    Inch Strand

Dingle Dingle Peninsula My husband courageously navigated us from Cork to Dingle along quaint but challenging one lane backroads to Dingle Peninsula. As passenger princess I enjoyed the views but it is no joke for the driver as cars take turns moving through narrow curvy roads with blind spots galore. Our first stop was Inch Strand (beach) which has surprisingly warm water and was a beachcombers delight with various shells to inspect like razor/Atlantic Jackknife. Farther was Dingle which is a harbor city full of cute shops, some small and big Made in Ireland shops, lively eateries, famous Murphy's ice cream, and plenty of seating areas around and colorful picnic tables too. We took a walk around a park trail on the marina and could see kayakers, Eask Tower could be seen across the water, Hussey's Folly was visible across the water and can be walked to. We drove to Hussey's Folly where you can pass by sheep grazing, and a small beach area where people were sunbathing. Also took a drive to amazing Dunquin where you can take a zig zag staircase down to the water. Amazing views.

I love walking thru and visiting this cute and quaint Irish harbour town! There is so much to do here from great pubs where u can hear traditional Irish music and eat fish caught right in the harbour. There is plenty to do for the family - lots of fishing and boat trips, the Ocean World Aquarium, a number of art and craft shops plus can also check out Dingle Distillery. There is apparently a dolphin "Funghi" who has made the harbour his home and the boat trips guarantee you money back if you don't see him! Note: #252 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

Small village so easy to walk around and enjoy the sights and sounds. Lord Baker's pub had excellent food and service.

I can't believe I never reviewed this place. Well...let's change that!…read more Me and my husband traveled southern Ireland over the course of 10 days for our one-year anniversary. Even though this was 5 years ago, we still reminisce on our absolutely remarkable stay at Pax House. It is now the standard by which I judge all hotels/inns/bed and breakfasts that I visit on my travels. On this particular vacation, we stayed in B&Bs, a swanky hotel or two, and even a castle, yet Pax House was hands-down our favorite place. John knows hospitality and Pax House felt like staying at a friend's home. Breakfasts were delicious, the decor is fabulous, and the views of Dingle Bay are breathtaking. John was readily available to offer suggestions regarding the nearby scenic drives around the peninsula or which local pubs offered the best food. I remember one night there was an issue with our television. John came by to try to fix it, but it still wasn't doing what we wanted. Several minutes later there was a knock on our door. We opened it to find John holding two glasses of Bailey's and offering more apologies. These days, when we talk about going back to Europe we're always trying to figure out a way to work in a couple of nights at Pax House. We will be back one day. Until then, we will continue to think back fondly on our time here.

The breakfast at Pax House was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The scones and yogurt were so fresh and the entree was delicious. They use fresh produce and eggs from their homestead and you can tell the difference. The location was just a quick 15 minute walk into town and they provide you with bright safety vests as you're walking on a narrow road with no shoulder or sidewalk for about 5 minutes of the walk. John and company are so lovely and helpful. I think about this place all the time and how I can't wait to go back. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating and no detail was left out.

Once we made it to our guest room, our stay could not have been more pleasant. My family's room was spacious. The interior felt new and featured four twin beds. I also liked the high-tech tv adorning the wall; it offers Netflix and other streaming services. Despite Dingle being a town full of vibrant nightlife, I heard no noise emanating from the street below as I slept. In the morning, the inn offered plenty of great Irish Breakfast foods (and tea!) for no additional charge. The location couldn't be more ideal. It's steps away from some of Dingle's finest shops and restaurants. Walking around this area is fun; there is so much to take in beneath the sweeping Irish mountainscape. Plus, the town feels quite safe. My only word of caution: street parking in this area can be tight for larger vehicles. Dingle is an enchanting place, and the Bare Na Sraide Inn represents its city well. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through this part of Ireland.
