This Dillard's has a nice selection of items compared to other stores in the area, but the shopping experience was not good for me. As soon as I walked in the door, two associates by the perfume area, looked my way but did not greet me. Then when I started browsing all of a sudden a security guard started lurking. I bought my items and left. If I wasn't last minute shopping for Father's Day, I would not have bought anything from there. I really enjoy shopping at this store but the hours have remained covid hours... opening at 11am. Let's get to work! Prior to covid they probably opened at 9 or 10 and stayed open till 9 pm. The store is well kept and looks like a Dillard's should. Sales people are friendly. But the dress department is a joke nowadays. Dillard's used to be the go-to place for dresses for dances, weddings, galas, etc. Now there aren't many dresses in the juniors department at all and they are either skin-tight and outrageously long or skin-tight and hardly cover passed anyone's bottom. The women's dresses are mostly for tall older women, like "mother-of-the bride" dresses and there are only a handful of those. If you're not a skinny 16yr old or 55yr old mother-in-law to be? Good Luck finding anything flattering or age-appropriate. The website has a slew of dresses but that's extremely inconvenient when you need to try them on! And the website prices apparently frequently differ from the in-store prices with a policy of "we don't price match with the website". Bring. Back. The. Good. Dresses. read more

I am visiting from Las Vegas and looked at my jeans in a full length mirror and just hated them. So I decided to go shopping locally. Dillards seems to be a staple in the south, so without Nordstroms as an option nearby, I gave it a shot. Great selection. Not the scummy feeling I get at every Macys at all. They had middle of the road designer clothes similar to Nordstroms but not really the super high end stuff. I got some Eileen Fisher and Tommy Bahama as well as Lucky and then some other brand of jeans I had never heard of but love. Basic bit-- clothes and that's what I was looking for. They also had some cute individual pieces that if I had a bigger suitcase...those were way less basic but I had to back away. The staff was really helpful, pointing me to some recent markdowns. So suddenly my impulse shopping trip turned into a bargain trip. Leeann was the woman who helped me and she was very attentive and helpful. Clean and organized - the store felt like it might be relatively new. Ended up rolling out with two new jeans and two shirts. All good. read more

