I identified two competing shoes and immediately decided on both; one for pop of color and the other for boldness. Onto earrings: this was not a pleasant experience as we were ignored my the male associate. So upon asking for help he decided to assist another lady who happened to simply walk up. We received assistance for another sales person and when I asked about formal purses, she even escorted us down to get assistance from a real gem, Alyce! She was once a personal stylist so she wanted the whole rundown of the event and dress. She personally talk to me about occasion appropriateness, balance and harmony with my shoe choices! I was so appreciative of her attention to detail. We even walked back to jewelry and found better options and after my purchase she walked me to show me nail polish to get. THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! Dillard's used to be my favorite store but now I rarely shop there. Prices are high and not enough salespeople to check out. So sad!!

Impressed by the service in the shoe department at the Oak park Dillards today. I haven't been to the mall in years and I was pleased to find a huge variety of shoes that were different from what I was able to find on Zappos & Amazon. The best part was the service though. They were clearly understaffed with only two sales people (that I could see) and at least 20 customers. Monique was pleasant and didn't make me feel rushed. She helped me in a timely fashion with a smile on her face the whole time. She did such a good job I decided to buy a second pair of shoes. I need to go back to the mall more often. I received a $15 promotion (on their credit card) to use towards their merchandise.No restrictions on the number of items, just a flat $15 promotional discount. I bought three eligible items and received $5 off each item. I had to return two items so it would make good business sense that the $10 would be adjusted towards the item that I kept.I made the request. I was not given an adjustment of an additional $10 off that should have been added(subtracted) from my first item. I even called customer service for an adjustment and was not helped. read more

This store is absolutely beautiful. Someone clearly works there making sure the merchandise is presented with style and grace. There are no clothes on the floor and everything is organized incredibly well. I would give five stars for the store alone, but the customer service needs a lot of love. In the women's section on floor one it is nearly impossible to find a sales associate. This afternoon I encountered a sales associate in the women's dress section that was rude beyond belief. I won't go into details but if I see her again at this Dillard's location I will walk the other way. Most sales team members are kind and helpful but I wish they were more plentiful and visible. Overall I really love Dillard's and I'll be back but with the hope that I find more helpful and friendly employees that are easily found. read more

Good -Prices -Sale (50% off certain dishes with an additional 50% off-- $33 for 16 pieces) -Assortment of goods -Organization Bad -Annoying cosmetic people (when I say no 548 times, I will not say yes the 549th time) -Not enough cash registers/staff in the department I was in. -Bathrooms. By far the most DISGUSTING bathrooms I've ever been in. This includes truck stops, bars, gas stations, etc. I didn't touch a thing, washed my hands and then put hand sanitizer on 3 times. Yes, 3. Loved they were all wearing mask. I learned that Dillards no longer carry Fashion Fair makeup. I was directed to the MAC station. There I met with the most pleasant young lady working the counter . Her name was Alicia. Probably not how she spells it. Lol!! Alicia helped me select the correct color for my skin tone. The Store Manager Matt is extremely helpful and really cares about increasing and retaining Dillard's Family Members (Get your great rewards card from any cashier). Of course that Dillard's landmark being such a huge historic structure some things will seem well worn, but what intelligent person judges a book by the cover? I don't know any women that enjoy bra shopping. And I was 2 years overdue. I walked into the Lingerie department and asked if they offered fittings. I was immediately swept off my feet and into a dressing room where Shaheen got right down to business, and had me sized within minutes. She then brought multiple options to try on. By the time I was done, in record time, I was happily leaving with my new purchases. The process was seem-less, quick, efficient, and pleasant. My daughter and I went to Dillard's last Wednesday and went to the fitting room to try on some clothes, while I was waiting for her to try on her clothes, I noticed the carpet, it was the most disgusting carpet I have ever seen, I have video to prove it. The walls and doorway trim had gouges all over, it really needed painting, the cashier said they tell management all the time but nothing ever happens. I haven't been in here in years, but I went there with my mom to find a long dress for a formal event. We spent 20 minutes looking for the women's dress department. Instead of all the dresses being in one section, there was a "teen" dress section, a "Petite" dress section, a "plus" size dress section and none of the sections had a sign. Besides the poor layout, I passed about 6 sales associates, none of which spoke to me. I honestly felt invisible. My level of invisibility went to the next level in the shoe department, where you have to have help to get your size........ I was quickly reminded why I have been away from this store for so long. read more

I am giving one star even though I wish I could give none. Me and my friends were looking for dresses for my wedding and another wedding. My friend wanted to try on the dress we found and we walked around the whole Dillards and only found two dressing rooms. One was by the prom dresses where younger kids were trying dresses on. So we went to one that had no young kids that we could see. Well we were patiently waiting and this old lady and her grand daughter (I assume) asked if we were waiting I said yes then she went and looked for an associate. The associate comes up to me and my friend after checking out the dressing room and says "we actually reserve these dressing rooms for petite people. I need to help over there now." Telling two woman they can't use a dressing room cuz their not "petite" is fucking rude. Do not ever say that to people. I hope you see this and learn from your mistake. read more

