The dillard's department at the mall is fucking bullshit. We had a rude lady come up to us and told us we couldn't be in a dressing room because it was not on HER SIDE. Which was ridiculous because she said one word to us but our friend was on a whole different side so we went with our friend. She wanted business but we told her we didn't need her and wouldn't leave us alone, and our friend had another lady helping her. They were too pricey and if they want service from me mark down the fucking prices. read more

**womens clothing section on friday April 10th** Here to join in on all the bad reviews because apparently some of these people love to be rude to customers for no reason. I finished trying on clothes at 7:30 and was not quite sold on purchasing them yet. I went up to this lady (who i assume is the same one I overheard in the fitting rooms with an attitude to other customers) and politely asked if i could place these items on hold. To my understanding and from previous experience, I've never had issues with putting an item on hold at dillards. She very rudely replied "No we close in 10 minutes." Mind you, their online hours say they don't close until 8 and it was now 7:34. I continued to clarify that I mean until end of business day tomorrow (I worked retail for 2 years and we were able to hold for 24 hours) She then again with an attitude said no. Regardless of if they can or can't wasn't the problem, the problem lies with how this woman spoke to me. Like girl... do better... be nicer to people..... Just bc you're in a bad mood doesn't mean it's acceptable to talk to other women that way for no reason. read more

Appalling customer service. Just try and find someone to help you! I was there with my blind mother today and the first person on the floor we found was a mean Russian lady who wouldn't do anything more than point towards the area of the store we were looking for. ordered boots online and was informed they were in stock. never received the status of the order although was charged for the order the same day. went to the Dillard/Mall of Louisiana and was informed by manager and cashier that the order was cancelled the same day I ordered it . informed it could be because it was not in stock. Why would you charge me for an order that is not in stock and why did I not receive any notification. The manager offered no apology, only to try and sell me for higher priced boots in the store. Snooty woman in the men's department. Went in to get something for work and her negative energy and condescending attitude were unreal. The cologne girls were nice though, very eager to make a sale. The other girl, however, once she realized they didn't have what I was looking in my size was a total turnaround. Got the impression she hated being there. Still, you might as well go. I will quite literally never spend another dime here again after being a loyal customer for over 6 years. They sold me a pair of two different sized shoes, one shoe was a 9.5 and the other a 10 when I really needed a 10. I ended up moving after getting a chance to wear the shoes, effectively losing the box and receipt. I tried to finally return them today after getting the chance to wear them and realizing *their* mistake, and they refused to remedy the situation without me providing a receipt or the box (acting as if I had stolen two differently sized shoes). After speaking with four different employees (excluding the manager who never bothered to speak with me) and wasting 45 minutes, I left with the resolve to never give my business to them again. I wasn't even asking for a return, simply for them to take the wrong size shoe back and replace it with the correct size. read more

