The staff here was super kind and super knowledgeable. I have always been a huge dinosaur nerd, so when I was visiting the area for my nursing school clinicals I had to stop in! The price is reasonable and the many displays were a treat! You could even purchase a geode for them to cut open then and there for you as well as some minor fossils and minerals in the gift shop! Rawr! Did I scare you? If so, beware of this dinosaur park in Ogden. While the dinos on display are not alive, they are life-like and some of the them move and make noise. Possibly a little too scary for some audiences-usually those that are shorter than a yardstick. The indoor area of the museum is very well done with lots of displays and exhibits that educate guests on the different pre-historic beings. There were far more than I could have named on my own with my basic "Land Before Time" dinosaur knowledge. Upstairs, you'll find rocks and gems, which is well done although maybe less interesting to some folks. However, take a peek at the dinner rocks-there's a whole display of rocks that are in the shape of food. I got a kick out of that. Outside, there's lots of wide open space with paths that wander throughout the trees. There are dinos dispersed throughout the property, and a few benches to sit on. Lots of the grounds were covered in weeds, which may have been what the dinosaurs preferred to eat. However, in modern day, it just looks unkempt. For a kiddo-or adult-that has a fascination with dinosaurs, this could be a fun place to spend an afternoon. For the rest of us, an hour or two is probably plenty. read more

Great activity for kids who like dinosaurs. The park is bigger and better than I remember as a child. When I was here last (30 years ago) it was small and there was no shade. The park is so much better now! I was really impressed. I stayed outside the entire time with covid still going on. There's a museum inside, but I didn't go through it. It can get hot in the sun, so wear sunscreen and a hat, if you go during hot times since the dinosaurs are outside. You can purchase a small book about dinosaurs you see thought the park for $1 at the information desk. There's also a few places for kids to play such as the dinosaur bone dig are and play areas with slides. The play area is more separated from the park but the way the they incorporated the dinosaurs into the play area so definitely worth a look. I will definitely be bringing my kids back when it gets cooler. One thing to know- if you bring a stroller, you will need to be asked to let out of the gate since they all visitors to exit through a small gate that doesn't have enough room for strollers. read more

My kids LOVE dinosaurs so we took a day trip to Ogden to go to this Dinosaur Park. One of my kids loves geodes so he loved how many they had to see. There were so many different beautiful rocks made out of different minerals. We were impressed with how many they had! We appreciated the indoor section had dinosaur bones and the outside section had real-looking dinosaurs. My younger kids especially enjoyed it. We appreciated how many different dinosaurs they had. There was also a really fun play area outside they enjoyed! We were excited to check out the gift shop but were highly disappointed with the lack of items for sale. We ended up not buying anything. Hopefully, in the future, they can get more items and more products that are interesting to young kids. We had a great time and will be back! read more

This is a fabulous place to take your kids. We've had a membership for years! My kids still love it. There is a great indoor museum where you can see the dinosaur bones. Upstairs they have a cool animatronic, they also have a great display of gems. Outside there is a ton more to do. There is a lot of walking trails, with dinosaurs on it. There are some activities like digging up dino bones and there is a playground made with dinosaurs. It's very unique. They have picnic areas you can reserve. There are multiple bathrooms and drinking fountains. There are some huge fish you can feed in the river that flows through the park. They also do random activities during the year. read more

