What a great outing. We came on a Monday and there were barely any lines, highly recommend. The park is clean and the humber of options for rides is great. The food was good for it being amusement park food. Lots of employees around to help answer questions. Plenty of parking. Pro tip for out of towners, if you plan to ride the water rides, you will get wet, like a lot. Bring extra clothes. Also, there's a few lockers by the water rides but they get filled quickly, there's a ton when you first come into the park. There's a great magic show, really well done. Spent about 5 hours there and we still didn't get to see everything. The only reason I have it a 4 was because of price but it's comparable to other bigger theme parks. read more

This place is quite pricy at $110 a person for the day. They do offer a lot of diverse rides from little kid rides, to family friendly rides to the bigger coasters that my 9 year old won't venture on. They are quite lax here, and you can bring your own food and beverages in a cooler and tote it around. Also the standards as far as checking riders seems a little lax too compared to what I'm used to by visiting theme parks in CA. They also allow dogs into the park and they don't have to be service animals either. Overall it was a nice Sunday. Kids rides were short lines, while the big coasters had pretty long lines. We road a train past some animals but didn't see any entry way to check those animals out further by foot except the deer. I'm not an amusement park fanatic but Lagoon gives a nice nostalgic feeling that I love coming back to. It is great for an amusement in a smaller city such as SLC. If you compare it to Universal Studios or Disneyland, you may be underwhelmed as Lagoon is a smaller park than those. On the flip side, because it is a smaller park it is very walkable. They have a ski lift if you would like but I love that I can walk from one end of the park to the next. We went on a busy day where there was a discount on tickets. Despite the crowd, we barely had to wait in lines for rides. The longest line was maybe one hour at most which is great compared to bigger amusement parks. I love the additions they've added over the years such as a theater, more food options, Frightmares and so much more! Definitely a must go if you're new to SLC! read more

Great service and accommodation. Big shade trees in most of park, we stopped for 1 day , and hit the park. Someone said it was a far walk, that's ridiculous. Someone else said it was noisy, well I suppose if ur sleeping in a tent during the day yes u will hear the park noise. We loved it they have several awesome huge coasters and the park is clean lines were super short so we rode rides multiple times. The campground was very nice , we are a class A towing 75' long 13.6 tall and stayed in a pull through site 52. I Loved that the park allows family's to park in reverse for shared sites, and the grassy sites are really nice for kids and multi fam use . Very nice park def recommend. read more