Good day, My wife went to Dillard women department store today to find some dress shoes in Baton Rouge La. While shopping no sales person ever greeted her. So while I was sitting there waiting on her I decided to ask one of the sales person to please get her a size 8 in a certain shoe. The sales person than brought me over the shoe. Meanwhile my wife was still shopping and another sales person ask her if she needed help. My wife said no that another person is now helping her since she never greeted us. The sales person than starting talking aggressively toward my wife. My wife than comes over to tell me the situation and the sales person follows my wife over and starts another aggressive confrontation. I than tell the sales person my wife was not talking to her she was talking to me. Bottom line the sales person got mad since she was not getting the commissions. That is no way you should treat a paying client. Be nice and greet your customers and they will purchase items from you. Went after Christmas shopping for my honorable second son in the men's department at Dillards. Found some great t-shirts celebrating the LSU National Championship game to be held in New Orleans on January 13 for my eldest son and my baby son. For my second son, found a great pair of leather dress shoes, Ralph Lauren socks, a camouflage pair of pants, and a handsome sweater. I love the Dillards men's store. My review is solely based on my experience in women's clothing on multiple trips into the store. This location has a very wide brand variety with very few size options. I have asked on several occasions if the more average sizes just sell faster, and I've been told my multiple sales people that they just don't order many of the upper sizes but order plenty of 2s and 4s... not really selling to the average person out there. I believe the sales people earn commission at Dillards. My two most recent clothing experiences were in the swimwear and formal dresses departments. To me, shopping for swimwear is a bit daunting and a personal experience. The person working that department made it extremely overwhelming. She first told me of her expertise in the field and excess training she has in swimwear fitting. Then she started randomly bringing me things that were nowhere near what i was comfortable in. Once i finally took my haul into the dressing room, she came in there about a half a dozen times asking if I needed anything. Yes, helpful, but very distracting and overwhelming. She then seemed annoyed that I left without purchasing anything. I had put all the suits back on the hangers and did not leave anything a mess, but she commented on having to put everything back - that was the final straw. I bought my suits on Amazon that year where no one was pushing me. Most recently, I went to the formals section. Having seen several things online I was hoping to see in person, I was very pleased...until i ran into the size 2/4 issue again. I found a dress that would have been great in my size, and someone had ripped the zipper and the dress so i brought it to a salesperson who seemed annoyed that i gave it to her (turns out she worked one section over, but I couldn't know that from where she was standing.) The salesperson here was nice and offered to bring my garments to a dressing room (about 4 different times). A friend of mine was in the area and joined me to assist, and I feel like from then on, the salesperson was lurking, just waiting to make sure we went to her dressing room and to check out with her. Everywhere I turned, she was there. It's nice to see attentive sales people, but it was clear that I needed my space. Overall, the merchandise was pretty dated as well. I tried a couple of things on, but I left empty handed. I will say, i like that they have lots of good brands like Vince Camuto, Gianni Bini, Tahari, Calvin, Antonio Melini, etc, but I don't always feel free to browse with someone breathing over my shoulder. Again, I do like Dillards, and my review is more so based on the customer experience I have had there. read more

Traveling Person, needed to grab a few items from Dillards. A. Men's shoe department staff amazing. This older Cajun Man had style, was jazzy, quick and even made a comparable suggestion that was available in my family members size. This was exemplary service. The most wholesome experience. B. Gosh, it's been a while since I've been back do Dillard's so I'm writing an update. I really love their children's clothing or in my case, "tween" clothing. My daughter and I came here with some friends, who were looking for a particular style of pants. While they were shopping and trying on clothes, my daughter wanted to indulge a bit and try on some clothes. The store is well organized and the racks/shelves are pretty neat. All was good until we walked into the dressing room... the stench in there was pretty bad. We could not pinpoint what it was, but it wasn't pleasant at all. I did not even want to be in there, while my daughter tried on clothes. I was just by the door and was already nauseated. She called me in each time she tried something on. When she was finished, I saw a lady at the register and asked if I could checkout at her station and she kindly said, "yes"! I'm not a fan of shopping, but the ease of trying on clothing and checking out was great! There really is a lot of nice clothing at Dillard's... some pricey and many sale items. I'll be back again soon, but I wish they'd do something about those dressing rooms. read more

I was VERY impressed with the exceptional level of customer service I received when I stopped by this location. The manager did me a total solid and exchanged my shoes so I could have the correct size. This transaction was a total courtesey, as the shoes were clearly worn and the store's return policy says returned merchandise must be in perfect condition. Excellent customer service like this is what inspires customers like me to prefer stores like Dillard's over competitors, even if the other guy's prices are sometimes a bit lower :-) read more

