order b/c they ran out of wine and I got a head ache after I drank the two 24ks. Then it came down to paying! Now I thought I was doing good on my balance but I got swindled. First off she had me pay my tab BEFORE she showed me my itemized receipt which include an auto 18% gratuity for 4 people (not worthy) service was SLOW and bad! Not to mention they charged a $2 difference on my drinks. The menu had $16 but I was charged $18 for both. Make them show your receipt ahead of payment. B/c we tipped on top of the gratuity that was included in our bill but weren't informed the tip was already included. The interior was nice, I liked the booth seating and decor. I really liked the fireplace setting. It gave a warm cozy feel. The music was a slight vibe once the drinks kicked in that's it. Nostalgia Kitchen has a Happy Hour! Happy Hour specials include food, drinks, and hookah. There's free parking and it's nicely decorated. We enjoyed great service and ambiance with the R&B playlist. For appetizers, the soul food egg rolls were a hit! We also tried the fish tacos, which surprisingly had barbecue sauce on them. The fish tacos were okay, just not exactly what we thought they would be. For entrees, the lamb chops were pretty good; they had a chargrilled, smokiness taste; they were cooked well-done though I requested medium-well, so keep that in mind. The snapper was good. No complaints on the side dishes, including the sweet potato soufflé my friend loved. I was pleased with the drinks! Very good drink special, and the bartender mixed it well. I would try again. While visiting Stone Mountain on Friday, September 5, 2025, my best friend and I decided to try Nostalgia Kitchen since it was close to our hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We were served by the bartender, who was clearly distracted trying to juggle bar duties and DoorDash orders. Our small two-top table quickly filled up, and items weren't cleared in a timely way, I even dropped silverware multiple times because there was no room. When I tried moving a few items to a nearby empty table to make space, the bartender came over to tell me not to do that since it had already been cleaned. When the check came, an automatic $25 gratuity had been added even though we were only a party of two. I asked for it to be removed because tips should be based on the service received, not automatic unless you're a party of six or more. Instead of handling this gracefully, the bartender got defensive and had an attitude. She did re-ring the bill without the automatic gratuity, but the interaction was unnecessarily unpleasant. Out of courtesy, I still paid the $135 bill and left a $17 cash tip. To her credit, the other server (not our bartender) apologized for the poor service, which I appreciated. The worst part came later, when I checked my bank account, I saw I had been charged twice: once for the canceled check and again for the corrected one. Now I have to dispute the charge with my bank. Warning to out-of-town guests: please double-check your bank statements if you dine here. Between inattentive service, automatic gratuities added incorrectly, and duplicate charges, this restaurant left me with a very bad impression. read more

We stopped in for an early dinner. Kie was our server and she took care of us. She gave for recommendations. The sides are $8. The macaroni and cheese was delicious. The greens were tasty, too, filled with turkey meat. I thought the jerk rolls, $13, were just ok. The cabbage was a bit too crunchy. I got a side of jerk sauce to dip them in. The jerk tacos, $13, were better. I liked the pineapple on top. The salmon sliders, $13, were good, but would be better without the Sprouts. They had an earthy after taste. The ambience was nice. Be careful entering the parking lot. Entrance is on busy Memorial drive. Ample parking space in there lot. The lot can use some care, but once you enter the ambiance and decor is spectacular. Modern decor. Lounge seating, private seating areas, full bar, stage for Dj and live performance, hookah station. I didn't get to explore the entire lounge. But what I saw was spectacular. Bartender was awesome, not pushy but helpful. Food is as described. Only thing is they need to update their prices. I was charged more than what was on the menu. For this price I feel it should have came with sides. An omelet for $18, MK. Also note they add 20% gratuity. Which seems to be a standard at most places outside the perimeter. Went on a Sunday. I met up with a new friend at Nostalgia for happy hour two weeks ago, and it was pretty cool. First, I did pass the parking lot initially because it wasn't well lit and the sign wasn't visible from the street. Once, I got into the parking lot I just couldn't get it together with the parking (which I'm still not sure if it was a me problem or a lot problem). However, once I got inside, it was cool. The decor was very breezy and beautiful. One of the employees told my friend that they were having a private event so we only had an hour to eat. So I would definitely say check out their Instagram before you go. Nostalgia definitely has an amazing happy hour menu with select items ranging from $6-$10. I ordered the soul rolls and the mango habanero wings and a lemon drop. The lemon drop was not good at all. It was lemony but no (sugar) drop. Instead of asking for simple syrup, I was able to replace the drink with a rum punch. This came out much better. The food was very good! The wings were crispy, the sauce wasn't too hot and the blue cheese dressing paired well with the wings. The soul rolls were good and I must say that no ingredient in the roll was overpowering. My friend ordered just the wings, and rum punch and she was satisfied. I definitely want to come back in the new year to experience more of the atmosphere. read more

