Nordstrom Rack - Department Stores Near Me - Lenexa, Kansas

I've been a fan of the Rack for years and overall this location is pretty solid. I do think that in this post covid era we find ourselves in, shopping at a department store like this IRL has lost a bit of its charm. I remember pre-covid I used to go here to hunt for a steal on clothes and usually left with some goodies. On my recent visits I've left often without anything in tow, as I think there are often better deals online. I will say, however, that on our most recent visit my husband was in need of a new suit for work and knowing how expensive suits can be, and that he only needs to wear one a few times a year, it was great to find a good price on one here for him. Additionally they were able to alter it in house, which made for one less stop. Overall I'll continue to shop here, but I doubt I'll ever be as frequent of a shopper as I was pre 2020. read more

the Overland Park rack sells a lot of low end men's clothing. it's very different than racks I have visited in other parts of the country, notably Northern Virginia, Dallas, Chicago, and western California. Yes, the merchandise selection & quality is subpar, but so is the behavior of the employees. read more

If you know me, then you know I LIVE for a good deal on a bougie product LOL Nordstrom Rack is that balance between high fashion and budgeted shopping, right up my alley. I was in the market for something cute but church appropriate for Easter Sunday service. I found a few items and ended up picking up a few extra items (as usual smh). I'll post a few pics, but I would recommend this to anyone shopping for comfortable and cute clothes for church, work and a night out on the town. All your bases are covered. Expect to pay about $16-$25 for a blouse, but quality fabric is not cheap so it is worth every penny. They tried to get me to sign up for a store card but nope, I will not tempt myself because willpower is not strong in this one. Happy Shopping folks! P.S. The bag selection is better at TJMaxx. Kinda disappointed by their selection here. Lots of boring old Michael Kors. A few Tory Burch, some Longchamp, but mostly in bright colors. The Marshall's on 160th St. has Longchamp in more neutral colors- black/navy/olive. The sunglasses selection is decent, but very picked over and full of fingerprints from other customers. The makeup/skincare selection isn't bad, but prices are the same as at a regular Nordstrom/Sephora/Ulta. Earring selection is large, with lots of different prices/brands/styles. I happily picked up a few pairs for my daughter and me. I know stores are understaffed lately, and it shows here. The accessories section was a disorganized mess- stuff everywhere, including the floor. read more

My FAVE! I love shopping at Nordy's Rack and I could spend hours in this store. It's filled with beautiful things and it's organized and clean. The deals, and the quality of the products keep me coming back however, the lines are consistently long. I have actually had to leave the store without purchasing things only because the line was too long and I was in a hurry. Parking is also a struggle but that is par for the course in this particular strip mall. Overall, still my favorite place to buy clothes and shoes but if I am in a hurry I tend to avoid it. read more

This Rack location has been good to me over the years. Since I'm an out of towner- and Omaha does not have Nordstrom OR a Rack- I love indulging in the franchise when I travel to cities that have it. This location has all the brand name jeans like citizens, joe jeans, Paige and more. They also have a huge selection in shoes and handbags like Michael Kors and Tory Burch and Marc Jacobs. I usually end up buying shoes, jeans, and their makeup/beauty/skincare items. Always decent deals compared to the real Nordstrom store. This location does not have a lot of home decor like some stores do. read more

So you want some of the Nordstrom brands and a fraction of the price? This is the place. Just realize that you will not be tripping over Louboutin, Atwood or Choo like at a Chicago or Dallas Rack. Unfortunately, just like Nordstrom, the brands have been watered down for the Kansas market. Expect more along the lines of James Pearse, Vince, Cole Haan and Vivian Tam and you will not be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, these are great brands, just don't expect anything mind blowing at the Rack that you haven't already seen across the street. The store interior (and some customers) make you feel like you are browsing JC Penny's, but you are snapped back to reality by the Nordstrom level of customer service. The prices may be cheaper than Nordstrom, but the service is still top notch. Would they offer you bottles of water and mints a Macys? Would you be able to find a sales associate to help you at Kohl's? Would you find a clean dressing room at Dillards? No way! What I love- great deals on men's clothes, shoes and coats. Let's face it ladies, we might be willing to shell out the bucks for our stuff, but your man wants a deal. A deal for him leaves more money for your stuff!! 2 Tips- 1. Sign up for their emails and write down your favorite brands to be notified when they are in stock. 2. Deliveries are made on Tuesdays and sometimes Sunday nights. Ha ha...I've met my match. While Nordstroms is ultra high end (they sell Minnetonkas, which I will buy there), they are too expensive, except for their make up. And I confess, on Nordstrom's sales, I AM THERE! Nordstroms Rack is awesome. I love going into Nordstroms Rack. They have women's and mens clothes, accessories, shoes, purses, jewelry. All discounted some more than hald what you'd pay even at Macy's, much less Nordstroms. It's like...what if Nordstroms became Kohls? They have clean fitting rooms. Women's on one side, men's on the other side. Their selection is fab. I found a few shirts I loved, that fit, and I found an ugly skirt I thought made me look like a mushroom. I have a feeling if you see something you like, you need to buy it then. There's not much else to say. We are lucky to have Nordstroms Rack, even if it is the Gordman's of Nordstroms. read more

