Dr. Kekobad has been my primary care physician since I moved to CA in 2007. She has been wonderful since day 1! Patiently listens and addresses all my concerns in every visit. Works with me to arrive at treatment options I am comfortable with and also suggests various home remedy options. I really like that! She is my husband's primary care physician too! read more

I am completely appalled by the way I was spoken to and treated by Dr. Kekobad as a New Patient. Her bedside manner was unacceptable, disrespectful, and shaming. As a Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology at Stanford University, I understand very well that there is a balance between being kind, compassionate, and engaging in a partnership with patients and being forthcoming, truthful, and using your expertise/resources to address a patient's health concerns. She completely neglected the kind and compassionate piece, which is an integral part of being a medical provider and empowering patients to take ownership over their health. The visit left me feeling way worse than when I walked in as opposed to feeling like I had a good plan in place for addressing problems with my health. If you do not want to feel shamed and blamed for things going on with your health, I would strongly suggest avoiding Dr. Kekobad. read more

Doctor was nice and easy to talk to. They asked the right questions and gave helpful feedback without talking over my head. Office was pretty calm and everything felt under control. I liked that they didn't rush and actually seemed to care how I was doing. read more

I'm so surprised that Corinne's husband had such a good experience, because I've had a MUCH different one. Dr. Kekobad seemed to dislike me from the start. I mentioned she looked young and said something to the effect of, "You look my age. Wow. I guess if I had gone to medical school, maybe I could be a doctor, too." I in no way meant it in a mean or demeaning way, but this seemed to be the start of the issues. I expect my doctor to: 1. Take the time to listen to me. 2. Communicate openly as she's examining me about what she is doing, why she is doing it, and what she finds as a result, even if it is nothing. 3. Listen to my concerns and consider them with validity, even though they may be ridiculous. 4. Explain to me my treatment options. 5. Recommend a specialist if necessary and without hesitation. 6. Treat me with respect and as though I am an intelligent person. 7. Explain to me anything I don't understand 8. Not be too rushed or stressed out to take care in examining me. 9. Have experience (not lots, but enough to give me confidence) 10. Care about me as a person. Or at least, pretend. Negatives: First, I consistently feel as though she does not like me as a person and it shows, thus removing #3,6,10. Second, as of my first appointment with her in August 2007, she had not yet passed her board exams, removing #9. Third, I was told she was the ONLY available doctor who could see me at El Camino Medical Group. She very rarely has openings on the day you call, rushes me in and rushes me out, thus removing #1, 8. Positives: If you bring it up, she will recommend a specialist, so she gets a B for #5 She communicates fairly well, but again, only if you ask, so a B for #2, 4 I was okay with her in general, because she is not unlike many doctors I've had, until I had this recent experience: Unlike most doctor's offices, Dr. Kekobad seems to actually be waiting for me, instead of vice versa. I had only been to 2 appointments with her before and I'd been late one time. I'd gotten lost on my way to her office, which, by the way ,can be hard to find and require several U-turns if you don't know where it is. The third time, my appointment was a 2, and I got there at 2:05, checked in and got to the office. I then asked if I had time to go to the bathroom. They told me I did, so I went and came back. As soon as I got back they called me into the examination room. Having had bad and rushed doctors in the past, I'd prepared a list of things I wanted to check with her about. I tend to be wordy, but sometimes I need to tell it all to be sure I've included all the information. It's important to me that my doctor understands that I'm like that and learns to listen to me. On this occaision, I was explaining to her about a problem I was having. I tried to gauge the amount of detail and background info she needed (I've only been seeing her for a few months), so I asked, "Would you like me to go into more detail about that?" I also asked because she was giving me body language like she was annoyed with me. I wanted to make sure I was telling her the information she needed. Instead of redirecting me or asking me a question, she said in a patronizing voice, "Hannah, you are late again for your appointment and I have other patients waiting. I don't have time to listen to this. Just get to the point." Let me be clear that she said this harshly, like she was SCOLDING me! As embarrassed as I am to admit this, I started to tear up. She actually MADE ME CRY. I immediately stopped talking, confused as to why the doctor would have scolded me! So I didn't know exactly the words I needed to say to describe my problem and I'd been 5 minutes late! She is supposed to be helpful, not MEAN! So I sat through the entire rest of my appointment, fighting back tears, my eyes and face bright red. Then when it was over she said, "When you call and make an appointment, they tell you to be 15 minutes early for your appointment. Next time, be here by then. You'll have to schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss your other questions." You may think that by her stating this she was trying to be nice or to make amends for her earlier remark, but let me be clear that this was also said in a patronizing voice, as though she were talking to a child! I was so insulted. By the way, I have never been told by anyone at El Camino that I should be there 15 minutes early for my appointment. My husband also sees Dr. Kekobad and has never been told to come early either. I will not be scheduling an appointment with Dr. Kekobad again, nor will I go to the Camino Medical Group again if I can help it. This was a terrible experience. read more