This place is so fun! What a great thing for the community. It isn't HUGE, but it's big and a great way to spend a few hours with your kids. I read about this place on Roadside America and being a lifelong dinosaur fan, decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! This is a fantastic little museum and outdoor park and is a must see for fans of roadside attractions and especially dinosaurs. Note that it's easy to miss the entrance, as it's pretty quick after you turn off the main road (it's directly across the street from a little white shop). If you bypass the main drive, turning around isn't too easy so stay alert. The admission fee is reasonable ($7 for adults) and I think it's well worth it. Note that you can add on a few kid friendly activities, including digging for "gems" in a "mine" and panning for gold. I was super tempted by the counter where you can buy a real geode and they'll slice it open for you on the spot (for an additional cost). Even without purchasing these extras, there is a ton to see. I never felt as if I was being nickel and dimed here. The museum portion of the park is fantastic. It's not fancy and the display cases are simple and mis-matched, but the artifacts are top notch. There are fantastic displays of sparkling quartz, rocks and gems, and some truly cool trilobite fossils and more. Inexplicably, there are a couple of cases filled with junk like old quilts and muskets that'll make you scratch your head and say "huh?" Ditto for the bizarro giant clock crafted out of grenades and bullets! The museum has a great collection of dinosaur bones and skeletons on display, and they are beautifully curated with surprisingly thorough educational information and interactive touch screens. There's even a windowed area where you can watch volunteers working and cleaning new fossil finds. If you or your kids love dinos, do not miss the robotic dinosaurs on the upper level. It's a very small area but is pretty rad and features animatronics that are just as good as the ones at Disney World. After exploring the museum, make your way outside for the huge park! This part is so much fun as there are long, winding paths that meander all over the property. It's kind of easy to get lost, so take a map. Best of all? Along the paths are giant concrete dinosaurs! The paths aren't very shady so bring sunscreen and a good hat. The park has several nice picnic areas too, and a little pond where you can feed the fish and ducks (bring quarters for the food machines). There's a small snack bar and a gift shop with great dino themed gifts for cheap. Parking is easy in a paved lot out front. The one huge negative of this place is that is it not air conditioned, which means it can get really hot inside the museum on warm summer days. I visited on a 100 degree day and it was sweltering and very unpleasant. They do have fans strategically placed but it's h-o-t. I totally loved this place and spent two hours here! Then again, I have been dinosaur obsessed since I was four years old. Highly recommended. read more

Dinosaur Park holds a sentimental place in my heart, as it was a spot I visited a lot as a child with my family and my late grandmother. So this is always a spot sparks great memories, and a nice summer getaway from SLC. Though this place is always fun to walk around, it is definitely more fantasmagorical as a kid; there is always the slight air of fear of the lifeless statues outside, horror by the "blood" and dead dinosaurs being feasted upon by carnivores, and... I mean come on, Dinosaurs!!! This spot is a necessity for children to spark their curious natures and learning of ancient lizard-hipped and bird-hipped creatures. For Adults, you can gain something too, and for the cheap entry fee: $7 per adult, it's worth it. On top of all the reading materials one can read at each dino outdoor set up, there is also a small-scale exhibit and museum inside! Just be aware, especially at 11am on a Saturday... over Memorial Day weekend... y'all gonna be surrounded by children. Within the last 10-15 years, a lot of money has been put into the park -gem and robotics display inside, with a exhibit with fossils and dino bones...but it seems the outside has been neglected a little. The Dinosaurs definitely need to be repainted. But, it's still fun to dive into the world of Dinosaurs, and learn something new. Now for my animal-loving soap box speech: There is a sad... SAD area near the back East side of the park - where there is a turtle and the saddest iguana I've ever seen in a small building with viewing rooms. They are in separate rooms that have linoleum floor (the worst type of flooring for ANIMALS - give them sand or grass or something!) and a scattering of branches. Please for the love of god give these animals a better home. This current set up is inhumane, and is seriously unnecessary for this park. read more

This place is kinda neat, kinda quirky. When we went there were tons of families with little kids playing on the playground. I think this is one of those places that if you live in the area, you get a membership pass. There are lots of huge dinosaurs all through there gardens/trails. There are speakers that play animal noises, cries, growls, etc. The playgrounds are pretty good, kept my kids busy for a few hours. I would go through the museum first and check out the exhibits of dinosaurs and the gems and geodes. Then finish off the visit with a walk around the trails and play at the playgrounds. It's a bit pricey for a one-time visit but it is a good spot for kids to get some energy out. read more