I may have been a little hasty in my previous review. I am very happy with the top coat I bought earlier, and some work shoes I bought a couple of weeks later, but I feel the store deserves a more thorough review. Nordstrom Rack carries a mix of older now out of season Nordstrom products as well as some other off season brands. They are not exactly discount brands, but older product that is discounted. Sort of like an upscale outlet store if you will. Now the Nordstrom Rack has a some good buys, but it also has a lot of product that you have to search through to find it. I found a Kenneth Cole topcoat and some dress shoes for work that were super reasonably priced. I've also found Ben Sherman ties for $14 and Robert Talbott and Ike Behar ties for less than $40. I also tried to look for some dress shirts and was a little disappointed that most were trim sized shirts. Trim shirts have become more in style, which is fantastic, but I am a little on the large size of the body index scale and I am still a little better fit in the traditional sizes. The store also seems to be a little overstocked, almost like extra merchandise is crammed into any remaining space. I know the object in retail is to sell as much as possible, but I wish there was a little more room to browse and sample and not feel cramped. The staff is wonderful. They are cheerful and willing to help out with any problem you have. To finish up my re-review, Nordstrom Rack is a good store and has some bargains. You're just going to need to take your time and dig a little bit to find them. read more

I've been wanting to go here for awhile. I'd been seeing some good Haul videos on YouTube from Rack, so I wanted to check it out (mostly for cosmetics). They were having a BIG sale for Easter weekend. There were a lot of great, tempting prices... that Kate Spade bag in the clearance section would have found a new home if it wasn't purple! I was very disappointed with the ransacked cosmetics section. It was just GROSS. Everything was opened and seemed dirty. I think testers are worth the expense if it keeps bad customers from opening everything on the shelves. I did get a little bottle of Betsy Johnson fragrance for about $3, so I was happy with that, but still disappointed overall with the small selection and items in bad shape that I was looking for. read more

I bought a pair of Berkenstock sandals a week ago, I wore them and noticed the buckle was broken so took them back to the store and was refused a refund from the store manager due to having been worn, he was very rude and unwilling to reason with me. NEVER AGAIN will I shop at this store. I am in a role similiar to his and I would never treat a customer the way this man treated me. NO RESPECT! read more

I actually had the quickest return ever here! Ordered shoes online, first and last time lol. Had the order in my email but all he asked for was my email address and was able to pull it up on the system! I swear it took less than 30 seconds. So awesome! I do find the selection here to be hit or miss for myself but I'm a curvy girl (10/12 in normal clothes but that means 14 in high fashion lol) and idk who shops the non stick figure inventory but if I see one more cute dress with a round neck I may throw up in my mouth a tiny bit lol. I spend a lot of time flipping through stuff thinking who buys this stuff for them??? Did they think about what this would look like on a non photoshopped model? but for real, there is some of it that is cute AND flattering. Couldn't find any deals except on old ragged clothes that looked like they were from a goodwill storage barn. Saw sandals and sneakers (Nike, ASICS, brooks) the were the same price as retail anywhere else. But they had soles that were worn. I don't really see anything he draw here. read more

I am never consistently in "the rack", but when I am, I am easily overwhelmed...in a good way. I am a women's size 11 in shoes and I can NEVER find shoes that fit well. I love the rack for their entire wall of size 11 shoes of all prices, brands, and styles. Their clothing section is awesome. I usually stay in the clearance section because you can find some really amazing designer clothes at a discounted amount. If you're looking for something for an event or date night, you can surely find it here!!! read more

