I got the bill and discovered that I was also charged a $20 copay. I asked for a recommendation for a dermatologist and was given the name of a surly unhelpful dermatologist I had been to once 10 years ago. There was nothing about this experience that was positive.

I love hearing her explain her thinking and the relationships between conditions, allergies, lifestyle, etc. I think the reason she's not for everyone is in how you look at medical care. If you want someone to simply treat one ailment and leave it at that or blindly send you for tests you think you need then I suggest you go to an urgent care clinic. Dr Glass is holistic in her approach and she treats the whole patient, always searching for root causes, preventative care and ways to make you feel better, overall. She has referred me to specialists but also told me if they were out of network or I found someone I preferred that was fine too. I don't believe she did it for the referral bonus at all, in fact, many times she has suggested I try natural and over the counter treatments before going to a specialist.

Dr. Rabbin simply said some people have this and there is nothing we can do about it. After seeing the new dermatologist in Denver months later she appropriately diagnosed it and they were gone in TWO days! I'm psyched. The moment I opened the door I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. When I walked back to the room I was immediately instructed by the physician assistant to get undressed and put on a gown which was very odd to me. Usually when it's your first appointment establishing primary care you aren't asked to get undressed so I was a bit caught off guard and decided to wait to undressed until after talking with the doctor and going over what we would be doing at todays appointment that required me to get undressed. When Dr. Lyon came in (before introducing herself) she asked me in the rudest voice "why aren't you undressed?" And I said "I had a few questions before getting undressed" and she said "you could have still gotten undressed!" - I was so taken back as to why it was such an issue that I didn't get undressed immediately. She proceeded to ask me questions then abruptly interrupted me and said "you're not wearing a mask, let me get you one", she returned with a mask and I told her I didn't want to wear it (mind you the assistants in the office weren't wearing one, just her) and she told me "I had to wear it" I then responded with telling her I haven't had to wear a mask at a drs office in over a year, she proceeded to tell me to put it on. Given this woman's attitude I knew I couldn't trust her, so I told her we could end the appointment and I will go elsewhere. She immediately followed up with "okay! But you still owe me $50 for the appointment." When I was checking out I overheard the physician assistant say to the doctor "Dr. Lyon you were supposed to be better this year." So clearly this isn't the first time someone has left their appointments 10 minutes in. I'm honestly shocked by the amount of good reviews I see on Google. Unfortunately I didn't see this doctor embody either of these. She came in like a storm and just went through my chart on the computer, not really having the patience or compassion that I was seeking. I don't think I finished a sentence the entire visit. The women's center was a great concept 5-6 years ago, when it first opened, unfortunately the entire place now looks super dated and run down in such a short period, all of the 4 elevators didn't work for most of the morning and they're located on the 12th floor, the receptionists ate their lunches at the check in desk and everyone just seems a bit miserable. I'd suggest trying any of the many other doctors available in this city. Also- I went to a ENT specialist a few weeks prior, also at Weil Cornell, and was sent 2 different emails asking about "my experience" I've strangely received none about this visit with Dr Rieger- I'm super curious on why that is. Best of luck to those looking for a pcp as I will be as well.
