I've seen this Macy's at its height and at its low. I feel like it is currently on its upswing. Times have changed, and the department store experience has changed. Macy's as a whole is sort of in the middle of keeping up with that. I recently found a new line they have called On 34 (a nod to its flagship location on 34th Street). I have to say, it is the main reason I have gone into the store lately. I feel like their brands have stepped up, and this location's redesign has been done nicely. Everything is clean, and there are plenty of people to assist. I saw an employee, Andree I think, helping a customer with choosing a dress and he seemed to be very invested in making sure she would be comfortable and stylish at her event. I don't like that they downsized their housewares section and added a furniture section. I'm not sure it was necessary. Also, the Macy's Backstage section is sort of messy and disheveled, but if you feel like digging and finding inexpensive items, go there. I'll be happy to pop in now and then to see if there is anything new and interesting or any great finds. read more

I cannot thank the honest Macy's employees enough. I was looking at luggage last night and my wristlet was unzipped. Somehow all my credit cards, ID and a very large spa gift card fell out along with my business card. An employee found it and was able to email me. I had no idea it was all missing. Got everything back this morning Happy there are still good honest people around. read more

Christmas hours open till midnight. Please call and check Hours. The only mishap was that we deliberately moved our car from Dillards to the Macy's entrance but the Macy's hallway doors were locked. So we had to walk outside to the front of the store. It's all good. Very nice staff and store. read more

This is the second most hideous Macy's that I've been to. I know I have to get older one day (prayerfully) but sheeeesh, I wouldn't want to dress like this as a senior so I know I won't be dressing like this while I'm in my prime. The clothing is sooo non fashionable and just older people looking (sorry). While I'm still in my prime, I'd like to be able to shop for fun, stylish and trendy clothing for younger women but this place is quite disappointing to me. I guess when you've been to the flagship store, there really isn't any comparison elsewhere. read more

Yesterday was Gayle's Birthday and I was here in Baton Rouge on Business. I called and emailed my love and had a nice arrangement from Florali delivered to her office. I also stopped at this Macy's (located within the Mall of Louisiana) for her favourite perfume (Chanel No. 5). And what will Gayle make for Dinner when I return? Reservations! Asians and People of Color: Beware of racial profiling at Macy's at 6301 Bluebonnet Blvd (Mall of Louisiana) . This is especially concerning and likely during the holiday season! My wife and I are longtime card-holding Macy's customers and stockholders. We, unfortunately, found ourselves with deep regret in trusting the store with the key ingredient of our wedding anniversary which occurs during the holidays. On the very day of our anniversary, I decided to surprise my wife with several purses she'd been eyeing, online. In a very happy mood, I went to the purse department and began examining each of the purses to make sure all was well with them before making the purchases. To my surprise, the saleswoman quickly approached and began to take the purses from my hands. When I protested, she confided that she was directly ordered/told to take such actions against people such as myself. She stated, verbatim, that it was Macy's policy! Under pressure to present my wife with a gift, I bought the purses, anyway, but returned them within 10 minutes following a discussion with my (Asian) wife who said she would rather have nothing than to have our family treated so disrespectfully and with obvious discrimination. You see, we have seen countless Caucasians allowed to do exactly what I attempted with absolutely no concern or embarrassment. Contact of the Corporate Office resulted in tone-deaf responses. Basically, they "told" me, through the local store, as they would any slave, that I would get a nominal-value credit. Even though we were the wronged party in the matter. We were not afforded the right or dignity to have any input or say in the matter. My wife and I refuse to be treated as slaves. Adding to their tone-deafness is the fact that the purses manager, Christian Rogers, actually bragged about Macy's (lip-service) policy and celebration of LGBTQ people. What, exactly, does that have to do with our situation? We objected, strongly, and, in turn,Macy's has ignored us, for months. I asked for help from the Macy's CEO, Jeffrey Gennette, through LinkedIn. He does not/will not respond. Beware of profiling and outright discrimination at Macy's. If you are a person of conscience, don't believe their ads. Don't give them your trust or your money. There are better places to shop. read more