Great way to spend a few hours with the kids. Very affordable- thank you! But please, buy new brushes for the outside sand pit where kids can uncover buried bones. They are mostly shreds of a brush. The Mystery Trail has seen better days. Broken dinosaurs, and garbage and debris inside a nest of eggs. Many dinos in the park need a paint job. I used to love the fun of walking the trail and hearing the stomps of a dino and thinking one was just around the corner. But, the speakers weren't working. Sad! I had not been here with my daughter in about 5 years. Just overall doesn't seem like money has been put back in the park in many years. read more

This is such a fun place to bring kids! They have so much to look at and so much to do. There is a digging pit for "bones" where they get to pretend like they are paleontologists. There is an entire floor upstairs of beautiful gems and rocks and crystals. I took my class on a field trip there and they loved the moving dinosaurs. There is a lot to learn and a lot of fun to be had. There is even a park outside that includes huge dinosaurs. Very fun place! read more

I would have given this place five stars, but my son wanted to do the gem dig and it put a damper on the whole experience. The deal was $7 for 10 minutes to "dig" for gems. The sign for the task was very misleading. If we would have known what we really would have gotten for $7 we would not have done it. My son dug for 10 minutes to get 6 rocks and an inked stamped burlap sack instead of picture inserted. Bottom line... buy the rocks at the gift shop for $4.50 and have an amazing time at the park. read more

Only a few can enter the gift shop at a time. Masks are required in door of course, but not necessary outside. I used to bring my kids here. They loved the park, especially my son. We visited often because my niece and her kids live in Ogden so they would meet us here. I don't remember the museum (maybe it's new the past few years), but we love fossils, rocks, and gems. They should be open later than 5:00 so families can come after work. It's nice that it's across from the rose garden if you want to visit that too. read more

As a man with a young family (four kids under 8), we thought this would be a good way to spend Labor Day. It is nice that it was open on the Holiday. Now, why the 3 stars? It is always fun to get out if the house with family. I was hoping that we could spend a few hours look at exhibits. But the museum has about an hour worth of exhibits and that's about it. It doesn't take very long to look at the exhibits, read the captions, and walk around the park. We dragged it out and got just under 2 hours of entertainment with the price of admission. The indoor exhibits were in good shape and you were able to see some cool fossils. They have an exhibit upstairs with 4 animatronic dinosaurs that do some really basic movement. Some of the exhibits outside were missing parts of the dinosaurs, like toes, nails and horns. The benches all looked like slivers waiting to happen. They had a play ground on the park, but it was run down and why go to a museum to play on a run down park? For some extra money, your kids can do a dig or pan for gold. Maybe it was worth the price of admission to learn a little about dinosaurs and see some fossils. I'd recommend taking kids with a passion for dinosaurs or who are a little older. read more

A cool exhibit/museum. I think it is overpriced, for what they give you. Unfortunately, I missed the Groupon and Living Social deals this place put out. This is one of those places that you do once in your life and say "Been there, done that" and then never return. It is small and the majority of their exhibits are credited to the large dinosaur figurines on the open area of the property. Heck, you could probably just view this dinosaurs by walking along the perimeter of the fence and save the $7 admission price for adults and $5 for kids. The worse part was that when we were viewing the dinosaur figurines on the outside at about 11am, that is when the employees started mowing the lawn...you don't get any more tacky and unprofessional than that! You better off mowing the lawn before you open to the general public...that is just plain common sense! I would recommend going to the Museum of Paleontology and the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum located in Provo at the Brigham Young University Campus, which both offer "FREE" admission! read more

The Dinosaur Park and Museum in Ogden is a lot of fun. Inside they have a pretty standard exhibit of replicated dinosaurs ready to attack you as if you were their prey. They also have a lot of fossils, gem stones, polished rocks, and other pretty stuff to look at and enjoy. Outside the real fun begins with life-like dinosaurs scattered throughout the large, spacious outdoor park. Bring a picnic and enjoy a sunny afternoon with the dinosaurs or just go for a walk and check out all the replicas. Although most are not to scale it was fun to see what many of the dinosaurs may have looked like and how big they would have been when these giants lizards (or birds?) walked the earth. Is the park a little cheesy, sure, but is it still worth a visit? Yes, in my humble opinion if you enjoy natural history and like dinosaurs, visit this place. read more