A perfectly good ladies night ruined by bad food. Let's start with appetizers... The crab cake came in the size of a salmon croquette for $18... my cousin ordered it and hated it. I love crab cake so I asked to try. It was so disgusting I gagged and spit it out. It tasted fishy like the smell, not like oceany lol I asked for my appetizer, which was lemon pepper wings, to be crispy dry. The skin on the wings was so loose and they were nowhere near crispy. I sent them back twice and just decided to go with it after two failed attempts... my friend got the soul rolls... egg roll with collards, Mac, and yams... THEY WERE DRY. Now for entrees -- my cousin and I ordered Rasta pasta. I got mine with chicken, she got hers with shrimp. This "Rasta Pasta" didn't have any bell peppers or onions in it? It was just Alfredo that was heavily peppered with a dash of jerk sauce I presume. The chicken in my pasta was flavorless and overcooked. My other two friends ordered the snapper... DRY & the bacon cheeseburger. It was really a jalapeño burger but she took all the hot stuff off. Why was the bacon on the burger bacon bits? I am so serious. The worst part is... my meal and drinks were like $75. With all the fees it was like $106... the waitress didn't bring the itemized bill out until I had already tipped her $23 cash. The gratuity that was automatically added to the check was $18.... She was not an attentive server & the table was overcrowded by our used dishes the entire time. I visited Nostalgia twice within 24 hours and sadly, I won't be coming back. The first night, I went with my sister around 12:30 AM and had a great experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the vibe was on point. I was so impressed, I recommended it to friends and returned the next night with a group of six, expecting the same quality. Unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. We ordered drinks and appetizers, but they didn't arrive until the last person at the table received their entrée which makes no sense. The food itself was very underwhelming this time. We ordered 3 orders of lamb chops they were ok... ...*Jerk chicken taco meat & salmon slider - extremely dry and overcooked!, and some of the chicken was way to crispy to eat *Turkey wings dry, tough, flavorless and clearly needed more time to cook down in gravy To make matters worse, no one communicated that they had run out of sauce for the turkey wings. It was just served as a dry plate, and when I asked, I was told they ran out of gravy last minute. That should have been communicated upfront. The dish was not edible I had to send it back and try to order some things else after already waiting a long time for it. It took over 1hr plus for me to eat smh ! Despite being a party of six, no manager came out to check in or address our concerns after we asked . That was very disappointing, especially considering the circumstances. On top of everything, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to all checks regardless of service quality. Our waitress did her best and was pleasant, so this isn't about her. But overall, the experience was unacceptable. The inconsistency, lack of communication, and poor food quality made this visit very disappointing. I visited this place with a friend recently while in the Atlanta area. We decided on brunch for our visit. I was immediately disappointed to see little to no vegetarian options on the menu. The Interior decorum is beautiful, modern, clean and spacious. Our party of ten arrived for dinner on a Friday evening. Appetizers were delicious: oxtails tacos, Bam Bam shrimp, jerk chicken egg rolls. The shrimp was my favorite. Our meals were delicious as well. The Turkey Wings dinner was flavorful and tender (one dinner is enough for two!). Then when she came back to take our order it was apparent to me that something was wrong ... she had either forgotten about my drink or never put it in. I inquired and she went to place the order in and brought it back ASAP. Then when the dinners started arriving at the table and again myself and now my husband didn't receive our meals. We waited and waited then when everyone was almost finished with their dinners our meals were brought out. Our waiter (Tatiana) never came back by to check on us regarding us not receiving our meals. Though the turkey wing meal was tasty but by the time we received it I had decided to just take my meal home with me. I also felt that our waiter was just a little unprofessional with her sarcastic joking and quippy remarks. She said that this was her second job. She seemed tired and impatient at times and seemed bothered when my husband asked her for water refills. No matter what, one should always serve guests with professionalism and be willingness to make sure your guests want for nothing. We were very nice and polite to her (no issues from us). My daughter is a manager at a restaurant in LA. She is known for her ability to make customers enjoy eating there and trains her staff to do the same. Our server missed the mark this evening but collected a healthy tip. She then asked us to give her a good rating in Google by name(?) Really happy to find this gem in my neighborhood. I have to start with the customer service because it was 5 star! Bri is a fantastic server and made sure my group had a great time. She was attentive with a sweet, fun personality that added to our experience. The drinks and menu items are pretty standard for a lounge. Nothing I feel like I just have to have again which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. It was enjoyable though. Happy hour drinks prices are great and the ambience is very cute and comfortable. Crowd and music were greet. Adult vibes. Went on February 1st. So, let me start off with J was our bartender, waitress and she was amazing. When first walking in this spot is very nice. We loved the ambiance and decor. We had a few hiccups because there were a few call outs and it's still fairly new but when I tell you J made up for that!!! Let's talk about this food. OMGGGGG it was a party of 11 people and we all got something different. That food was DELICIOUS, AMAZING and so Damn good we forgot to take pictures. We asked to see the cook so we could thank her. Very cute place when you walk in and vibey with great music! I am rating this a 3 because it feels like it just opened in terms of service. We had a good experience with the waitress that ended up serving us thankfully but I was worried! Upon arriving, the service was slow and our greeter/waiter looked very confused with orders we were making from the menu. Our new server redeemed the experience as she slotted in. We liked our food with the the deviled eggs, bam bam shrimp (they were cool and nicely breaded and seasoned), the oxtail taste pasta (great!; one addition would be a little jerk to the cream sauce), shrimp and grits (great but recommend cheese grits for sure), and the Phillip which was told it was good! Please consider security and better lighting on the exterior of your space per the incident that happened when I was there back early this year in the parking lot. Every business that has been in the spot doesn't last because of the area and crime. Make these adjustments and you will sustain.