Man man man, what is going to happen to the department store, and more specifically what about the department store inside a mall? Once upon a time the department store was a mall itself before malls were built which only increased the diversity of a department store---the department store has clothes, jewelry, household goods, white goods , and sometimes furniture. Clothes include men, women and children and go from t-shirts to suits, from casual and pajamas to evening dresses. Everything for 1 stop shopping unless you want a rotisserie chicken for $6.99. But it has everything else. Unfortunately, this world has so many more offerings such that the department store now contains a lot of list price and overpriced offerings for a bargain hunter like me but in an effort to meet and react to people like me, Macy's has areas of many clearance and last chance offerings so that the bargain shopper may be able to get great deals at very decent price so this is a place I need to return if I need stuff whenever it is I end up back at the Mall. A department store like Macy's has many employees and during my visit I encounter at least a handful of them and all were polite and friendly and as such making my visit as painless as possible read more

If you are a PLUS SIZE shopper you will LOVE this Macy's! Very fashionable (non-granny) selection with lots of options. If you like a bargain, sign up for their store credit card. They send out LOTS of coupons and sales notices. It's hard to find fashionable plus clothes. This is my favorite place to shop now. read more

Okay, so why do I love Macy's? They have got everything from clothes to home needs. I haven't come here to purchase clothes in about a year or so because Charlotte Russe is now my go-to for that. However, I love Macy's for gifts. Have a wedding you're going to? You can almost always find something special here for that happy couple. Looking for jewelry or cosmetics, well sky's the limit here; they have an abundance of that here, too. Going on a trip? They've got luggage and all sorts of goods you may need to for your travels or to make your travels a lot easier and comfortable. For the most part, the customer service is decent - just give 'em a break during big holiday shopping times. The store is 2 floors complete with a sections for womens, mens, kids, baby, housewares, jewelry, cosmetics, shoes, bags, accessories and even gift wrap! BEWARE: they may turn you into a shop-a-holic and you may spend countless hours here. Good luck to ya! May the best shopper win! read more

This review is based one two trip I made at Macys. The first one two months ago and the second today. I am extremely disappointed at the customer service. My first trip I waited in line for 30 minuets to return a dress shirt. I felt bad for the sales associate and walked from the men's clothing to the Ralph Lauren polo section and asked them to make the easy unopened return or call for some back up help on the men's side. The response of the associate at the polo section stunned me " this is Macys" she said before rejecting to make the return and asking me to wait and return at the proper area which is literally 20 feet away. Her reasoning was that 1- they make commission but no one makes commission on a return!!!! 2- she said Macys is usually understaffed. I even offered to take back the returned shirt to the men's section which again is 20 feet away. She denied. I was able to return the shirt after 50 minutes. Today I went in at exactly10 am. Went straight to men's suits and know exactly what I wanted and got it and went to try it on. The pants in the suit needed to be hemmed so clearly they were returned by someone and put back on shelf with out being checked. I told the sales associate this and he said you'll have to go through all the suites in the area and see if I find another set. I did since he was with a customer who came after me and was covering out what 50% off a shirt should be. I found another suit of my size and this one had size 42 w pants in it instead of the correct size 36. I went to associate who was still helping the same customer trying to figure out what 50% should be. Again I was told to look through the suit sets and see if I can find the correct size pants under the suit. I again did. Luckily I found the pants my self. Now I had to wait another 1 hr ! Bec he was with the same customer trying to see what a 50% off a shirt should be !!!! I waited till 12:30 to be checked out. Moral of this long story They are understaffed. The staff isn't properly trained. I have nothing against the associate. You could tell he was speechless as I did all the work and waited 2 hrs to be checked out. But comeone Macys. A little help here would've been nice. Comeone Macys 2.5 hrs to get a suit and help your self attitude. Could've have asked someone else to check me out or called back up in an empty store Now I discover I could have used the code MOM and received 20% off I even asked the associate and he said nope no coupon codes today. I have shopped here for 7 years Last three trips have been nothing but disappointment. I know they changed the manager of the store. Comeone guys. Could've ordered online if I had to do everything my self and saved 3 hrs. read more