First a moment of full disclosure: I am a Nordy. If you are not in the know, a Nordy is someone who has been completely brainwashed by the brothers three and usually have done so via employment. With that said, I enjoyed my experience here. Nordstrom Rack is a bit of a misunderstood monster. Sure you get some of the the "last season" from the full line stores, usually marked down pretty well but with out the selection. One thing to note though, they also have their own buyers. There is plenty of merch in this store that was never on a shelf anywhere else and never purchased and returned or something. It is super basic in decor, the focus here is definitely selling merch, not really impressing the masses with marble and designer furniture. Good prices means the merch turns over quick, so pile it high and make it accessible. Sure the store doesn't have any bells or whistles, but if you are willing to look, the merch is there. The customer service is true Nordstrom! Never too busy to help and always done with a smile. I love that even though this is not a full line store, you still get the same quality of service. Job well done. I especially liked my most recent purchase of a Robert Talbot shirt, Calvin Klein shoes, and an English Laundry neck tie...all for less than half what the shoes originally cost. I was with the other nordstrom freaks :D It's not huge but this outlet is a well oiled machine, hundreds of people and long lines, but it was so organized i only waited 2 minutes! it's mostly for women, but there is a small kids section, and men section. The prices are definitely outlet prices. The staff was so friendly, this mama was home ;) so duh! I recommend this store! read more

There are bargains waiting to be found here! Today's visit started off as a two star visit. When I shop, Im on a mission. I get in, I get out. Today I made a direct line to the little girls section. I made my way to my daughters size and was immediately disappointed. I knew I was trippin... looking for blacks or grays out of season. But this is why I came here! I was about to give up when I decided to scan the clearance rack one last time. And then I found it! A beautiful tiered ruffled gray dress. Full of sparkly goodness, I knew my princess would be too cute. I looked a little more and found another cute dress, this one in pink. I made my way to the shoes and found a pair to go with each dress and I'm all set! I bought two dresses and two pair of shoes for $36. This makes daddy happy. So why three stars? I was looking for more than just two clearance dresses. Ive found EXCELLENT deals here. Today's deals were great, but frankly, if I wanted no name clothing I would have gone to Gordman's down the way. But I wasn't trying to expect the unexpected! I was looking for Burberry, Guess, or even Juicy Couture for my little fashionista. I have found all of the above before and also Benetton, Paul Frank, and Gucci. None of these were on the racks I scoured today. And trust me, I have a lighting fast and frighteningly thorough approach. Daddy has also grabbed Pumas, Ben Sherman, AG Jeans, Penguin, and many other great brands. Like the "real" Nordstrom, the staff has nifty iPhones that can ring you up wherever. While this process appears to be convenient, I watched three other customers get rang out at the traditional check out in the time it took me to complete my four item order. This technology is pretty nifty, but why isn't it faster? At the risk of sounding like a complete label whore, I will promise to be back for other hidden designer brand treasures. My daughter is due for pictures soon and it is tradition that she take pictures in a Burberry dress. Hopefully I will find another deal worth photographing here. read more

Nordstrom Rack is everything you would expect to find from a top notch retailer like Nordstrom at a somewhat discounted rate. The problem, however, is that it's not quite discounted enough. Don't go here expecting to find TJ MAXX or Marshalls' prices - Nordstrom Rack still has a high end price point albeit discounted from the original amount. If you have to have that Hugo Boss shirt, you can find it for 75 bucks instead of 110. If Cole Haan is your game, they have plenty of $109 dollar kicks discounted from 180 - 200. Their selection is vast, especially the womens' section. Though smaller, the mens' section is equally impressive with some great looking styles and varieties of shirts, pants, and other necessary clothing options. Finally, don't expect the same level of customer service at NR vs. Nordstrom proper, only a stone's throw across the street at Oak Park Mall. Employees here, although smiling and friendly, aren't going to go out of their way to help you find the right purchase for you. Nordstrom Rack takes an "every person for themselves" approach for sales associates. Dig through the racks on your own, find your own shoes, check for the right size. Lines are often a little long and the front registers are often understaffed. Don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit to be run up. read more