This is a FOOD review. Lagoon has a surprising array of food options in nine areas of the park. Plenty for the kids, of course, but some surprisingly good adult food as well. Many places in the park serve soft drinks, pretzels, cotton candy, churros, Icees, & soft serve ice milk or sorbet. Franchise-brand stands include Arby's, Subway, Teriyaki Stix, Zeppe's Italian Ice, Dippin' Dots, & Fiiz. They're reduced-menu, similar-quality versions of those outside Lagoon, but you don't get and can't spend loyalty points. * Biergarten * My favorite restaurant at Lagoon- European decor, cool in the Summer, clean, & often a respite from crowds & noise. Burgers come on a brioche roll, with a 1/3-pound, Angus beef hamburger patty, romaine lettuce, red onions, hothouse tomato slices, & depending on which one- cheddar or swiss cheese, huckleberry or apricot chipotle BBQ sauce, with horseradish mayo for the pastrami burger, optionally bacon. The battered fries & large onion rings are both amazing. The chicken schnitzel is one of the more unique dishes at Lagoon. A pounded & breaded tender chicken breast cutlet, deep fried to juicy texture with crispy, golden crust with rich mushroom gravy, served with a mayo-vinegar-based German potato salad with diced onions with celery seeds, dill & caroway, garnished with paprika. The Traditional Bratwurst is covered in sauerkraut & comes with house-made, gourmet-quality mustard. It's served on a split roll of fluffy white bread. I recommend the tasty Navajo tacos- chili, cheese & lettuce & tomato on fried bread. * Carousel Plaza * Next to the antique carousel is a popular shady spot. I recommend the smothered burrito from the Carousel Plaza Cantina that offers a choice of ground beef, chicken, or pork, & also includes beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gayo, & comes with enchilada sauce. I also recommend the guacamole, yum! It's not spicy. The chicken sandwich offers a lightly-battered chicken breast fillet served with spicy ranch sauce, pepper jack cheese, pickle slices, lettuce, & tomato on a brioche roll. A bit spicy, the chicken is both crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. The pizza's crust is precooked & the sauce tastes like it comes from a can or jar, but the mozzarella & pepperoni are decent quality. The kids will love it! * Coca-Cola Plaza * Near the fountains at the entrance, it offers pizza, pretzels, churros & funnel cakes. Funnel cakes are larger & denser than some. I'd recommend them w/o powdered sugar & either the non-dairy whipped topping and/or strawberry topping. They are easily large enough for two people. * Midway * The main north/south walkway containing carnival games & food stands. There are shakes, cinnamon rolls, candied apples, & cotton candy. The Gourmet Burgers & Gourmet Chicken at the north part of the Midway is good but not gourmet. The Southwestern Burger offers a 1/3 pound patty, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, sliced dill pickles, Southwestern fry sauce, & bacon. It's served with onion rings, including one on the burger. Tasty & filling, but if I chose between them, I'd go for the burgers at Biergarten. At BeaverTails, pastries are deep fried & covered with toppings. These are not fried bread, but thinner & crispier. I found them a bit oily, like a funnel cake, but not unpleasant. They do make a mess, so be ready with something to clean your hands. * North Area * Near the old Opera House, has a Subway & an Arby's. * South End * The Teriyaki Stix offers grilled Teriyaki chicken & steamed vegetables The chicken is tender & juicy, the vegetables are lightly steamed & crunchy- zucchini, yellow squash, shredded carrots & broccoli. Terrible place. Rides don't open when they are supposed to. Not anywhere close to worth it. It's ran by a bunch of teenagers that aren't payed good at all. There is only 1 good roller coaster and the lines are ridiculously long. It's an absolute mess. We drove about 6 hours to visit Lagoon Amusement Park for our son's birthday, so we went in really excited. Unfortunately, several of the main rides we came for were closed the day we were there, which was a big disappointment considering the distance we traveled. Because of the closures, the lines for the remaining rides were extremely long. If you don't get there early, you will likely spend most of your day waiting in line rather than actually enjoying the park. The employees we interacted with were friendly, which we did appreciate. Food was just okay overall, although the funnel cakes were definitely the highlight. One issue we ran into was that some of the registers were not working, which caused long waits just to order food. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it was disappointing given the time and effort it took to get there. If we had known about the ride closures ahead of time, we would have found a different amusement park. For a special trip like a birthday, I would have expected a better overall experience. read more

(Majority of) Staff. Communication. Rides. Lines (lol). Have all gone down. Not sure what was going on It's not what it used to be. A bunch of rides were closed down and out of order. My son and nephew were on a fast roller coaster and the staff member didn't bother to check if my son was locked in good. THANK FRECKEN GOODNESS I was standing there watching and went to check it myself and had to buckle them in. It was the orange looking roller coaster. Next to the sky life entrance on the north end of the park. Then I told the girl to "get off your phone and pay attention, peoples lives are in your hands." She put her phone away and went to check riders again. SMH!! Do kids now days really need to be told to stay off their phones while working?? Ugh! At the pool entrance...terrible communication at the entrance. Why allow people to walk into the pool area without a shirt or shoes on, but then lock them inside the pool area because they don't have their shirt and shoes on at the EXIT?? People shouldn't be allowed to enter the pool area once workers CAN CLEARLY SEE people don't have shoes on their feet or a shirt on. Turn them away so they don't have to deal with the hassle upon exiting the pool area, WITHOUT THEIR SHIRT AND SHOES ON!! They have policies posted up about hygiene and safety, and what not, BUT their lazy river is over crowded, the water is, what felt like, ankle deep to where my nieces and nephews were scrapping their feet and knees trying to get on tubes and just walking. The pool side floor is mixed with some sort of gravel and sand. Very irritating on the feet for those who have sensitive feet and don't swim with water shoes. Safe? Hygienic? Nah! You'll be better off walking without a shirt and your shoes. It just mind boggles me that they would build brand new rides instead of fixing the current ones and or even expanding the pool area. So much space and such a small pool area, with the lazy river lacking water to be "lazy" in on top of the over crowded people tube to tube/skin to skin, even. If there were a 0 star option, I'd probably mark 0 stars. I'm leaving it at 1 star because of the rattle snake rapids ride. That's more of a lazy river ride than the actual lazy river. Not only that, the staff at rattle snake rapids were super cool!! 6/14/2025 between 6-8pm. Whoever was working that ride during that time should be promoted. They were the coolest kids (staff) out of the WHOLE lagoon staff we came across that entire day!!! We have loved coming to lagoon every other year. This year, ruined it for us. Okay y'all... this was my first time ever coming here and I was impressed! My cousin was visiting me from out of town and I told her how this theme park was only 4.5 hours away from me and it looked pretty good online. We normally have a tradition of going to Disneyland in October and while we would have liked to have kept that tradition up... money was tighter this year so we decided to switch it up and check out Lagoon. Now, I will say, Lagoon is no Disney Parks or Universal Studios.. it's more of a watered down version of those bigger theme parks but we still had a blast!! We started with Cannibal which ended up being one of our favorite rides there....it was terrifying but so fun! Primoridal was also really awesome! All the roller coasters were great. We didn't check out any of the haunted houses but we did pay extra to do the seance show and that was super wild... scarier than the roller coasters ! It shocked us how great the special effects and acting was!!! We also got to watch the Nightmare Cabaret show which was also incredible !!! Lots of talented performers in their shows!! Food was also decent and reasonably priced throughout the park as were the souvenirs. I will definitely go again at some point and look forward to it ! read more