My disappointment with Dillard's is the perfume sales dept. I am dedicated overly expensive perfume shopper. I literally have every perfume released, that I like, of course. I buy 2-3 every month. I go the counter and say "what's new". The last 4 times, easily, I've gone to Dillard's, I was ignored. Not a single sales person addressed me. I have a nostalgia with Dillard's, so I keep trying to go back. Each trip I make I end up going to another dept store to make my purchase. I have to stay the staff was very helpful. They would do pretty much anything for you like track down the dress you need in another size, look up and hold it at another store if needed, help you find a specific type of outfit you're after, etc. Unlike the Dillard's clearance store, they didnt police the fitting rooms. You can just go in and out freely whenever there's an open room. So much less of a hassle! But I guess you can do that when you're not as busy as the clearance one. They do have clearance items and its an extra 40% off right now. Of course many of the brand name dresses don't go up past size 14 or 16. So watch out for that. Every fitting room I've ever been in feels kinda unclean. The two I went into here gave me the same feeling but there was nothing overt besides the carpet. Who doesn't like shopping? I've been shopping at this location for a few years. There has never been a time when I left unsatisfied. The second floor is home to some great fashion. It's the place to be! I really like the BCBG store within this store. The selection is always great! You can count on the BCBG staff to go above and beyond to help you find that special garment. From leggings to cocktail dresses I've been able to find many timeless selections to add to my wardrobe. I love when they have a sale, though it gets crowded it's well worth it. read more

I worked here for a couple of months at the Lakeside New Orleans location. The management, Mr. Jones and the blonde Leslie (not Leslie Coco) we're absolutely horrible to work for. Leslie lied to me about getting the employee discount from "getting the Dillards credit card," which was absolutely not true. They never gave me an employee discount at all because Leslie filed the card as a customer card and didn't apply it under an employee card and never intended on telling me the truth. They are sneaky and manipulative. They overpaid me in my paychecks and when I realized I wanted to be honest about it so I brought it to the attention of both Leslie and Mr. Jones. I was repeatedly told that I was crazy and that the amount was correct. Finally after the third time I brought it up they yelled at ME acting like I "stole" that money from them when I was the one who brought it to their attention in the first place. Then, they told me I owed them $600 more than the actual amount that I owed them and waited weeks to tell me that they lied about the amount and THEY were the ones to owe me money. They are extremely disorganized as a company and overall terrible people to work for. Do yourself a favor and don't support a company that treats its workers like trash. read more

The women's department is 2 floors and the men's and home departments are in another section of the mall (wish the men's dept was closer b/c I never have anything to look at when my wife tricks me into going). What a disappointment! My daughter and I went to try on clothing and the dressing room was absolutely disgusting! It reeked of urine and there was a blood stain on the floor as well! The cushion on the bench had a stain and on the way out, we heard an employee saying they could just turn it over to hide the stain. If your dressing room is so awful, then close it! read more

Dillards has theft problems coming from management. It is cosmetic managers that are the worst and the customers have to do without. My presell went missing and turned up with the manager. Clothing is another fight over who will ring it up. I go to the person that helped me. It is not fun to watch managers yell through the store or grab a person and drag her around. Creepy. read more

By far the best women's shoe department in Baton Rouge!! It can be hard to get someone to help you but for the most part it's a great place to shop. They have pretty good sales throughout the whole store and you can get a heads up if you sign up for their emails. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I'm not a big shopper so when it's time to buy Christmas gifts I try to buy all in one shopping trip and normally go to the mall of Louisiana to do so. I literally needed 5 bottles of perfume for my daughters, wife and aunt. I walked into your store and was attacked by a pack of hungry vultures. I wanted to look at the different perfume gift sets you have and within the first 20 seconds I was literally asked 4 different times "do you need help" "what are you looking for" "can I show you this perfume" and not to mention 2 ladies sticking the perfume in my face asking me to smell. I very clearly explained I'm just looking and will pick out several different gift sets to purchase. I'm not exaggerating, within the next 10 seconds I was asked 2 more times. All this taking place in less than one minute. I simply walked out without purchasing anything. I went straight to Macy's and purchased $700 worth of perfume and WAS NOT attached by vultures. The beauty of this story is the mall has many stores to choose from. I will never step foot in your store again. read more