Needed a dress for the weekend and went straight to Dillard's today bc I I knew I'd find one I love. I always have in the past. I found a dress on Dillard's.com that I wanted and then went to the store and voila! There it was. Thrilling! Went to check out and the dress rang up at a higher price, so I naturally asked the saleswoman why the price wasn't as indicated on the website. You'd think I had just slung an insult at her. The attitude and condescension was unreal. She got more rude the longer she went not able to explain the why. I even got blamed for not using Dillard's.com correctly at one point. I had to prove it to her by showing her my phone! Then, after finally asking a manager, they both decided that Dillard's.com was selling a damaged dress at the lower price. Huh? Lol. Whatever. Worse? I had my little elderly momma with me. I told my mom I was sorry that happened and she said, "oh well that's just Dillard's. If you ask about price they look down at you." What?? Sad. This is Dillard's. Not Bergdorfs. Slidell has too much leveling up to do to have angry employees with a chip on their shoulder making it hard to compete. I suggest a little quality control in the employee department. (Hint: upscale stores don't have to have rude employees. That's just in the movies). Whoa Na! This is a brand new Dillard's and it is impressive. Since I am a dude, I will write from a dude's perspective, but I will also attempt to get in touch with my feminine side and explain why the ladies will like this place as well. But first, let me tell you about the store in general.... Since the store is brand new, everything is clean and functional. Dressing rooms have full length doors, mirrors, hooks to hang clothes, and even a chair to rest while trying on clothes. The store gives off a high end vibe and I liked it. Now for the different perspectives...... Dudes Are you a dude who knows that plaid is in? Do you like to shop for clothes that stylish and actually fit your giant frame? If so, Dillard's may be right for you. In addition to the large sections of clothes meant to fit rail thin hipsters, midgets and little boys, this store also has a large variety of clothing designed for normal, giant and manly sized dudes. This section is not just colored burlap sacks, elastic waistbanded clothing and ugly ass items, it's all the most modern designers and styles available to tiny men as well. One thing that Dillard's isn't is cheap. I guess you've got to pay the price to get stylish clothes, but a sale every now and again would be nice. I found a fly ass shirt that would've made me the envy of all the middle aged dads, but the $225 price tag turned me off. I did score a nice burgundy plaid shirt that wasn't cheap, but damn sure wasn't $225. If you see me in it you'll be shocked at just how stylish I look. Since I am a dude who is quite comfortable with my manliness, I will now get in touch with my feminine side and explain why I think ladies will like this store. Dudettes Oh. My. God. Better than any sale that I could find at Kohl's which is right across the parking lot, not to mention that the sales people at Kohl's pretty much ignored me. The store is beautiful!! However, my encounter with the store manager was horrendous!!! I was looking for where the bathroom was when a blonde haired woman stormed past me. I asked her (unaware if she even worked there) if she happened to know where the bathroom was as she was stomping down the aisle and she stopped dead in her tracks to tell me "ma'am if you would just keep walking you would find the bathroom" then proceeded to strut off as if she owned the place. I was so dumbfounded and appalled at the interaction between this person and I that I didn't even realize that I blindly followed her advice and found the customer service desk which is next to the bathrooms. I asked the young girl at the customer service desk if I could speak with the store manager. She kindly and politely told me that she had just left for lunch. And she would be back in a hour. I then told her thanks and went to the bathroom. As I was using the facilities I then started to connect the dots. The way this woman walked, the tones in her voice, she was storming off (maybe going to lunch), etc. this couldn't possibly be the store manager right??? I finished and then turned to the customer service desk one last time. I asked the young girl what her store manager looked like. She responded "young, blonde, fit, about your height but she wears heels." My god. It was the store manager!!! I could not believe this! I asked the young girl for her name. And she told me it is Carol Rector. I have shopped with Dillards for over 15 years. I first started at the north shore square mall while also spending money with lakeside shopping center. I have NEVER had such a negative and unpleasant encounter with a associate much less the person that is the face of these stores. Matter of fact I have been helped by the last store manager of the fremaux town center as if he was just an associate!! When he finished with me I asked him if I could write a review for his managers to see and he giggled a nervous but silly giggle replying "well ma'am I am the #1 here. I'm the store manager" all I could think to myself was "Wow! This man took the time out of his busy day to help me! (And we shopped for about 90 minutes) I can't remember his name but I think it was Quinton. Outstanding human, outstanding manager, a real role model for his employees to follow. Now I am sitting here thinking to myself "How could a billion dollar corporation go from A+ service store manager to a rude, and in my words "trashy" (her blue dress was so short and sheer I could pretty much see her ass) "store manager". Dillards has gone down. Way down. I then got to my car. And cancelled my Wells Fargo AMERICAN EXPRESS VIP CREDIT CARD. I will never shop at the fremaux town center Dillards again. I feel sorry for the employees that have to work there with that demon. (Harsh I know, but if you would have heard the way she spoke to me you would have came to the same conclusion.) She needs to be fired and replaced with a store manager that speaks to people with respect, and sets a good example for the employees under them. Never again. My experience was the women's undergarment dept. I have never been to find just the right bra. When I was doing my preparations to get married, I knew I needed a very well made bra for this special day that was going to be a several hour event. The lady's in this department were so down to earth and really knowledgeable. I think we've all got sized wrong at Victoria's Secret before. The bra she recommended is the only style and brand I buy now because it is such good quality. read more

The sales clerk in the women's department treated me like a long-lost friend while I was selecting several pairs of jeans and tops to try on; she was extremely helpful and friendly. I was impressed. When I came out of the dressing room, I thought the polite thing to do was to tell her that none of the clothes worked for me (rather than just leaving). Wow, what a change! Total deep freeze, stone face, a curt "o.k." from her, and then she actually made some kind of snorting sound as I walked off. I don't think I'll be back to shop at this store.