For people who've been to high-end amusement parks going to Lagoon makes you realize just how unsafe a lot of their rides are. When we went three of their main attractions weren't even open so it totally wasn't worth the price. Many of their carnival games are a total rip off some you can win and trade it for bigger prizes but they never tell you ahead of time so if you think you can trade up all the sudden they say no and you're stuck with a crappy prize for 50 bucks. There are no warning signs that some rides are way too rough for older people I got severely bruised on one and three days later I'm still hurting pretty bad. A lot of their drink vending machines take your money and then don't give you a drink and there's nobody around for you to ask for a refund or for the product you're just screwed that you they took your money. There's a lot of uneven pavement so if you're not watching where you're going you can easily trip. Dracula's castle ride is so unsafe it should be outlawed. As a matter of fact we reported them to the state Board. We were actually sitting in the hot hot sun and the employee was busy combing his hair and putting on sunscreen before he would open the gate to let us on the ride we waited for him for over 10 minutes to primp. Food is pricey which is to be expected. A lot of the rides are really run down and need a good coat of paint and a little bit of maintenance. Seems to me the owners need to worry about making the park a little nicer in a little safer rather than just pocketing a bunch of money of which a lot of it they got cheating people on the stupid games. Would not recommend which is sad cuz we were thinking of getting a season pass but not now. Cheap park that needs alot of upgrade, safety fixes and love. Kinder employees would be nice as well. read more

We get passes every year. Is it worth it?! Heck yes it is! Your pass is paid for after just two visits, so you are basically going for free the rest of the summer and fall. Some downfalls (which is why I only gave 3 stars): -if you don't have a pass, you can't ride. Seems reasonable until you bring your 1 year old and realize they can't ride anything but the carousel and a few kiddie rides. But if they don't have a pass, they can't ride. Two and under should be free. -my adult pass is the same price as my two year olds. That's dumb! So dumb. Why am I paying the same price for me as I am my two-year-old when my two-year-old can only ride a handful of rides and I can ride pretty much every ride in the park? They should have adult passes and children passes. An example: kids under 48 inches should be cheaper because that eliminates all of the coasters. Seems like a simple concept. -for the love of Pete, get rid of all the animals. It's so sad that they keep on concrete in these tiny little cages. No fun for anyone to see the animals that way. The way they are treated is horrendous. -the smoking sections are a JOKE! They are not secluded enough, so I can smell the smoke everywhere. Drives me crazy. As I'm waiting in line at the carousel with my two yr old, only 50 feel away is one of the smoking sections. Gives me a headache every time. They need to change this because it's like this everywhere in the park. I love Lagoon. I do. It's fun for my family and I to get passes every year. Went there on a Friday, some rides were a long wait but most of the wait times weren't terrible. However, the line jumping that occurs at this park is one of the worst I've seen at a park. This also causes wait time to become longer. Some rides will give complimentary lockers for your stuff. Due to wait times we didn't get back in time and it locked us out. We spoke to the ride attendant who was helpful and called someone to come help but weren't told a time. Then spoke to another park employee who admitted the call was probably forgotten about and called again but also said it would be the ride supervisor who would need to help us. Still no one showed up. We then spoke to the ride attendant who again called. Found the ride supervisor who at first told us it was a different department but then finally did help us to open the locker. They have some good coasters but I don't believe the admission price was worth it. I also didn't realize they have animals you can view by taking the train. We just thought it was a train ride around the park but it goes through there area where they keep animals from lions, mountain lions, antelope, etc... However it was kinda sad seeing the animals. They didn't seem to have much room and their enclosures were all concrete. read more