I have been seeing Dr Kekobad since 2008 and I could not be more pleased! She is attentive and helpful. She always explains things to me and helps me make my own medical decisions rather that just telling me what to do. I'm thrilled with how responsive she is online as well, usually answering my concerns within a day. She has referred me to specialists when needed. I have referred other people to her, including my partner because she is so great. I plan to continue to see her for my healthcare needs. read more

I've been to Dr. Kekobad a couple of times. I like to schedule morning appointments if possible so I know I'm the first in line. I've never had to wait for the doctor, nor has she ever been short or curt with me. We talked about my health and she gave me some pointers on things I should consider if I were to decide to try and have children. Since we recently moved to San Jose, I was thinking about switching PCP's because the Mountain View hospital is a bit away, however I think it's more hassle than it's worth. I'll check with her and see thinks in case one day we have a baby! read more

About six weeks ago, I saw Dr. Kekobad for an injury. She ordered X-rays and missed the real problem(broken tendon). When the pain continued and I called her again, I was told that a referral has been put through for a Hand Surgeon by her assistant. The Hand surgeon on just asking me to move my fingers and seeing I cannot, said upfront that I had broken a tendon which was later confirmed by the mri. Because so much time has lapsed since my injury, now I have to go through multiple surgeries to fix it which could have been fixed by one surgery. I wish Dr Kekobad was more capable and could have identified problem and avoided my pain and trauma for six weeks and the addition cost and more trauma should I do surgeries. Just received bill from my insurance after my annual preventative visit with Dr. Kekobad. She billed me for office visit for discussing for one minute about my acne. Beware of her. She inquires if there is anything we would like to discuss and uses the discussion to bill as an office visit...Never discuss anything during annual preventative visit or best avoid her. read more

I couldn't agree with Russ L. more. I've been seeing Dr. Kekobad since 2006, and have been extremely happy with her. She has been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and willing to listen to what I think is relevant. She has always gone out of her way to fit me in if I have an urgent need. I've never had to wait more than 24 hours for an appointment for something that needed immediate attention. The only time she ever did anything resembling scolding me was to tell me that maybe I needed to be more careful after seeing her for broken ribs twice in less than a year. Great Doc. read more

Dr. Kekobad saved my life. Let me say this again. Dr. Kekobad saved my life. During my first full physical after switching to her, she insisted on a digital rectal exam, which is not even recommended for a man my age (then, 45). She found a small abnormality on my prostate and instantly recommended me to a specialist (urologist). A biopsy was done and stage 3 cancer was discovered. The urologist was shocked by disease given my age, but told me that for a fairly new family doc to detect this kind of problem was extrordinary. My future at the time looked pretty bleak and ultimately, I elected to have treatment at UCSF, but after my multi-mode treatment plan, things are looking very positive. But without Dr. Kekobad's very accute medical instincts, the time bomb inside me could have easily gone undetected until it was far too late. By the way, she is easy to talk to, respectful, and willing to take the necessary time to explain her medical rationale. I am very lucky to have her on my medical team. read more
