While we were there, we called and mailbox is not assign and we email Shaun also. I guess the first RED flag was it took him around a week to even get back to us for this appointment. Definitely not bring my kid here. I'll make sure this is posted everywhere online for other parents to see. Place was not very secure too, someone could have easily came into the premises and took all the toys away.

We've looked at about 14 centres at this point. In that pool, I would say there was 1 5 star, 3 4…read morestar, and the rest were 1-2. Needless to say, they all cost an arm and a leg. This is the 5 star. From the moment we walked in the door, we were hit with a sense of both home and calm. The environment was all about calm, neutral colors, child lead art, plants, animals, and natural materials like wood, branches, leaves, and pinecones. When we walked past the kitchen, it smelled like fresh baking (the children were cooking with one of the teachers). On the rug in the adjacent area, an instructor was leading a group of children in a yoga class. It was almost comically amazing. We were lead through to the main activity room and talked a bit about the philosophy of the centre, where we learned that they follow a 'emergent' curriculum, which is apparently about learning the children's interests and building the curriculum to suit. Naturally. Though I wasn't surprised, I was still very disappointed to learn there are more than 100 families ahead of us on the waitlist. Still, we may get in depending on the circumstances. Her classroom was always neat, organized, and filled with engaging educational materials, hands-on activities, and books that supported each child's development. There were many children Giuliano's age, and it was so comforting to see how happy and excited they were to be there each day. My son truly enjoyed going and developed a love for learning early on. Mrs. Athina took the time to guide him not only academically--with early arithmetic--but also with important life skills like sharing, independence, and responsibility. Through her support, Giuliano built confidence and strong foundational skills that I am still grateful for today. I am also so proud to see her daughter, Marisa Dritsas, continue this beautiful legacy. Her Montessori classroom is absolutely stunning--bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed with natural materials and child-sized learning spaces that encourage independence and exploration. The outdoor area is just as lovely, giving children space to play, learn, and connect with nature. Marisa is calm, patient, and genuinely caring. She goes above and beyond to support each child's individual needs and learning pace. The Montessori approach is truly reflected in her work--fostering independence, creativity, and confidence in every child. BMS did an excellent job with the gradual transition and were very supportive for her. They were accommodating and gave us good suggestions for how we could support her. She's fully transitioned now and thriving. Our son and eldest daughter attended the school over a span of 5 years (3 years for Emma, and 2.5 years for Joshua). Our family will be moving out of province this month, and we are heart broken Joshua will not be able to complete his final year at the school. Both of our children loved attending, and we knew that our children were always well looked after and cared for every single day they attended. To gover all they have learned would take a few pages, but one of the highlights was Emma's love of music, the piano in particular, and Joshua's love of math. Discovery Montessori really instilled the "love of learning" into our children and we can not say "thank you" enough. We will miss everyone at the school so much.

Dropping my little girl to school I often worried for her welfare in my absence. However, I made several attempts to communicate my concerns to the teacher and each time I was met with little more than a blank stare. I later learned that my daughter became upset at school one day, inconsolably so, and rather than call me to take the matter in hand, the awful teacher sent her to a corner to cry herself to sleep! I thought this quite abusive, particularly given that my child did not arrive at school in bad humour, nor lacking for sleep, so that was the end of it for me. What a terrible woman, and what an awful introduction to school for my sensitive, intelligent little girl. Changing to another school for the 2011/12 school year, she is flourishing, so parents need to know that the school one chooses must not only be carefully considered, but carefully monitored as well. Never allow a teacher to brush aside your concerns. Ask a lot of questions, and don't leave until you get the answers.Though billing itself as a parent participation preschool, the BFLP is not a member of the Council of Parent Participation Preschools in British Columbia, and it is little wonder indeed.

The teachers were great and seem very fair with all the kids, no favouritism at all. They are a play-based preschool but in the end my daughter learnt her alphabet and how to write her name. My daughter is currently in her second year here and I will definitely put my son here as well. I think aside from the teachers the playground just outside the school is perfect for toddlers. My only gripe is that special outings tend not to be scheduled during the same time as school time so you will have to reschedule your day during these days although they are few and they give ample notice.

After endless emails and meetings they could not provide me a solution. They don't even respond to your emails and every day you have to get in their face before you get a response. It has been a very exhausting experience and sadly my time is not being compensated.