It's so nice having this so close to home and the water park area is small but an added bonus that's not necessarily standard at other amusement parks. I love that you can bring in coolers and set up for the day in a picnic area. We rode all the big rides and hit the water park. The only negative things we noticed were the foreign employees who were completely incapable of communicating which is scary when operating rides. One girl just smiled and wandered aimlessly and didn't check all the restraints and when primordial had issues and was closed for 20 minutes she couldn't tell anyone so she just smiled and let everyone get in line even though the ride was shut down. Luckily someone who spoke English came through and told us. Then we went to get probably the worst pizza I've ever had and the girl there also spoke almost zero English. We ended up having to make 2 payments and I'm still not sure that she charged us properly for what we ordered. I'm all for work visas especially when the locals aren't willing to take the jobs but they really need to make sure they hire people with some basic language skills especially for jobs involving the safety of the guests. read more

We planned this visit to Lagoon on this family trip to Utah for my uncle's retirement from Southwest and my little cousin's graduation/becoming a Marine. My dad has a lot of family in Utah. I have very fond memories from Summers with my cousins here, and it was nostalgic coming back as an adult with my family. The weather was perfect for an October day in Utah. It actually got hot enough I wished I had a short sleeve t-shirt on. Our kids had a great time and got a few scares in at the haunted houses. It's not as big as I remember, but I was a preteen when I was last here. I was happy to see my kids be happy again, even if it was just for a few hours. We had lunch in the beer garden and let the kids do a few more rides and one last haunted house before everything closed down. I was very pregnant, so I wasn't able to go on any rides, but I can't wait to go back so I can outride these kids on the Rollercoasters. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I read an article online that said plus size people could attend 95% of the rides here. I wasn't able to fit on any. I went to Disney a couple months ago no issues. I think the rides in Utah are customized only to very physically fit people. Like I said I did my research before coming and the articles I read said there should be no issues. I waited in line for several rides and couldn't get on any. I paid for 6 passes. I asked for a single refund and the 21-25 year old kid I talked to said he was the manager and there was nothing he could do for me. Kinda frustrating seeing how much money I spent here.... read more

Lagoon finally opened Primordial! Because we had expectations for a long line- we were the first to arrive at the park entrance, 9:00AM Lagoon opened the park entrance gates at 9:30. We walked towards the north area of the park to find that it had been roped off with a sign saying area closed. With the area roped off, our efforts to arrive early were wasted as a massive crowd began to form all across the roped off area, with no way to ensure that those who had arrived early would be first to enter the north area. At the roped off area was also a group of park security officers who spoke to the park guests like a group of middle schoolers, lecturing everyone about their reasoning for blocking off the north area of the park. The condescending and entitled attitudes of the security made the experience even more frustrating. A little after 10:00am the park security guards dropped the rope opening up the north area of the park, and the mob of guests that lagoon inadvertently formed by blocking off the north area of the park, dispersed like a slow thick river chaotically spewing towards primordial. The crowd bottlenecked in narrow pathways, and I watched as families were separated in the masses. I was so unimpressed by the way lagoon had prepared for crowd managment, and their efforts to increase safety seemed to make the situation worse. I left the park disappointed and feeling like our efforts arrive early were a waste! We could have easily entered the park and filed into the actual line area of primordial much easier. As for the ride experience, the guest interaction was unique to other park attractions, and comes with a fun surprise near the end, but Primordial fails to sell the ride's story... as guests are thrown into the ride with little description of what they're about to experience, or what the world of primordial entails. Though our wait in line ended up being around 25 minutes, most groups will stand in line for 2-3 hours. This wait would not have been worth the actual ride experience. read more

Rides are amazing, but the line jumping is so out of hand, and the workers don't do a damn thing to stop it. There are signs EVERYWHERE saying reserving a spot or coming back to the line with a friend or anything of the sort is not allowed, but groups of 5 people were just joining their one friend at the front of the line over and over while the workers watched. The ticket prices are so much that this is just unacceptable to me to endure after all the money and time spent. Really disappointing how disrespectful the people attending the park are and that no workers enforce the rules. read more

This place is definitely a 5 STAR PARK!!! All the rides are fun, they have a variety of rides for babies, kids, and adults! The staff is all super nice, they will answer any of your questions! Now the some of the lines may be long but trust me, once you get on them, IT'S WORTH IT! I've been going to Lagoon ever since I was a child and had no problems. Every day before the park opens they check every ride to make sure it is safe for guests to ride on! I definitely recommend coming here! read more