Very Disappointed in Nordstrom today, my son purchased some sneakers as a gift, they were the wrong size, we wanted to just exchange them for the right size, since we did not have the receipt and he was not physically here they would not take the credit card from him over the phone. OK, I'll bump you up to 3 stars. Why? Because FINALLY I had a trip here where I found a ton of stufff that I wanted to buy. Ben Sherman sweaters? check. Penguin polo shirts? check. Joes jeans? check. Superdry sweatshirts, hoodies and t-shirts? check.check. check. Actually, that last one is what impressed me the most. This was the first time I'd even seen Superdry in an American store. I've bought it in Europe, and I'm sure it's in BIG cities here in America, but in recent trips through SF and Chicago, I didn't see it. And here I find it in Overland Park, KS in a discount shop. I still think that this place feels much more like a Gordman's than a Nordstrom, but if there are treasures like this to be found, I'm down with the occasional hunt. read more

Ever put a place on such a high pedestal there is no way the reality can live up to your fantasy? Nordstrom Rack never had a chance. Kelsey C has is it completely correct - overwhelming and pushy at first. Jennifer J also is spot on - watered down brands. That said, next time I need a go-to pair of designer heels, I'm heading straight to NR. Next time I want to suprise my hubby with a Ben Sherman tie, I'm heading straight to NR. I think over time the selection will improve as they find their niche here in Kansas City. I think the crowds will also thin out as the novelty wears off and the holiday season winds down. I knew what I was getting into when I decided to stop in here. I was expecting a TJ Maxx/Marshall's experience and it's pretty close to it. Except the merchandise is actually pretty outstanding. I didn't really go in with a set shopping list or anything in mind, but I ended up buying 2 awesome shirts for work and some great jewelry. All marked down to prices WAY below what you'd pay at the regular Nordstroms. I almost got some boots that retailed for over $300 that were marked down to $85. Now I have big regret over that decision. The merchandise was displayed and organized a lot better than I was expecting. The shoe section was really the only place I felt like I had to search and dig to find something I liked. If I have a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket, I usually make a trip here to see if anything jumps off the rack and into my arms. Otherwise, it's not really the place I'd go if I were looking for something specific. Still...decent brands for awesome prices. It's hard to pass up. read more

Oh man, this place is a hot mess. I love Nordstrom, and knew what to expect at Nordstrom Rack, but this was beyond what I expected. And not in a good way. First off, it's ridiculously, unbelievably cramped. Not the worst I have seen, but pretty bad. You'll inevitably knock someone off of a rack somewhere. The only thing that would surprise me, when that happens, would be if the staff did NOT yell at you. Seriously, the staff here seems like they are one "wrong look" away from going postal. I interacted with a couple of them and felt sad for them. How can life be that bad? The selection is huge, but not good. The quality of many products is even lower than I expected. There was a dress shirt that looked decent from afar, but when I got close realized that the night shift manager at Wendy's would wear it on his casual day. Not only that, but some stuff is barely cheaper than you can find, on sale, on Nordstrom.com (real Nordstrom, not Rack). For example, there were some decent jeans here for $95. I skipped it and went online to Nordstrom.com and found better jeans for $99, with free shipping. I'll spend that extra $4.... All in all, I suppose you could find some deals here. I just don't ever want to step foot back inside to find out. (EDIT: How odd that Yelp automatically changes my Nordstrom(dot)com to the actual website URL. Overwhelming at first, it takes a while to develop a "plan of attack". They have good prices on designer things, so I would come here if I needed a dress or pair of shoes for a special occasion, or if I had some extra money to burn and wanted a good deal on a designer purse. Everything is pretty well laid out, but people can get pushy (it is designer clothes, after all). You can take a ton of clothes into the dressing room at once, I think it's like 12 items, so that was great. Overall, a good experience. The only thing I didn't like was that they were pushy about getting me to sign up for a Nordstrom credit or debit card. read more