I happened to pop into Dillard's Oak Park today because I had a gift card I needed to use. I know Dillard's usually has great sales and they didn't disappoint! Sperry Top-Siders were on sale for as low as $38 and the selection overall was pretty good to the point of rivaling Nordstrom. I came specifically to replenish my stock of facial cleanser and found the selection of Kiehl's, Lab Series, and Jack Black to be acceptable too. Sometimes the Dillard's in more rural areas like Bartlesville, Topeka, etc tend to have more bare bones stock so I was pleased with the Jack Black cleanser which I scooped up for $18. I can't forget to mention that mens dress shirts were up to 65% off and I found a nice Ralph Lauren dress shirt in my size (there were an awful lot of mediums and larges so if you're fit/slender come here!) for $33. The service from every associate in mens grooming was professional and made me feel welcome and valued. The store was clean and despite the impressive sales there was no clutter or mess in the aisles or displays. I gotta say had I gone to Nordstrom like usual I would have left with a way bigger dent in my wallet. I will have to come back later this fall to check things out! read more

Under the impression that this was a fancier department store, I was expecting the Bloomies elegance. Though after entering I realized it may be Bloomingdale prices, it had a Sears feel (which isn't a knock). It just felt comfortable, like your best friends basement but the parents were home, make sense? There was nothing elegant (except the items they sold) in this store. Finding things was more like a library sense of knowing they had what you wanted. It was quite large, having multiple openings into the mall, and they seemed to have the only covered parking of the mall itself (which helped immensely during the downpours today!). The staff was typical big store staff, keeping to their tasks or counters talking with co-workers. Though they seemed to be approachable, giving smiles as I walked by. read more

The store itself has lots of cute clothes but when it comes to actually buying the clothes, good luck. There is NEVER an employee at any of the check out stations. I walked around the second floor for more than 10 minutes looking for someone to check out and ended up setting all the clothes I wanted on a random rack and leaving. I always come here when I'm in town for business and on occasional visits but today, the service I received from Amanda at the sunglasses area was unacceptable and horrendous. She never greeted us from both the trips she made around us and when we actually picked several pairs of Versace and Burberry sunglasses, we had to go look for her on another area. During check out, her efforts to even be there were minimum. We had to ask her for the case and the box the sunglasses come in. She then managed to say that they were too many of them to go through and she had no time at the moment to do so. We informed her we were fine with waiting as we have all of our sunglasses properly put in their cases and she then grunted and looked through only ONE drawer where she began throwing all the cases and boxes around which took her around 1-2min. Finally, she looked at us and said sorry I don't have them on stock. We told her we didn't want to purchase them as she wasn't being helpful. She then proceeded to say, "okay then, bye". I went into this Dillard's to look at the Dior lipstick. I was placed in a chair and the sales rep put lipliner on me which was all over my face. Then she applied the lipstick over the outline of my lip. She applied foundation on top of my Estée Lauder double wear, which is already thick. My entire face was caked and I tried to wipe it off. She then put more on and asked if I wanted to buy the foundation and other makeup she put on me, I told her no thanks I'll just take the lipstick. So I ended up paying for the 40 dollar lipstick. I walked past the Clinique counter and I was very stressed out at this point... I went up to the Clinique rep and asked her if I could please have a face wipe and explained a little what happened. As I am wiping my face she told the other Clinique lady to "watch out for her": what does this mean?? ... I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my entire life. To talk about me that way because of my age? I am 28 but have a young face. I can't think of another reason they would talk about me that way. After buying 40 dollar lipstick I should be treated like a saint. Or at least with some sort of respect. I will never go back to Dillard's. read more