Our family always has a good time here. We didn't get season passes this summer, but since my daughter is an employee, we each got in for $29. We spent the day here on Sunday and had plenty of time to go on all the rides we wanted to. I was able to get my 7-year-old daughter to go on the Colossus with me! The food is definitely on the pricey side. We all decided to get churros for $4 to tie us over until we could get home for dinner. It was around $11 to get a burger....that's just crazy. We didn't do any of the children's Frightmares activities until about 6:30 when the line died down. I regret that because they didn't have any candy left. You could tell that some of the employees were definitely done being there (and I don't blame them). Unfortunately they have to work long hours (I'm not sure if I'll let my daughter work here again). The sky ride is always terrifying for me, but it was a good way to see some of the Frightmares show. It just gives me anxiety when I see teenagers scooting their butts of the seat and stretching their legs down trying to reach the tops of the trees. There's not a whole lot lagoon can do about other people's stupidity though. Whoever was operating the Jumping Dragon ride on 9/19 needs a raise! He was so awesome and made the ride that much more fun! The lady working the Tipsy Tea Cups that night also needs a raise. She was super sweet each time we rode the ride. It ended up being my daughter's favorite. My favorite is the Cannibal, but Colossus will always have my heart :) read more

Who doesn't love going to amusement parks.  We are lucky to have one within a short distance from downtown. I've seen so many changes here (for the better) all the way back to when you had to buy individual tickets for the rides to the very expensive day pass. Which Is better than having to worry about individual tickets. Did you know that Lagoon was once a venue for concerts with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and many others. Why oh Why didn't my parents take me back then? Why? Because my mamma don't dance and my daddy don't rock n roll. Now a days there are a lot of thrill seeking rides for both adults, and children along with different themes throughout the park. Check out going back in time at Pioneer Village, or Swimming with Sharks, just kidding, they do have a nice aquatic area for those of you who like to swim. Freightmares during Halloween season. Which was my first time going this year.  To get the most out of the park, I would by a season pass so you don't have to rush around trying to get on all the rides in on one day. Lagoon is very family friendly so bring everyone... even the little tots. I do miss seeing the old rickety, scary, WHITE rollercoaster from the freeway. You knew you were coming up on Lagoon and a day full of fun and adventure.  Somehow the Brown one isn't the same. read more

Was at Peacock Parlor and I was wanting to enjoy their new gelato and the boy at the counter came off kinda rude. Levi B. He could just be a little more enthusiastic and have a better attitude. Could use some smiling to make customers feel welcome. Overall place was pretty clean and employees were cleaning everything great. read more

Did a quick visit with the kids during our vacation. Place has a lot of games and rides. Lines were not bad on a Monday during summer vacation. Food we tried was great -- chicken and fries. The place is clean and organized. Kids did have a lot of fun. What I enjoyed about it, the place wasn't complicated or intimidating considering we are from out of state. Water park was closed during our visit. Note: We were able to bring in some snacks and bottled water. They also have drinking fountains. read more

Lagoon is an amazing and wonderful family-owned amusement park with some thrilling and unique roller coasters. Out of these, the most noteworthy coasters are Cannibal, Wicked, and the classic Roller Coaster. Cannibal starts out with an elevator lift up to the top of its hill. This is followed by a beyond-vertical drop and a series of loops and inversions. Then, you go into a series of brakes before you begin the Lagoon roll over a pond. And after this roll, you proceed to go down, accelerating while going in circles around this pond, before you go through a cave underneath the pond and get mildly misted before going into the station. This coaster was designed in-house, and is unlike anything else in the United States. Wicked starts with a launch over a tall hill, but unlike most launch coasters, it does not end there. Instead, this is followed by a full course of hills, inversions, and turns. This makes for a very fun ride. Roller Coaster is a classic wooden coaster that happily remains relatively smooth, thrilling, and full of airtime despite its age. Lagoon also has an excellent restaurant in Biergarten. I had their fish and chips. The fish was nicely breaded and served with good sauces, and the portions of fries were generous. And last, but not least, Lagoon has an excellent park atmosphere full of shade trees, fountains, and a large kids area full of mild rides and kids and family coasters for the smaller kids, a water park, two dark rides, and an historical Pioneer Village with a hidden rapids ride so everyone can have fun here. In short, Lagoon is an amazing and wonderful park with unique coasters and I strongly recommend it. read more

Lagoon is a rip off, paid $100.00 for a day pass, $20.00 to park the car. Decided to ride Double Thunder Raceway, but it costs an additional $8.00 for the ride! This place is out of control! WTF read more
