Oh, they were around, and they saw us, but they had their faces buried in their iPhones, and disappointedly, they never approached us. Went in to buy some men's cologne. First off there's 2 seperate stores. One is a designated men's the other is a designated woman's, that was confusing. Anyways once an associate cleared that up I was directed to where the other store was. When I finally got to the other store I was immediately assisted by some employees. One which was super helpful enough to have me try some popular stuff as well as stuff that was looked over! I ended up finding the cologne for me. Today I went to Dillards and I was trying a perfume. I usually wear Creed and I wanted to try the other fragrances Creed has. I put some perfume and walk away to see how it sets on me before buying it. This employee comes and yells "They put perfume for free, leave, and they don't even say thank you" referring herself to me. I decided to ignore her comment that made me feel humilliated and EXTREMELY uncomfortable and purchase the perfume anyway. I asked the sales associates to call Michael (the store manager) because I wanted to talk to him about what just happened. She told me he isn't at the store so I told her to call the manager of the department and she told me she also isn't there. The same employee that yelled start pointing at me from far away and smirking at me. Her name is Marisol and she is a rep of another brand. So how does Dillards allows reps to act this way. This Marisol person made the experience unacceptable and I'm never shopping at Dillars/ Creed again. read more

Went dress shopping today, they have a good sale selection but finding my size in general is a nightmare I wear a 0 and most stores do not carry that size. BUT I was able to find a really good deal on a dress in the juniors section was was originally 98$ was not 34$. I did find another perfect dress in my size too but 300$ vs 34$ I think you know which I picked We went here on a Saturday two weeks before Christmas in the late afternoon the entire mall was jam packed BUT luckily Dillard's was not. My only complaint is the girls who checked me out, they did not ask me any questions none of the "did you find everything " not even pushing the credit card they stayed talking to each other being very gossiping. When they finished the transaction they tried to hand me the dress and receipt but I was putting away my card onto my wallet she then walks around the counter not waiting for me to even be able to zip up my wallet and asks me to move over out of the way of the lady behind me. I mean at least let me zip up my wallet I don't want to loose my cards let alone someone try to steal while I'm trying to put stuff away. read more

This review is for the Armani department. Be careful! the female there will put your funds in a credit card after providing her a receipt. She accused me of opening a make-up after exchanging the product for another. I had not even walked out of the store when she accused me. I had not even opened the bag because I was still trying out the makeup sample. She said if you don't like it you have 30 days to return it. I then called her the same day and told her that I was not to happy with the sample product. Her reply was. OH! no you cannot return it. I told her it is still new and not used. Just be careful who you deal with in that department. read more

Called the store to check if items were in stock for a time sensitive event, funeral in 2 days so online warehouse shipping wouldn't work. I was prepared to provide SKUs and was told I would get call back as I know the world/retail/CSR roles are busy with in person customers as well. I was really hoping for great customer care during these difficult times. What I received was the impression of inconveniencing the staff, rude and unprofessional attitudes and a real look at why stores like Nordstrom will always be a selected preference over Dillard's. Note to corporate: hire professionals who care. Not everyone has the time for the online order and pray options and traveling around town to attempt to find out your store has nothing in stock anyways. Lost a customer on this experience and your team should be ashamed! read more

Today's experience knocked them down a lot for me. When I purchased a dress for my daughter less than 30 days ago I clarified it could be returned within that time frame, and sure enough they said yes it could. We went in and right away they said it couldn't be returned, perfect condition and had receipt. I asked to speak to the manager and explained how we were told we could within 30 days. She only would give me store credit. Either your staff needs to be trained better so they can provide accurate information, or you need to honor your return policy. read more

This is for the Shoe Department: I have heard rumors of racism in El Paso prior to my moving out here but I refused to pre-judge. I try to keep an open mind. I've loved most of my retail/restaurant experiences in this town so far. I didn't love my experience the other day in Dillard's (Cielo Vista Mall locations) Shoe Department. It was not very busy, there were multiple retail associates just milling about, talking with one another. There were others that were waiting hand and foot on the Hispanic customers. Noone paid any attention to myself or this African American woman (who obviously needed some retail assistance). I walked around trying on display shoes (I'm a size 5.5 or 6, which are many of the displays)--very clearly interested in buying a pair. I even started carrying around one of the displays finally, thinking if they aren't going to come to me, i'll come to them. Well, I greeted an associate with a "hello!" and he did not even bother to look up before he walked off then asked a well-to-do looking Hispanic female if she needed help. Screw that. I just walked to the cashier, asked for the pair in the back, and bought them. I noticed the African American lady just left, w/o having been helped at all. I will utilize Zappos online from here on out, despite liking the shoe selection at Dillard's. On the flip side, the lady in the hosiery department was very sweet and helpful. read more

I drove in from Las Cruces to shop at the Mac counter at Cielo Vista Mall. I wanted to buy 2 eyeliners. Clerk was busy when I walked in. I knew what I needed and originally wanted to just grab and go, but I was willing to browse while she finished up. She had a very fake friendly demeanor (I felt it was racial - sadly/shamefully) and when I explained to her that it was ok for her to finish the paper work, (I was trying to be nice to "warm" her fakeness up some) but she insisted to help me. That possibly hurt sales because I was willing to browse for a while and probably would have found more to have bought, but she was adamant on helping me. Please don't misunderstand, I'm thankful she asked if she could help me when I arrived, but when I say, "It's okay. You can finish whatever your working on and I'll just look around for awhile", just let me look around for a few minutes, maybe it'll help your sales. She insisted on having it her way, so I told her I needed eyeliner. I told her I couldn't remember exactly what it was, but that I knew I was in the computer system; I've been buying Mac for 10yrs there and at Sunland. The last two Mac eyeliners I had bought, I had bought there at Cielo Vista. She never checked the system, so I now have two eyeliners that I hate and will have to drive almost 2 hrs round trip with traffic and construction to return them. This was also the first time (ever) that I was not asked for the item to be entered into my Mac account with them at check-out....strange. Immensely disappointed. I just now see another review about racism at Cielo Vista...Wow! So sad. My advice; hire people who love people...no matter what. Most likely, I'll not be going back and switch to ordering online. I love Mac make-up and have been known to buy $300 in one visit. Wondering how that would have pumped up her sales for the month... I may not be Hispanic, but the money is still green. read more