Unlike some, I know this is an outlet center, so I change my expectations from when shopping at a flagship store. Yes, it's still a Nordstorm, but it's just not the same, and I'm okay with that. I was actually surprised at the selection in Men's clothing when I visited the first time. There was way more than I expected, and all of it nice stuff of course. I don't usually mind if something is a bit dated to be on the regular racks, since I'm not so trendy to begin with. I'm happy to save the extra bucks and still look decent in last season's closed, so sue me. Being a tall guy, the fact that several of their jeans come in longer sizes is a huge plus, as well as several of their dress slacks that come unhemmed. You don't often see this in the outlet stores, so that is the biggest seller for me. I think the best buys of the store are often found in the shoe aisles though, tons of styles and selections, and always at a great price. I always find a couple pair I want, talk myself out of it, then come back two days later to at least buy one of them. Another nice plus is the kids section. Sometimes you get tired of always outfitting The Boy in Old Navy and Carters, and it's nice to be able to pick up a designer brand at the lesser cost. In short, it's a great place to find a deal, and a fine shopping experience. read more

WARNING: This review is JUST regarding the men's section. Although the men's clothing section is small compared to the ladies and kids sections, the prices and variety are still excellent. However, for me the best thing about this store is the men's shoes. I can't express how dangerously low priced the men's selections are. And the variety of selection is constantly changing. The most difficult part of shopping here for me is deciding on just one (usually two) pair of shoes. From top of the line designer formal to cool and funky casual - they are all at prices that make them affordable. If you enjoy the 1/2 yearly Nordstrom Men's sale you will love the fact that it is year round at Nordstrom Rack. read more

I'm a Nordy as well and am a loyal shopper at the mothership Nordstrom stores and was completely JAZZED to have a Rack open in KC. After being a number of other Racks around the US I was hoping for a similar experience.. (high end deals at reduced prices) however, as someone else noted.. the KC Rack doesn't measure up to bigger city Racks.. True I've found Vince, Bailey 44 and a few other high end brands but I'm not finding high end purses or shoes. (sad for me). The customer service is SUPERIOR just like Nordstroms which is FIVE stars but the merchandise only gets TWO stars from me. Many racks of cheaply made clothes (think Brass Plum junior's section at the Mothership stores).. It's a good place to get designer jeans Joes, Seven for all mankind and Diesel.. Not many clothes from TBD or Saavy.. Best reccomendation.. stop at the Rack first then head to Nordies right across the street.. read more

Nordstrom Rack is an awesome alternative to the sky-high prices at the regular Nordstrom. The Rack has representation from almost every department at the regular store... so why not save by going here instead? Bought an adorable sweater dress for under $40 and boots to match. Love this place. The only negative I will say is that going on weekends is dreadful... it gets insanely crowded. Your best bet is to hit it up after work on a week night. read more

I am a conflicted woman, in that I LOVE designer jeans (and other luxury items), but I'm thrifty and don't like paying too much for my luxe. Thankfully, for people like me, Nordstrom Rack exists. The good thing about Nordstrom Rack is that it carries my preferred brands of jeans (and some new ones that I've found), but at a reduced price, so I feel like I'm getting a real bargain when I only drop $100 a pair instead of twice that. I have also found some shirts that I like, and will one day make it over to the shoe section. The bad thing(s) about the Rack is that it's always packed (the lines for the fitting rooms have been ridiculously long every time I've been here), I have to occasionally dig to find anything even worth trying on, and the last time I bought something they emailed me my receipt (cool), but have now begun sending me other emails too (not cool). My husband hasn't been as lucky as I have here, in that he doesn't seem to find clothes he particularly likes; but he did score a new pair of work shoes (in a wide size, which tend to be notoriously difficult to find) on one visit, so he's happy enough to browse around while I'm trying things on. All in all, if I feel like treasure hunting or need some new jeans, this is probably the first place I will head...but I will be sure that I have plenty of time on my hands and am in the shopping mood! read more

Don't let the pretty pictures fool you. It may seem pretty and organized but it's a hot mess. They have crammed so much merchandise on these shelves that it was very hard to shop. Most of the areas are a mess simply because there are no associates there. When you do find one, they are incredibly helpful. I found a few good buys but was disappointed by the lack of certain brands. Most seemed to be Nordstrom Rack brand. Also the makeup area? Disgusting. All the products have been used and are missing caps and their box. It's a shame too because I saw a nice eyeliner but it was already half gone. read more

I hate to tell anyone my secrets, but let's face it, many people already know. When I walk in I bee line to the shoes, and will normally always find something, even if it's the something i wasn't looking for.
