Checked out Pure Lounge and Café for the first time, and it was a good time! It's tucked in a shopping plaza next to Target in North Druid Hills, which made parking super easy (and it's free). There was a security guard checking IDs, but it also made me feel safer parking there, so no complaints. The lounge itself is pretty spacious, with mostly sectional seating that can fit at least 8 people--definitely great for groups. I went on a Friday night around 11 p.m., and the crowd was just right. It wasn't overly packed or rowdy, but people were still having fun, and the music was really good. My friends and I had already eaten, so we just ordered hookah, which was only $25--super reasonable, and it was decent quality. The server came around to check on us every so often, which was nice. I think the lady who checked us out was Meron, and she was cool and efficient. Overall, great place for hookah, music, and a chill vibe. Hi! Our initial server Lena was very uninterested in helping out my party of 6. We were sat outside near a cigarette smoke & she did not accommodate our party for better seating. They put a serious damper on my birthday and I can't get that day back. It started with calling to inquire about the purchase of a section. The woman on the phone was short and unfriendly. I paid the deposit over the phone for the largest section in the club and it felt like I was inconveniencing her by calling. The night of the party (Saturday night) they would not allow my guests to sit in my section before my arrival and would not explain why, to me or to my guests. I arrive and my server is friendly initially but quickly develops an attitude. Again, I'm not sure why as I already paid a deposit and I informed them of how many people were attending. I designate a person for the server to talk to so that way I can enjoy my guests. She still insists on talking to me for the simplest of things. I was promised a free hookah for ordering the largest section in the club, of course I didn't get it. They close down early (!!!) I pay cash, OVER the 20% gratuity already included and left. My party and I are standing outside as we were not allowed to wait inside for our Ubers. Suddenly, security is demanding that I come back inside because I was "short on the bill." After coming back inside they realize they miscounted. I demand the extra tip I had initially left due to their rudeness. I receive my change & I receive no apology, the bartender just instructed the guard to "show them to the door and lock it behind them." Birthdays happen once a year. I like to give honest reviews and don't threaten people with bad yelp reviews. I read reviews before coming to this place. Unfortunately, I don't think things have changed from what people have already said. Bar staff was not wearing masks. For 18% gratitude included automatically in your bill, service was sub par. They brought out our hookah and had us prepare it instead of preparing it themselves. You'll get better service at Olive Garden. Sex on the beach hookah flavor was great and so was the Pure Special cocktail. It won't be enough however to intrigue me to going back. This place was a very nice and relaxed spot to smoke hookah and have a drink. The chicken tenders were very soft and seasoned well. They were actually some of the best I ever had. The best part was the 5 star service from our main waitress who was attentive and friendly. When our waitress was gone various staff went out of their way to check on our table. This lounge is awesome and I have to mention the music was a mix of reggae and afro beats early in the evening and hip-hop / R&B later through the night. So far this experience in Atlanta is by far the best with the picks I have followed because of Yelp. read more

I'm giving my first visit 4 stars because I think this is a sexy place worth visiting. The DJ was excellent, the patrons were good-looking and polite. My lemon pepper wings were okay - they came quick, were super hot but a bit on the salty side. It definitely feels like a couples or group joint though. I'm dropping a point because the bartender just needs to do better. When security is nicer and cooler than your bartender you need a new bartender. My buddy showed up and I warned him but he said I like to over-tip my bartenders... I said just wait a lil bit and let's see what you think... Pure Lounge is indeed a hidden treasure in the Brookhaven area. It is small in size but packs a big punch in style, service, and music! I came on a Friday night at around 11:30 PM and it wasn't packed but the music was lively & the customers seemed very satisfied. They were dancing & having a great time, which is always a good sign. I love the decor of this place...it is very trendy and clean. It has about 4 or 5 large booths, along the wall, for groups or for an intimate party of 2 & seating around the bar. It also has a nice patio with seating along the railing. The bar is surrounded by flatscreen tv's & bar stools with back support, which I appreciate! The DJ: Whoever the DJ was, on this night (8/11/17), deserves an award. His transitions were seamless from song to song & his playlist was packed with the latest Hip Hop of today & even the late 90's/early 2000's. He took me back to my old college days while staying current, which is hard to do. And he didn't belabor a song...he played it just long enough for you to get into but not get too bored with it! AND the dj's music is linked to the actual music videos of the song, which was dope because a lot of lounges/clubs will play the song & have a movie playing or videos of other songs, which is extremely annoying! Service: The service is quick...the bartenders could be a little more friendly but they aren't bad. Just an occasional smile when greeting customers would go a long way but again the service isn't bad. I ordered a drink and some hookah & was surprised that I'd spent less than $30, which was a treat for me because hookah, in this city, can be very expensive and not very flavorful. The hookah lasted a long time & the drink was made just right...I don't remember the name of it but it was a fruity drink but it wasn't too sweet & it wasn't overpowered by too much alcohol. This place isn't all it's cracked up to be. My first experience was better than my last. My first experience it was good, I had drinks and hookah I would say between my boyfriend I about 6 drinks all together plus hookah, equaled to about $100 but the service was good and drinks were