Nice and cheap stuff, but the service was awful. We waited at the register for like 10 minutes while a group of about 3 employees stood nearby, chatting. They saw us waiting and just continued talking. So, we went to another desk and the lady took about 5 minutes to notice us, and then when she did, she took her sweet sweet time ringing us up. What a terrible example of Macy's! I've been to quite a few Macy's all over the country and this one is by far one of the worst. It's almost worth the drive to Lakeside in New Orleans. The store is constantly in disarray and the staff seem as if this is the last place they want to be. Heaven forbid you need some help in getting shoes or anything for that matter. This store stays open till 10 pm, and they recently revamped the store and changed the look and feel of the store. I agree with the person who said they had a hard time finding a sales clerk. An exception , though, is " Lynn" who works as a manager. She went out if her way to try to help me find some new jeans eventhough she was preparing to go upstairs to close up.( the following incident occurred another time) I'm unsure why, at closing time , portions of the store are roped off with plastic chains. As I exited the escalator , I needed to find the north exit/ entrance on level one. I accidentally walked into a " restricted" ( plastic chains)area and was strongly reprimanded by a sales associate . ( this occurred after the announcement was made that the store was getting ready to close). Apparantly , two clerks were standing in the jewelry department. I simply wanted to get out of the plastic chained area which I entered once I exited the escalator towards my left . Had I known these plastic chains were blocking off this portion, ( there was a huge space between the escalator and any plastic chained area), I would have used the elevator instead. I don't usually even get a chance to shop, but I am now aware that when this particular Store is closing , customers are not allowed to walk in any area that is roped off. The jewelry part, and many other areas, were restricted... So, I was escorted out of this area. The clerk, on Tuesday night, March 11,around 10 pm, had an over reaction when I simply asked her for directions on how to 1. Get to the North exit 2. How and where she wanted me to get over or under the plastic chains I'm unsure why she felt that I was a threat, and to be honest, since they had recently remodeled this store , the usual landmarks were not familiar to me once I got to the first floor. In all of my years of living here, and in shopping at other department stores,from Atlanta to Richmond, VA, the " trapped " feeling and the unnecessary reprimanding from the jewelry area clerk ( once she realized I was even there, in this area because I turned left ) made me not want to shop here again. I also had purchased a mans bathrobe that cost about 60 dollars plus tax that evening. When I got home, I found the exact same robe, same manufacturer on their website on a sale price for about 30 dollars! I will never make the mistake of staying till closing time at this Macys. They need to warn customers that some areas are restricted during this time so that customers , like me, are made aware of the plastic chain ropes. It gave me a trapped feeling and the clerk made things worse due to her over reaction . It's also not Ok for a sales associate to berate and reprimand a customer for accidentally being in the chained area and the clerk raised her voice at me , walked towards me in an angry manner , placed her palm on my back to guide me out of this restricted area... Treating me as if I had done something criminal. This angers me because I only asked for directions out of the store... My goal was to leave .. Not be yelled at or chastised. This is one isolated incident that occurred at closing time / it will not stop me from bringing the robe back as a return. If the clerk that worked the jewelry register had simply kept calm and told me which way to exit, this drama would have been avoided. I have worked retail many times... Customers are human, with feelings. Frankly, whoever manages this store needs to find a different method to use to " protect " the customers from situations like this . That clerk had no right to treat me as if I had intentionally done something wrong. I never want to feel that feeling again . read more

The lines are ridiculous. There is no sense of urgency with the staff. We tried to return some shoes for my niece. We waiting in line at customer service who once we got to the front told us we had to go to the shoe department. The shoe department (after we waited in line for 10 minutes) sent us to the children's department. The children's department line took us TWENTY minutes to get to the front of the line and there was only two customers ahead of us. The two women "helping" (there was only one register opened...?) were casually talking about their personal lives and taking their time. This was a miserable experience. read more

Waited 15 minutes to get acknowledged and the lady attended other that was after me. And another extra 15 minutes waiting for the watch specialist to come fix it. I'm still currently waiting for that person to come. Worst experience ever. read more