If I could give 0 stars for this review, I truly would. I searched online looking to see which local store may have had a vest their website had online. I called the Oak Park Store and was transferred to another department. I asked if they had the Nike vest, and the salesperson said that they had plenty of Nike gear, and before I was even able to ask to see if they had what I was looking for specifically when I had mentioned what I saw online by description or item number, she refused to look up anything they had online and just hung up. Today I was in two different Dillard's. We drove the extra 50 mins to get my daughter dream dress in her size. A dress that a sales person at the St Joseph Dillard's helped us to track down. When we got there the sales person was rude and very unhelpful so much so that we abandon the dress that we had driven 50 extra mins to get and made our purchase at JC Penney's instead. I can honestly say that I have never had a good experience here. I mean, I usually feel harassed when I go to this location anyway. I'll give you a few situations where I had crap experiences. 1.) I work in retail and at the time, I was a young 21 year old manager. I was looking for very comfortable shoes and had some money to spend. The shoe dept. was dead, and I had a woman help me. She was so bored with me, she figured probably since I was young, I was just wasting her time. She went to go find me a pair in my size for a very expensive shoe, and I waited for like, 15 minutes before finally leaving. I went to Nordstrom where I know people who work in shoes... needless to say, they got my commission. 2.) Went to Chanel counter. I knew what color I specifically wanted for a foundation. I was more or less forced into buying a color that I knew I wasn't. I am very fair complected and I happen to be a make up artist with a lot of experience. Anyway, bought the foundation, tried it on... and it was of course.. the wrong color. I had to return it. I went to the counter and immediately felt uncomfortable when I told them the reason for my return. I was basically blamed for picking the wrong shade (what?!). There was some confusion on the return going back on my debit card, just asked a question about if I needed to put my pin in for the return (usually you use credit for returns). I was talked to like I was literally 5 years old. The woman spoke in short, one word sentences in the most condescending tone I have ever heard; "HON-EEE. THIS. IS. A. RETURN. THIS. IS. GOING. BACK. ON. YOUR CARD. ENTER. YOUR. PIN." Are you KIDDING ME? I was so offended. I vowed never to return to this location in my life. And I never have. If you are that hard up for commission on $65, there is something wrong. You either are not fit for the job and can't make your numbers, or you need to maybe know more about something called customer service. Little do you know I worked down the hall from you and tell every single person that mentions Dillard's to me about this situation, to this day. read more

I have been shopping at Dillard's for years and love their selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories for women. They have a fabulous selection of dresses for women of all ages and they actually listen to their customers and offer many styles with sleeves! I love their selection of shoes, which is the best in Kansas City! Their handbag selection is incredible! I find the sales clerks are very helpful and friendly! If you need clothing that is age appropriate and conservative, they have it. If you want more trendy boutique items, they have those as well. I would like to see them bring back a few more high end designer lines and remodel their ladies rooms. I agree they need a sign for the North store that designates it as a women's only store for those that are unfamiliar with the fact that the Oak Park location has two stores. One has men's clothing, and home accessories, the other is two floors dedicated to cosmetics, women's clothing, and shoes and accessories. I was in Overland Park Dillards this afternoon. I was ready to buy 2 pair of shoes and I told the sales person one pair was on sale. She went to check - it had a 30% of sign on it. The sales person went to her manager and the manager said no I could not have the 30% off. I told her Dillard's always honors the sale even if it was miss marked - the manager said no it was not her fault, the shoes were not on sale, and she was not giving me the discount. I told her she was about to loose a sale - she did not offer a coupon or any other result to resolve the problem. Men's suits, excellent experience when I dragged two men there to get new suits for a wedding. Attentive and well trained salespeople who worked within our budget and put the look together for both , and the Inventory was very good. Alterations were about 22 more on each suit, but my guys needed extensive alterations. I wish we had gone here first. $890 incl. tax bought two good suits, shirts, ties, suspenders, alterations. May be the only time I get these two into a store for another decade, had to make it count! I'd recommend Chez for help, but they all seemed engaged and attentive. read more

The Dillards shoes section for women has a great selection of desinger shoes of all types (side note there boxes just laying around everywere, not a good appearance) but some of the staff is just horrible. My mother and I walked in looking for some shoes for a party and after looking a while a lady quickly greeted us and another younger couple next to us. I found a really cute pair of Jessica Simpson heels but the lady was nowhere to be found so we asked another lady that was free and asked her to get my size she was really nice about it and asked if we had been helped by someone else and got it right away. When she came back the lady that greeted us first quickly ran over and barked at the lady about how she was already taking care of us. It was completely rude and the other lady was clearly embarrassed. I don't now what kind of system they have there but that first woman never even helped us and just took over. Went to Dillard's Oak Park yesterday. I did not have my credit card as I don't like to carry it or any other shops with me. Other shops are happy to get the number. I had $112.37 in purchases that I wanted to place on my card! The clerk said to enter my social security no and birthday on the machine that is used to swipe credit cards. I entered it and the clerk said no record of my account came up. Told me to do it again and I did! She said my account still did not appear! She said I would have to call the Dillards Credit Card department to find out what the problem is when I get home! So I paid with a check. When I called the Dillards Credit Card department my account came up with no problem! I told him what the problem was and all I want is to have my purchase to show on my account just for rewards credit. He told me that the sales clerk should have called in to get my account No. He told me that he couldn't help me and that I would have to go back to Dillard's to get it straighted out. All I wanted is to have credit points for rewards! ( Which I probably will never see!) There is never enough sales clerks to help or check out on the second floor in the womens clothing departments! NEVER! Needless to say I was very disappointed (except with my Allison Daily purchases) in my experience!