strong which had us coming back again to return. Our last visit which was, July 5th,2019 at about 8:00pm was awful. We had a server, I don't recall her name but she was wearing a short black dress and sneakers and shoulder length natural hair was our server. She first approached us to ask if we wanted hookah or drinks. After the second round of drinks and we received our hookah, she did not return at all to see if we were doing alright... wanted another round.. or nothing. It was awful, In fact she was at the bar smoking hookah with her coworkers and other customers just socializing. I had to get up out my seat and walk over to her, where a lady with dreads stopped me and asked if I was okay.. I asked for the check since we had been sitting there for 30 mins or more without service. Like we were invisible or something. When we got the bill, I see they added 18% gratuity onto the check for TWO PEOPLE. So that's why I see, their overall service and being attentive to every customer doesn't matter because they're getting paid regardless. I never had an experience like that there, and it was sad because I referred others to this spot. I visited this establishment on a Sunday around 9 pm. It has a pretty chill vibe which I like. Not many people were there. No one was inside, but there were a few people on the patio. This was fine with me seeing as how I didn't feel like being around a major crowd anyway and the weather was nice. They had a pretty good mix of music playing on the inside. It's loud, so it would be hard to hear the person next to you. The patio is much quieter, but it doesn't have a good view though...just Taco Bell, Target, and the parking lot :( There was only one young lady working, but she provided decent service. The bad part about being here is that they were not serving alcohol...I don't know the reason behind this, but I like to drink while smoking my hookah, so this was very very disappointing. I'm unsure if it was BYOB, but it would have definitely brightened my night if it were. Hopefully, the owner can implement this when they are not able to serve alcohol. I'm guessing if would have been difficult since she was the only server available. We didn't order a food, nor did we get a menu. I didn't see anyone else eating or smell any food, so I assumed they were not cooking. I did see 2 other workers (not servers) taking a break in the back, so maybe food was available. The hookah was great! It cost us $25 (Strawberry Mint). At one point, it did not pull correctly and the server fixed it right away and she gave us more coal later on. She also informed us that ladies night is on Wednesday. $15 hookahs and $5 drinks. As others mentioned, there was a service fee of 18% which honestly wasn't too bad, seeing as how we only got a hookah. She was able to split our bill which was a plus. I do plan to check this place out on a Wednesday. I love low key spots like this. Hopefully, we can get some drinks next time. I'll update my review after I give it another try. We asked the server about it and sure enough when she went to talk to the kitchen staff, they told her that those were leftover from the day before! Who does that?! They offered to make fresh fingers but after about 30 min and not chicken, we cancelled. SMH. HOOKAH: Decent flavor options. Not overly expensive like some places in ATL. It was good. SERVICE: SLOW.....yes at 8pm.....SLOW. The bartender was also the server and she just couldn't handle it all. They definitely seem understaffed. We needed our checks separated and we were asked to mark on the check who had what. After doing so, she STILL couldn't get the checks separated correctly. That was another 20 minute ordeal. PARKING: No valet but this place is located in a small parking lot. TIP: Go for Happy hour and plan to stay. That way you can have a seat. Don't expect much on the food or service. I came here on a Sunday night with a girlfriend. I don't typically go out late on Sundays and I noticed that many of the places I do frequent close at midnight on Sunday. My friend helped me do a quick google search and we seen that this place didn't close until 2 AM. We were greeted immediately and it was open seating. A server came to us immediately to get our drink orders. Service was the best I've ever had in Atlanta ! 3 ladies checked on us throughout the night and made sure our cups were filled. We didn't eat, but the food they brought to the table beside us looked really good! Overall it was a nice ambiance, the music was a mix of trap trap, and early 2000s. Will never go back to this spot! Went in on a Tuesday while I was in the area and I was the only customer in the whole place. The bartender acted as though I was bothering her ordering a drink and food but she took my order then left the establishment completely. The hookah lady brought my food to the table and told me the bartender would be back. My already overpriced $13 crown and coke came with an additional $3.49 charge for the coke in my drink. It wasn't bad enough that I go charged for the coke, but the bartender turned my bill into $35 when she added a 18% gratuity. So after my favorite lounge in Atlanta closed, I decided to go on a mission to find something equivalent. I discovered pure lounge and find it to be decent. I frequent pure lunch twice a month because I love their hookah. The hookah is by far, the best I've had and lasts a long time. I don't care for the drinks, so whenever I go I keep it simple by ordering my go to drink crown and coke. Every time I go they seem to expand their menu and change food prices. My first time frequenting the lunch I ordered wings for $10 not including the fries. So I paid $5 extra for the fries. The wings were baked and pretty good but definitely not worth $10 for 6. Since then, they've added quesadilla and sandwiches to their menu but I had yet to try any of their other foods. From what I've heard it can get pretty crowded on weekends around 10:00. I always make it a point to go during the week after a long day of school or work just to relax and be in a calm atmosphere. It is often not crowded on weeknights between 9:00-10:00 so if you're a person that wants to avoid crowds this is the best time to do. On the flip side if you're a person that likes crowds your best bet is to go on the weekend. I don't know if they charge cover fees on weekends or for males. But I do know there is no entry fee during the week. Parking is great and their are plenty of spaces to go around. read more
