What should have been beef tacos were actually chicken taquitos. They were ok. The tamales were fresh but lacked sufficient meat so I it felt like I was just eating breading thus, I didn't finish them. They also needed more seasoning. I have had better Mexican food elsewhere. In contrast, the plantains were excellent! Overall, the 3 stars is for the freshness not the flavor (with the plantains as the exception).

We finished the meal off with their flan which was absolutely delicious (and came with a birthday candle and was taken off the check as a very generous birthday present!). I highly recommend adding La Barrita to your rotation of special occasion spots.
